Love the upgrade in transfer speeds from 2.0
I transfer tons of movies from my computer to my flash drive in order to play them on my NeoTv player. For a few years I have been using the standard USB 2.0 flash drives. I would find myself being annoyed by how long it was taking to transfer the movies on the 2.0. Last year I had bought a new laptop with a USB 3.0 port in it. I was so excited when I read that the 3.0 port was compatible with my 2.0 flash drives. I was ignorant to the fact that while the USB 2.0 drive would work fine in the 3.0 port, there would be no improvement in transfer speeds. Once again I was bummed. I found this flash drive on Amazon for a really good price and again I was excited. I thought there would be a noticeable improvement in transfer speed, but to be honest, I thought it would be minimal (again, my ignorance). When it arrived, I plugged this sucker in to transfer a movie and BAM! I was shocked at the difference in transfer speeds. I don't think I could ever go back to using USB 2.0.

Quick and simple
This is a sleek, quality flash drive with a decent write speed. I've been averaging around 21 mb/sec using a usb 3 port. My other usb 2 SanDisk flash drives often only write at roughly 8 to 10 mb/s. This is a retractable flash drive.

Worth the money. Just format to EXFAT to support all your files.
This product is great. I had to reformat the original to allow large files to be stored. The factory format will not allow large files. Use the optional exfat in the windows options and this drive will be great to store all the information you can throw to it. The reviews about usb 3.0 and 2.0 are right but 2.0 is fast enough to run a virtual machine with simple tasks.

Great product
For the price this is excellent; for some reason on my machine it starts off at 130 MB/s then eventually drop to 10 MB/s; Installed linux on it and its swap speed to be about 30 MB/s which is faster then any standard 7200rpm hard drive. For most purposes if plugged into a 3.0 port this will copy down about 800MB a minute; or 5 Gigs in about 8 minutes real time in my practice. ***if using as a storage device Be Sure to format this in NTFS *** as it comes formatted in FAT32 which has a 3.99 Gig limit on single files. For instance: ISO, IMG, BAK, MP4 and ANY files copied over 3.99 Gigs will error out at the 3.99 point. Then you just wasted 10 minutes.

One of the best names out there
I recently had to get a 32 gig thumb drive to do a map update on the GPS in my car. I don't normally need a thumb drive that large so had to get one new. I found a different brand at first that wasn't a name brand, but was a little bit cheaper. Well, I learned my lesson, once again. You get what you pay for sometimes. The other thumb drive lasted a few hours then decided it no longer wanted to work. I tried to reformat it and it seemed like it was working, but failed halfway thru copying the map update to it. So, I decided to cut my losses and get a brand I knew I could trust instead. Enter the SanDisk brand. I've always had great luck with their products, and still have a couple of SanDisk thumb drives several years old that still work perfectly. Got this one, and was able to get my map updates on it and get the car updated within an hour of opening the package. Should have gotten it the first time around. Now my maps are up to date, so I'm using it to store music. My car has a USB port so I can put my music collection on the thumb drive, plug it in, and have it with me when I drive. Works perfectly. Stick with a name you can trust. It's not work saving $3 or $4 to get something that may not work at all.

Lots of Storage!!
This USB drive is perfect for everything! My wife and I put over 3,000 pictures on this from our wedding day and honeymoon. The pictures barely took up 25% of the storage. We also put other files on this USB drive, and still have an enormous amount of space left. This is something everyone should have, as you can backup a lot of files on this, in case if your computer dies unexpectedly, or gets fried during a thunderstorm. If I ever do fill this USB drive up, I am definitely going to buy another one. I strongly recommend this product to everyone.

Good for Most Purposes
So I see a bunch of people grousing about the read/write speed (just like they do for every other flash drive). I take a more relaxed approach. My only criteria is that a flash drive actually works fast enough to load and/or transfer files within a few minutes, and that it be physically solid. This one meets my criteria and provides a lot of storage for the money. If I was concerned about microseconds and nanoseconds, I would buy a $200 flash drive.

Great for Windows installs and media transfer
We cut the cord awhile back so I use an external drive for watching some shows and movies occasionally. I had been using a USB 2.0 hard drive which is dying on me and now I'm unable to access the drive when it's plugged into the TV. I also needed to do a clean installation of Windows 10 on a new PC build so this USB 3.0 drive was perfect for my needs. I can't tell you how much faster this drive is than my USB 2.0 one. I get speeds averaging 125MB/sec when transferring from my M.2 SSD. The Windows 10 Pro installation was also incredibly fast, the whole process only took about 10 minutes. Super, super happy with this flash drive. Highly recommended.

Read/write speeds significantly faster than most USB flash drives.
Different USB flash drives have significantly different read/write speeds. This SanDisk Ultra is several times faster than cheaper flash drives. The SanDisk Ultra Pro is even faster, but a lot more expensive. This one seems to be the sweet spot in terms of performance vs. price. If you use a flash drive for transferring large files between your work computer and your home computer like I do, it's worth buying a "better" flash drive that has read/write speeds like this one. I'm attaching a Crystal DiskMark test that shows the read/write speeds of this flash drive. I was not solicited or compensated in any way for making this review; I'm just a happy customer.

Perfect Fast Flash Drive
This little device is a big time saver--- copy times are excellent! Most flash drives are USB 2.0. This one is not, it's USB 3.0, and paired with a computer that offers USB 3.0 connections, is much faster than the more common USB 2.0 flash drives. I am using mine to move large video files from a Mac to a Windows machine. Loading to the flash drive is fast and copying them from it to the second machine is even faster. Doing the same job with a hard drive is faster, but not as simple. I enjoy the simplicity over a bit of lost speed. While this is a USB 3.0 device, I have also tried it in a computer having only USB 2.0 connections. No problems! Although it can't achieve the speed of a computer having USB 3.0 outputs, the speed was good and the transfer went smoothly. I've had great experiences with previous SanDisk purchases, and this product proves they are still top-notch. If you are looking for a fast, easy way to transfer files from place to place, this won't disappoint.
