Great way to babyproof your cabinets

Of the 3 types of cabinet locks I have tried, this one works best (have tried magnetic, strap, and catch). Placement is tricky with any babyproofing; the first time we tried to install these, we had the back piece too far back. Some reviewers gave installation tips here, do yourself a favor and read them before trying to install. These aren't designed to be used in drawers unfortunately. I am using the strap type locks on my drawers and have to keep re-buying them because they break (without being pulled on). The catch type locks will break quickly if used on drawers and cabinets that are accessed frequently. Another issue with straps and catches is they allow the cabinet or drawer to open slightly and my baby can get her hand wedged in. With this magnetic lock, the door stays closed. It's easy to open with the included key, but we have also opened it with refrigerator magnets we have on hand. I also like that you can flip a switch if you want to keep it unlocked for a period of time.

I love these now that I have them installed

I love these now that I have them installed... but I wish there was a guide or template to help install. I had to guess where to install on the door and couldn't really get it wrong since we have painted cabinets. The directions are clear, but choosing the location and fit where this would trigger the lock but also be easy to open with the magnet was a little tricky! I'd also love if it came with two magnets for when my husband loses one...but other than that, I would highly recommend. Wish we had done this with all of our cabinets!

Love these! After the first box

Love these! After the first box, we immediately ordered a second. Initially, when our baby began to crawl around we bought the old-school plastic 2-piece that you need to drill into your cabinets. Aside from my husband's heart breaking over drilling into his new cabinets, we couldn't even operate them easily. Just a pain! So after one cabinet I quickly looked up cabinet locks with great reviews on Amazon, these came up immediately and the customer review videos spoke loudly! We ordered two sets now, so we are all set, even with a 20lb baby hanging on with all his might to open the cabinets he used to swing open easily. Fantastic product!!

We needed to have baby locks on some low cabinets that housed some very good china. I looked around and found these!! This is a fantastic product!! I went online to check out the installation, and it was amazing to watch! Well thought out with the magnet that is kept in the holder until needed. Also, has the ability to override the lock as well!

Tad expensive, but worth it in the right place!

These are super easy to apply and use -- and tons simpler to deal with than baby locks that require drilling and constantly fiddling with zips or tension locks. While you have to be careful about placement, we found that within the first minute or so of applying the pieces, we could still safely remove and reposition them if we found the arrangement to be awkward. They're a little on the expensive side and you only get 4 in pack with one key. However, I had already installed more traditional tension mechanisms on the kitchen and bathroom cabinets, and these magnet locks worked perfect for the wardrobe we recently purchased for the baby's room. It allowed us to lock (and save her fingers from) the closet-like door and lower 3 drawers -- the only ports she is able to reach and manipulate anyway. Very very handy! At this price, I would not put them in every cabinet we have. But it's great for a dresser, wardrobe, or somewhere you need quick, easy access and can't or don't want to drill.

Easy to assemble and works well

So happy with this product. Very easy to install and locks well so that baby can't open cabinets. Magnet is easy to use to release locks when you need to get into a cabinet. It took me a few minutes to install each lock after wiping the cabinets clean. Once the first lock was on, the rest were easy to install. I wish the locks came in a larger bundle though, as this kit only has four, which will only cover four doors, and the average household needs roughly 15-20 to cover all cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms. I can easily order multiple small kits, but it would be a nice option to have available for those wanting one big kit. This is a great investment though, as the locks are on the inside of the cabinet so you don't see them, and installation is easy, saving you a lot of time.

These locks are amazing!!

These locks are amazing!!! I have now bought 6 sets for all over my house in my kitchen and bathrooms. Figuring out how to get them to latch for your specific cabinets can be a bit of a learning curve, but they are very forgiving during the initial application if you have to adjust, and once they stick for 24 hours, they are VERY strong. My husband and I forget and pull on them, and have not had a problem with a single lock popping off. My daughter has also not broken off any, which makes it worth the cost. I am very pleased, and recommend them to all my friends and family. Benefits of these locks: -strong once they are secured for 24 hour waiting period -hidden and don't ruin your cabinets -can set to unlock if desired (we do this when we have guests over for the restroom cabinets etc) -potential to buy more sticky strips if you move -awesome customer support -can place key anywhere with magnetic backing (we have one on our fridge, one on the wall by the kitchen sink, and then the others on light switches in each bathroom we have the locks) I do wish that they came with more keys, or that you could buy this brand of keys, but universal magnets work fine as well if you buy them separate. Overall, very very pleased, and will continue to buy them as we find the need for baby proofing more areas.

Easy to install and open!

We installed these on kitchen cabinets and other cabinets/toy boxes. You can flip a switch to disable them. My only suggestion was we added some small round Disney stickers to the cabinets where you needed to put the "key". This makes it easy for those that are visiting to know exactly where to move the magnet for access.
