Great plants, great customer service

TL;DR: Definitely coming back to JoelsCarnivorousPlants I ordered one “medium sized B52” on June 2, 2015 via Amazon. The order processed almost immediately, and I was soon able to click the Track Package button, which showed the order in transit and scheduled for delivery June 11. I had never ordered from Joel's before, and didn't know how things were packaged, so I wrote and asked if the plants would be all right spending 9 days in transit. I received a reply from Joel's telling me to disregard Amazon's tracking, that the order was being filled that day. As promised, the order quickly arrived via USPS. The plant I'd ordered was bundled with two regular VFTs which Joel's included free, all three healthy. The sphagnum moss included in the package was top-grade. I'd purchased sphagnum from Home Depot which contained sticks and other debris. The moss included with Joel's was soft and debris-free. An instruction sheet arrived with the plants detailing exactly how to plant them, the kind of water to use, the kind of pot to avoid, the sunlight requirements – everything. Following the instructions from Joel's, I now have three very healthy VFTs near the window. All three have acclimated and are producing new traps. I'm very satisfied with Joel's and will be ordering again.

I can assure you, you have no reason to be through this seller. You will receive an instructional email prior to the delivery of your plant, in addition to a very specific set of instructions enclosed in the package on how to set up and care for your plant. If you're still concerned, a link is included to a video tutorial, and if thats not enough, Joel is always available for any questions or concerns via email. The plant comes in a package with a net pot, moss, and 2 or 3 Venus Flytrap plants, along with instructions on how to plant it. Keep in mind these are adult plants, not seeds as many other sellers offer. I was both satisfied and impressed with the quality of this product and the helpfulness of the seller. In fact, I'd go so far as to say I have not encountered any seller on Amazon so passionate about his product and the satisfaction of the customer. I love my plant

UPDATE: I've added a picture of how great the plant looks today, about 5 months after purchase. I use a grow light at night and put in on my north facing porch during the day. Distilled water only. I can't say it's eaten many bugs but it is very happy anyway! This is a beautiful plant. It arrived quickly and in excellent shape. I am very happy. The seller sent along very detailed instructions which is great.

We named him Jeff, our new addition to our home. Jeff enjoys eating flies. He drinks only distilled water and his favorite movie is Little Shop of Horrors. Jeffs current love interest is Jessica my wife but we have spoken of this many times. Jeff welcome to our home! Best Fly Traps Ever !

I have purchased carnivorous plants for several years now trying to raise them. The issue is that most plants I get in the mail are not so good looking to start with, and they generally go down hill from there. I purchased three plants from a seller in Texas a few months ago, and one simply is not growing; he has not offered to replace the plant. My wife has a friend who bought a VFT from Joel. I looked at his site and bought a B-52 based on my wife's friend's advice. It arrived several days letter, very well packed and with more moss than I needed. I cannot say this enough...it is the best looking, healthiest, and problem free VFT I have ever seen or owned. My eyes fell out when I opened the box and saw the plant. Joel put a few extra plants in to complete a "medium" sized pot, but it looks more like a large to me. He included total instructions along with a diagram that a 6 year old could understand. Since these plants arrive bare root, we would never have known how to pot it without Joel's instructions/picture. Joel answers emails very quickly. He also has several videos at his website that show EVERYTHING you want to know about potting his plants, as well as instructions on what to stay away from. He gave me advice that I never knew, such as not planting these with clay pots. I could talk for hours about how happy I am with Joel. I do not know Joel, never met Joel, don't even know what state or country Joel lives in. But he is a great guy to buy from. Try him! Look at all the other reviews here; they all tell the same story ! Great Plant, Great Customer Service!

We had an excellent experience with our recent order! My 4-year-old has been dying to have a flytrap for over a year, so I contacted Joel based on the the excellent reviews. Not only did he give me some great advice as to which type of plant would be the coolest for a learning little kid to have, his contact was quick and informative throughout the whole process, and our B52s are very big and healthy. Our plants have about 18 traps between them and more are already growing! The biggest traps are about the size of a silver dollar, and they began trapping flies two days after we planted them--very cool. Our kiddo loves our B52s! My only tip for future purchasers: don't necessarily trust the shipping "window" provided by Amazon--the actual shipping, at least for us, was much, much faster than our given window indicated and we happened to be out of town the week that our first plants were delivered. Of course, after sitting in our mailbox in triple-digit AZ weather for several days, the plants were dead by the time we got home, bummer! No worries, though, Joel was quick to respond and offer replacements when I contacted him about our situation. Great service! :-)

Awesome stuff

I bought mine well over a year ago. They are so healthy and beautiful, it's amazing. I keep them outside for 3 seasons and bring them inside for the Winter (I'm in CT). They have become so big and vibrant and happy, I can't say enough how pleased I am with them. People really get a kick out of them. All I do is make sure they are topped off with the proper amount of water (I like to uses rain water or distilled water) and keep them where they get a good amount of sun. They catch more fly's than they know what to do with. Also it's cool to see them flower and grow through the different seasonal changes. Joel's awesome and very helpful. Fun stuff.

I was very impressed with the quality of the fly trap when it arrived. It was very green and had many traps. Joel emailed before the plant arrived to ensure that we had distilled water for the plant. The instructions were very clear on how to set it up and my son watched the easy to follow to videos online. My son found a small worm outside and the plant gobbled it right up! He fed it another worm about a week later. One of the traps has turned black, but I was expecting that since that was also in Joel's instructions. Joel even followed up a few weeks after the purchase just to make sure everything was going okay. I would not buy a carnivorous plant from anyone else! Great quality plants and excellent customer service!
