Good quality and fit as expected
I've just purchased my second pair of these sneakers. I've had my first pair for about 6 months now. They held up well considering I walk my dog about a mile-and-a-half daily. They were comfortable and they felt as though they were providing good support. They fit as expected at size 11 too. The build quality was adequate as the stitching was solid and there was only the occasional spot of glue (used to hold the sole onto the bottom of the shoe) visible. When compared to a walk in shoe shop, buying shoes online can be a bit tricky. I'm glad that, as consumers, we can make it less of a gamble for one another with these product review systems. With that said, what drew me back to this sneaker was it's relatively low price, decent quality, and good fit. I've had my second pair for a little over a week and they are of similar quality and comfort level as the first.

Great true wide fit shoe! (we ordered wide width)
Hubby loves these! He has a wide foot- especially across the toe/ball area, and he says these are some of the most comfortable shoes he has worn- from the moment he first put them on, and now that he has had them for 9 months- still comfy. has no rubbing. great arch area. And let me tell you, if he is saying all that, then they must be good. He is the type that once he finds a shoe he likes, he will buy 10 pair- and hoard them, bc he doesnt like change. LOL But to his defense, its hard to find a true wide fit shoe or sneaker, thats comfortable or actually even wide enough. So for me to find these and get him to convert from his previous "best shoe ever" has to speak volumes.

Good for wide, hard-to-please feet
So far the only shoes I've found that are comfortable on my large and wide feet (with narrow ankles). I wear them for working out, walking, and everyday usage. They are good in summer and winter too. Normally I have to go with extra-wide, but with these shoes the normal widths (D) are comfortable – you've just got to wear them a day or two to break them in and then they are GREAT. That's my experience, but I guess everybody's feet are different. Not everybody has wide, hard-to-please feet like mine.

Perfect for a woman who needs a wide shoe
I'm a woman who wears a 9W. Frequently I cannot find my size in a woman's shoe that is wide enough in the toe box. Happily, the remedy is a man's shoe in their regular width. These running shoes fit me perfectly with lots of width for my size 9W foot. The orthotic removes so that I can use my own orthotics. I've worn them all day and not taken a single lame step from plantar fasciitis. Yeah! My toes are happy, too! Yeah! The sole is very stable with little flexibility laterally. Just perfect. I'm ready to get them in all colors.

Perfect shoes for people with perfect feet like mine
If you don't have a weird foot shape or biomechanical problems like overpronation, supination of flat feet, these shoes should be almost perfect for you in all respects (all people have different foot shapes, so one shape can't be perfect for everyone). In fact, I like them even better than GEL-Venture 6 that I also bought. Like GEL-Venture 6, they are a little bit too wide for me (while D is way too narrow), but this can be addressed with thicker socks or simply by tighter lacing. Also, GEL-Venture 5 has slightly less material in the toe box which is good because I feel empty space in GEL-Venture 6's toe box. ASICS GEL-Contend and GEL-Venture 11.5 4E are the only two models that fit my foot which is wider in the mid-foot area. ASICS seems to be the only manufacturer who takes actual human anatomy into account.

Great Value in a Sturdy All-round Runner
I originally purchased a pair just to walk around in, but ended up taking for a jog while traveling, and a couple years ater I have bought about 4 pairs. Before you think, 4 pairs in 2 years, that sucks, let me explain. I am pretty heavy for my height and put a pounding on a shoe. When i was much lighter and ran distance and XC, a pair of asic gel lite trainers would last me about 3-5 mo before being completely broken down. thats insole, upper, and outsole all showing wear and degradation. fast forward 20 years, and i dont run distance, but I do cross train among other things, boxing. Now conventional wisdom says running shoes are not for cross training, let alone boxing, and i generally agree- softer EVA midsoles and cool tread patterns for running aren't designed for heavy static loads and twisting pivot motions of boxing. But after doing it anyway, I found that this shoe was built like a tank, and could take the abuse. The fact that i had to ditch my first pair completely grimed up (saltwater, sweat, and mud) without any wear showing on the outsole or upper tell you its a tough shoe for the price. With the second pair. I had started more volume in the gym and after almost a year the pair i have is pretty compressed but still comfortable, with not a single part out of place. So this round I bought 2 pair to allow me to alternate, which you should do if you train daily, as it prolongs the life of your shoe a bit more than if you wore them every day. so in summary, i think this is a great all around shoe, probably not best for high volume road miles, but great for walking, and GP workout if you like the runner fit for that work. Solid construction, good lateral stability, and medium heel and low forefoot cushion.

I am glad I found these Asics shoes in my size
I needed outdoor running shoes for Summer volleyball. I am glad I found these Asics shoes in my size. And the best thing was they were on sale here at Amazon. The shoes offer great support and traction which reduces slipping while playing on grass. The shoes are also comfortable. I added new insoles to increase the comfort which will help with trail walking, running or hiking. I have tried and purchased many pairs of running shoes (Nike, Addidas, Saucony, New Balance, Fila) over the past 10 years and recently started to looking at Asics. I am glad I was able find and purchase 6 pairs of Asics running shoes and running socks this year alone. Once you find the right pair of shoes and socks that fit you can't help but order more. Great product, service and quality!

Great quality and reduced hip pain for my husband.
My husband loves these. They were recommended by his physical therapist to aid with the arthritic pain he suffers in hip and lower back after a severe fall he took a year ago. He says he could feel right away that these felt much better than his normal dept store quality of shoe. He usually wears a size 9 in standard brand shoes, but because of the better design of this shoe he is able to wear an 8. I was a bit afraid that I might have to return them since the 8.5 size was not available, and I was concerned this would be too small in an 8, but the fit was perfect. We will be continuing to buy this brand of shoe for him from now on. The do cost more, but the fact that they will last much longer than the cheaper shoes will pay for itself. And the fact that he is having reduced pain levels with the better quality and support from the shoe makes it priceless.

Perfect for my bad feet
I have very bad large feet. ASICS were recommended to me by a friend as a running shoe I should try. I have always worn New Balance but never really felt supported. The ASICS Gel Venture 5 running show is perfect for me. They are very comfortable and supportive. I cannot feel individual rocks and imperfections on the running surface when wearing these shoes. They also do not cause my feet and toes to go numb like some other shoes do. I am a casual runner, so the experience may be different for those who run a lot more often and further. I usually stick to the treadmill, elliptical, or neighborhood route for 25 to 30 minutes of high intensity work, 5 days a week. The fit is as expected and the quality and price are unbeatable. I will certainly buy again.

They are very comfortable and the second time I wore them
These running shoes are worth every penny, even though I don't run in them. I am a walker and they fit perfectly without any problems of slipping or blisters. They are very comfortable and the second time I wore them, I walked 7 miles all over Chicago without a single issue. I just may get another pair but in a different color. You can't go wrong with this shoe.
