  • Life After Diapers: Converts from Diaper Pail to Trash Can

Used to have a diaper genie(worst diaper pail ever) we bought this because the foot pedal opens the lid so hands free and no mess. Plus the little bag cutter is fantastic. No scrabbling for scissors or fighting the bag through that diaper genie hole. And it can fit regular trash bags although we do go through those much faster than the decor bags. this is a life saver. Anyone considering a diaper genie over this.. Get this.

Using this in a small bathroom for adult patient. Fits in nicely, caregivers like it a lot. Easy and sanitary disposal of waste is a plus. So far, the odor-free promise is working.

These work great. We got 2, one for the nursery, one for downstairs. Keeps the smell in pretty good (not perfectly, but good enough), easy to use, looks good. Best feature is the bag replacement system - allows you to change bags at any time.

I've never used a Diaper Genie, but this seems to be a nice alternative. A little cheaper, refills are a little cheaper, keeps the smell out, easy to use. I don't love the bag feature (you have to tie the top and bottom) but it's not awful. It fills up every week and a half or so with my 2 month old at home full time. It looks nice enough to have out near the changing table as well. Note: I tried to use this with regular kitchen trash bags. It does work, but regular bags to not mask the smell nearly as well. I decided it was well worth the money to buy the refills instead.

Just got this diaper pail last week and I love it. It is so easy to use and I love how you don't have a ton of extra steps to perform when throwing the diapers away. I haven't noticed any smells at all and that's impressive considering I'm holed up in our bedroom with our 7 week old twins all day and night (controlling the environment with humidifiers for their winter congestion). The only downside at all doesn't have anything do with the product, but rather the fact that we're going through tons of diapers due to twins! I would definitely recommend this trash can. Way less plastic waste than the twisting kinds and it controls odor like a champ!

We spent two years with the Munchkin arm and hammer diaper pail. It seemed fine enough but it was annoying to get closed and honestly didn't hold the smell in very well. We got this one as a cheap pail for our playroom when our second babe came along and I feel so sad that we suffered with that other one for two years. I literally cannot find a negative to this pail. You just drop the diaper in the hole! No pushing with all your might to get a lid closed as you're holding the baby with the other arm. And I like that it has a little latch to lock the trapdoor should our baby get a little explorative when he's older. And I thought tying off the bags would be annoying but that whole process is a cinch. I have recommended this to every new mom I know. Diaper pails are hard to buy for the first time because you just don't really know what features you'll want or need, but this one has it all for such an awesome price.

I clean the cat litter daily and have been frustrated by what to do with the plastic grocery bag of used litter I was accumulating until trash day. No matter what I did with it, it still smelled up whatever trash can and general area I stored it. This diaper pail works great. I keep it right by the litter box and every day I just slip the bag of used litter through the spring door in the top of the can. The inner sleeve liner and seal around the lid keep the odors in the can all week. On trash day I used the handy cutter to cut off the top of the liner and knot it to seal in seven days worth of used cat litter. I do yoga in that area of my home and no longer have to put up with smelling the used cat litter. Works great.

This diaper trash can is the best thing what I got. I used it for baby diapers. You cant smell it. It holds a lot of diapers. You can throw away used diapers whenever you want without spend a lot plastic bags.

Bigger than I was expecting and I like the design. I didn't know the liner was scented so I have to find some that aren't because I hate fake smells. I thought maybe the whole thing had been sprayed so I washed the outside and wiped it down with a lavender essential oil but I could still smell that gross powder smell. So if I can smell that inside the trash I am sure I will smell the diapers. The design is nice, when it's full you pull the bag out and it has a cutter on the door and then you tie off the end of the bag instead of changing it like a regular trash. I looked into a lot of diaper pails from 30-80 dollar range and they all have pretty much the same pros and cons so I figured I'd go with the cheaper option that is still a good design. What is even the point of scented bags? Nothing will make the odor of a diaper smell better and when you put fake smells in the mix it's usually much worse. That's my fault because I didn't read the part where it stated they were scented. It's not totally hands free because while it has a foot pedal to open the lid, there is a little knob that you turn to unlock the hatch and then you shove the diaper in that way. You can leave the knob in unlock position, but I think it may be a bit more air tight if you leave it locked between uses. It's not a big deal though. Overall I like it. Edit: Still want unscented bags but this definitely keeps the smells in. When you live in a small apartment and you can leave for the day and come back and not smell poop then it's working. Holds A LOT

After reading many reviews, we decided on the Dekor Classic for our diaper pail. It is a fantastic product!! It works very well keeping odors contained and is easy to use, change bags, and clean. We have had comments from several visitors (including my mom, who is quite honest with us) that they can’t smell any diaper odors in our daughter’s room. I ordered a 2 pack of refills in addition to the bag sleeve that comes with the Classic. Our daughter is just at 8 weeks, and we are just about to install our third bag refill, to give an idea of refill life. She is exclusively breastfed, so I can’t speak to diaper odors from formula fed babies or those starting solid food, but we are more than pleased with this pail. I also like that it could be used with regular bags and can be used as a trash can later. I think it would be great for scooping the cat litter box. Will update if our opinion changes, but highly recommended at this point!!
