Used to protect toddler grandson from very sharp hearth and brick in front of fireplace. I had been using pipe insulation which did a good job protecting, but looked a bit tacky for the long haul. It is a bit tedious to place the tape strips on the long edging pieces but they seem to be holding well. The color blends well with our brick and it looks much like nice trim. The corners make the job look very finished. Time will tell about durability, but it has stood up to a busy 20+ pound guy pulling himself up and cruising along the hearth on several occasions. That's a good start. It definitely softens a dangerous hazard in our home.

My low Parsons table cut into my knees when I used it as a work table. Tried all manner of things to pad the edge and finally turned to Amazon and found this toddler proofing kit by Roving. I do not need it to go over the top and could cut it off leaving just the side of the table with the padding strip. Easy to use. Put on the tape strips - carefully - then pull off the protective paper and stick it on - keeping it straight along the edge of the table. (I have a couple of slightly curved spots - oh well.) It is absolutely fun to press my knees against it. Surprising thick and dense. I bought oyster and would get black next time. But I still have 14' of the 18' roll left over. I am looking for another annoying edge. This stuff is great!

These work great! Funny story, when I installed these to cover my fire place brink corners I did so only to stop the nagging of my wife. BUT not 10 minutes after finishing the install did my son come up to the fire place and trip falling head first into the foam covered brick corner... THANK GOD I finally listened to my wife! Instead of a trip to the emergency room he just bounced off of the foam and went about his business unharmed!

I was worried the sticky wouldn’t hold but so far so good. My 10 month old pulls up on the fire place holding onto the guard, which is good since it’s soft/squishy and the fire place alone would scratch up his hands. I’m glad I don’t have to worry about him getting hurt on the edge and corners.

5 Month Update: This product has saved my children's bodies from serious injury countless times!! Sooo worth the purchase. Changing my review from 4 stars to 5 right now because it has held up this long so for the price, it's a great purchase. Original: This is a first impression review after one day and I will edit my review if needed. Dislikes: • Tedious to assemble. You have to apply the double sided tape yourself. It could have come done for you. It's not. This takes forever. (Getting it on straight means taking your time.) This took a whole evening after bedtime. • A significant section is unusable. It's wound up in a spiral and the inner spiral is wrinkled and so curled that you can't get it straight enough to get the sticky tape on or if you manage to it will have big, very noticeable creases on the backside that will show once applied. If you need exactly the length listed for your purposes, buy two. Expect that at least 20" of the set is garbage. Because of this, I was short at least 20" to complete my table. One section of my two-shelved table is unprotected. It is frustrating since I have the length left in the roll but I can't use it. They need to wind the spiral looser in the packaging to prevent this. • It's UGLY. lol • I am betting my toddler will eventually pull this off, but part of me would rather it be easy to take off for the parent than a nightmare to remove. I don't think this will damage my table and I can always buy it again if my toddler pulls it off. How long it lasts matters to me, though. (Whether she manages to get it off in a few months or a few days.) • It says "do not let your baby put their mouth on this." ....this is a baby proofing product. How can I manage to keep my baby's mouth off the coffee table bumper? Her mouth is on everything. I am concerned that this is toxic, in which case, it shouldn't be sold for baby proofing. Likes: • It definitely serves its intended purpose. It made my very hazardous, pointy, and hard edged Ikea Hemnes coffee table no longer so dangerous. My toddler had scraped her back badly on a corner. My infant had banged her head on the edge. I knew those corners were just ready to take an eye out. These bumpers are soft and I can rest easy as my infant pulls up to stand on it. I no longer have my heart race watching her wobble at the corner. I doubt it will even hurt if she falls and hits her face on the padded area. This is obviously the most important plus to me. • Despite it being ugly, I appreciate that they offered brown as a color. I think black, white, or clear would have been even worse in my brown-toned livingroom. • It comes with 8 corners. I didn't even realize when I bought it. (I now see the photo shows 8) Now I know if my toddler peels a corner off, I have a back up. I would not say that there is enough here for two tables unless they are small. Maybe end tables. Tips: • "Measure twice, cut once" • Use large scissors to cut. We tried multiple things and this worked the best. I was surprised that the directions didn't have any kind of suggestion on what to use. Flatten out the corner of the long strip a bit to get a straight cut.

So far, so good. It's saved our 8mo old little guy many a bonk on the head. Not having any difficulty with him picking the foam off, tho he is curious and does poke at it. He also tries to eat it, which we discourage by running a small electric current through the conductive foam. Just kidding. We sit him down and rationally explain why eating foam rubber that comes from some unspecified country of origin is maybe not the best long-term health plan. He's been remarkably responsive.

This is the best buy for this type of product that I've seen. The adhesive strips stick to the foam and to brick. There's plenty of it (adhesive and foam) and it doesn't look half bad either!

I was worried that my 14 mo granddaughter was going to crack her noggin on the hearth. Looking for a solution on Amazon, I found this Roving Cove Baby Proof Edge and Corners. In spite of it being for utility, it looks pretty good. Everything I needed was included. Simple to install and cuts easily with sharp scissors. Note: I cleaned the edges of the hearth with alcohol before sticking to remove any dirt or oil. Thinking of getting brown for the coffee table. I recommend. I don't know yet about removing the adhesive tape from the tile, but I've found that WD40 easily removes sticky adhesives. UPDATE: I ordered brown for the coffee table and it went on slick as a whistle. Looks good. Now I don't worry so much.

I love this product. It has saved our children countless times over. We use it on the inner top edges of the their cribs. (Wooden with 90 degree edges). Continuously saves their mouth and teeth when they jump up and down bouncing on the mattress holding the side. We use it on their toy storage furniture in their playroom (also made of wood). Never fails when they are rough housing, one of them goes flying into an edge or corner. They just get up and keep on running like nothing has happened with these. Of course, there are the big collisions where they will cry, but they walk away with out knots, bruises or cuts. If you have a critter(s) with boundless energy and the occasional slip up. These will be your best friend.
