Don't know what all the bad reviews are about. The instructions clearly state how to use the tool and what kind of pressure should be used. I used only one of these on all my walls where I want the paper removed. That's one large dining room wall, kitchen table area and a bathroom. It never damaged my walls due to too much pressure and it also didn't break like some reviews stated. It's actually back in my garage tool box for future use. Just remember not to apply too much pressure so you use the scorcher to only puncture the wall paper just a little so the water can seep in. From my pictures, you'll see all the walls I worked on using this tool and a close up of the little punctures it makes in the wall paper to understand how the tool works. Please read the directions and start off with very little pressure and increase pressure only as needed until you see results. If you can still get the results at a reduced pressure, then that's the pressure you'll want to stay consistent with and any more will cause the tool to not only break, but you'll also puncture the drywall underneath the paper. After I scorched my walls with this tool, I sprayed the walls section by section with only hot water. You can use a sponge but I used a water bottle. I then waited 15 minutes and repeated this step again. That made lifting the paper so much easier and it just peeled off. In some places I had to apply more hot water and a few areas I needed to use a scraper but I can't imagine it being any easier without this tool. Then I washed down the walls with some dish soap water in a bucket and a big sponge to get the glue off.

A necessary item for wallpaper removal! I got this with a scraper tool from Chomp. The scraper was WAY too close to the texture of my wall and was not helpful. The first section we pulled out was a nightmare! BUT with some experimenting... Scoring well, but not too hard and then wetting multiple times and WAITING, the wallpaper peeled off by hand in huge pieces. WAY easier. We used warm water and vinegar, no chemicals necessary.

I got this to help remove old vinyl wallpaper boarder and it worked perfectly. Not much pressure needed either. I would say using the hottest water possible helps move the process much faster.

A must have for removing dreadful wallpaper! Held up nicely through two large rooms.

This was very easy to use and did not require much force. It can be kind of loud. I scored my wallpaper with this and then saturated it with a 50/50 unscented fabric softener/hot water solution and the wallpaper came off easily.

These are just have tools for removing wallpaper. Really made it much easier. This tool is easy and comfortable to use.

This is the greatest invention ever. Just scrape all over the walls and spray down the 1 capful of fabric softener and the rest water..wait 10 minutes and pull the wallpaper off with ease.

Has two wheels with many small, sharp, blades. It leaves two tracks of small holes threw the paper and into the dry wall. The steam can now penetrate the paper and get between the dry wall and the paper. This makes it easier to remove the paper.

This is a must tool that will make the terrible chore of removing wallpaper a bit easier.
