Have been using for years

I have been using the Thermacell products for about 3 years now and love them. They are a bit expensive but worth every penny. I will not use anything else when I go out in the woods or even mowing my grass at home. I have the repeller, lantern and torch which all work great! They are easy to use and they are clean....no need to spray chemicals on your skin.

Actually works!!!

Great product & really good pricing for refills. Thermacell is the only thing I have found that actually works to keep mosquitoes away! I am always getting bit by those pesky bugs & tried everything I could but nothing ever worked 100%. I was very skeptical the first time I used Thermacell & was pleasantly surprised. Remember to follow the directions & turn on the Thermacell repeller at least 10-15 minutes before you go outside. It takes a little bit to get the product pads to heat up & distribute into the surrounding air.

THEY WORK!!!!!!!

I was extremely skeptical when I purchased the lantern but was desperate enough to try anything. See, we share an easement with a park that produces mosquitoes year around. As a matter of fact, we have such an issue that our friends don’t like to visit during the summer because they get eaten alive! Well, I’m elated to report that this will no longer be an issue because this contraption WORKS!!!!!!! Just this morning I had 4 of the little buggers swarming my coffee and 5 waiting for a chance to land on my legs. Within two minutes of turning the lantern, on they were gone!!!!!!! I will be purchasing a few more lanterns to go around the pool and the workshop. [ I bought the lantern from Lowe’s and just purchased the refills from Amazon on Sunday; got them within a day of ordering and I originally chose the two day prime shipping......so thanks for the fast shipping Amazon! My legs, coffee, and friends thanks ya]

Pretty Effective, Great Price thru Amazon

I'm one of those people that seem to attract mosquitoes like a magnet. In a group of people I'm usually the one the mosquitoes go after. I picked up a ThermaCell when a friend told me about it. It is pretty effective, though not complete. I attributed that to air movement which can mess up the coverage. After getting a second one and placing them on either side of me about 8 feet apart, it worked well. As most people know, if it is fairly breezy, you don't have to worry about mosquitoes. In still air one of these units will suffice or if there is slight movement where the breeze can change at any moment, having two of these make a big difference. Of course, if you are moving about through the deep woods this won't work as the unit has to saturate the air in order to protect you. In that case, I have to slather on 25-40% DEET to get full protection, but only if I have too. For a stationary position or a small gathering of people, these units works great. Getting refills through Amazon is the most cost effective. With ThermaCell, I have an alternative that works without using DEET. USAGE COMMENTS: As for the pads and butane usage, I find that a single pad lasts about a full evening, and I have been averaging about three pads to a butane cartridge. When turning the unit on, it is important that you look at the indicator filament to see that it is heating. Sometimes I have to click the unit more than once to make sure it is working. It's also easy to forget to turn off the unit, because it is so unobtrusive (no glowing wick or coil) that you forget about it at the end of the day. In that case, you will use up and waste the butane cartridge.

North woods mosquitoes tamed!

In the big woods of northwest Wisconsin mosquitoes are legendary. Skeptical, even with all the positive reviews, we gave this a try. The Thermacell system WORKS. We have never before been able to sit on the deck, morning and evening, with NO mosquitoes. They hover off in the distance, waiting to eat you alive, but stay clear of the area around the Thermocell. The refills are worth every penny. Don’t run out.

This thing really works!

I am EXTREMELY susceptible to mosquitos-- I'm one of those people who get bit when eight other people around me are not bothered at all. So when I first saw this and the lantern that you use it with, I was skeptical. But now I will not sit outside in the evening without it! I no longer have to spray myself with DEET to avoid bites. I have used this since 2011 every summer and I can say it works great! The butane cartridges do last 12 hours, are easy to change. The insecticide pads work for at least 4 hours, and it is easy to tell when they need to be changed because they change from blue to white as they are used up. You may think they are a little pricey, but if you are as bothered by mosquitos as I am, the price is well worth it to have no bites and not have to douse yourself with smelly, sticky DEET products! I highly recommend the Thermacell line of products.

WOW!

Been using ThermaCELLs for 5-6 years now...................In June in northern Canada (annual fishing trip) and late spring - early fall at my cabin in the swamp. All of a sudden the mosquitos and black flies are not a problem (if you've ever been to northern Ontario camping in the bush, you know what I mean. Allows us to spend the early evenings out-of-doors. Not perfect, and less effective when there is a wind (make sure you get them up wind), but these things are the best insect repellants I've ever used. The "value pack" makes it more cost effective as we use them multiple times on a daily basis when camping. Much less expensive than even in Wal-Mart (when they are in stock). Difficult to find locally during the mosquito season here in Michigan.

Works wonders

Thermacell convinces this skeptic. Used it in northern Ontario, within 5 minutes of turning it on, it chased away all the flies and mosquitoes. It really saved our hunting trip!

Good Job Thermacell

We were amazed at the difference this unit made in protecting us from mosquito's. Look, a flyer may buzz by once or twice, but not a mosquito! We used the unit several times on our deck which is located about 20 feet from a large wooded area. We were never able to sit out there before at, or after dusk. It does the job well; for us anyway!!

Would defiantly recommend to anyone that is debating buying

Ordered & received as expected - I’ve also been somewhat of a pessimist when it came to the thermocells & their performance but this year I planned & did a lot of turkey hunting which in my state runs the end of April through May (major mosquito time) especially when you’re out in the woods before daylight so I figured I’d give the thermocell a try and I am now a believer. Two straight weeks in the woods & I can’t remember hearing a mosquito buzzing near me. Would defiantly recommend to anyone that is debating buying one
