What a fantastic product

Fantastic. These scissors may change your very existence, at least in the context of making food in your own kitchen. Scissors are such a fantastic way to cut virtually everything, and yet due to naturally repeating cognitive processes, it is unlikely that most people will think to use scissors to cut everyday foods, like cutting herbs (if you're into that kind of thing) or even cutting your home-made flatbread pizza. These things are great, especially because they come apart for consistent cleaning the dishwasher. Coming from a big AmazonBasics fan, where 75% of the products are amazing (keyboard, these scissors, most cables, etc) and 100% are affordable, these are definitely in the amazing and affordable categories. Bravo, highly recommended to everyone.

They work well

Bought these to replace a pair that disappeared when my mom moved out. These are not as smooth actioned as my old pair, not as refined and finished. But they are sharp and get the job done. Easy to separate the blades for washing.

Heavy-duty enough to completely deconstruct a turkey. Comes apart for complete cleaning and disinfecting.

Shears...for the most part...are all alike. There are two things though that a pair of shears you'll use on poultry must have: 1) They need to come apart for complete cleaning, and 2) they need to be sturdy enough to cut through bones. These shears meet both criteria quite well. With the size of the blades and distance between the handles and the pivot, these produce more than enough force to cut the backbone out of a turkey.

Sharp, sturdy and very durable!

These kitchen sheers are fantastic. Sharp and sturdy and the best part is being able to easily unhook them in the middle and throw both halves into the dishwasher for sanitizing. I have cut chicken breasts, and pork chops with these and they slice through easily without killing my hands. Way more efficient than using a knife. I highly recommend!

I may have to start wearing these around my neck

Love them. I'm buying a second pair so that I don't have to scrabble through the washed dishes to find the first. They've done everything I've ever asked them to, and kept their edge. Now mind I haven't cut tinfoil with them, but chicken? No problem. Neither is paper, twine, tape.

Works like more expensive brands. Scissor sides stick together when cutting.

*These are affordable enough to get several pairs. (I like to keep several pairs in the kitchen so that if one pair needs to go in the dishwasher, I have another pair to use.) *Works just as well as higher priced brands. * The two scissor sides stay together when cutting which can be problem with some other brands.

Great kitchen shears.

I needed to replace an old pair of kitchen shears that I screwed up. I bought two of these. I love these. They are sharp! And I only buy the shears that come apart so I know for certain they come clean when washed. The handle feels good in my hand. My whole family uses these shears. Not one complaint.

Sharp, easy to clean, perfect.

These look, feel, and work great. They also fit in what apparently is a scissor holder on the back of my electric can opener. We wanted something that comes apart for the dishwasher and this works great on food and packaging alike.

These are fantastic scissors, very substantial and they work very well. I was surprised by the price, because I was getting ready to pay a little more to replace the ones we had but this one had all great reviews. Not only are these better than the ones we had, but I LOVE that you can take them apart (maybe kitchen scissor technology has come a long way since the last time I bought mine, but this is just a GREAT added bonus for me!) VERY lucky that I saw everyone else's review ... thanks as always!

Great value in quality, easy-care kitchen shears

I love kitchen shears and ask a lot of them--from boning a chicken to opening a package. Upfront let's just say that these are not going to compare to the German-made $100+ shears. But for the cost, these are amazing. Here's why: 1) They are excellent quality both in materials and manufacture. Not the best in the world, but very, very good. 2) Value and economy. These are low-cost, and if they didn't work well, they wouldn't be worth a penny. But they perform far better than what their price would indicate. So yes, they're a bargain. 3) I'm particularly fond of the shears that come apart so they can be easily cleaned. These separate easily when you want them to, but stay securely together when you need them to. The instructions say to hand wash only, but I put them in the dishwasher, and they've done fine. 4) Some reviewers have commented that these aren't sharp. That has not been my experience. Again, compared to shears that are 15X the cost of these, they will fall short. I have boned chickens with no problem, and the serrated edge one one side and curved indent in the lower part of the shear facilitate that kind of job. See below for what it's not so good at. 5) As a bonus, you can use one side as a bottle opener. A little frivolous, but why not? Be as multi-purpose as possible. CONS: 1) When I was wrapping a gift, I grabbed these shears to cut the wrapping paper. They'll do it, but the things that make them great as kitchen shears, make them awkward at finer work like fabric and paper. All in all, I love these shears. They do a great job, and I don't feel like I have to treat them carefully because for the cost I can easily replace them if I need to.
