I had a clog in my toilet that I could not snake out. I had to physically lift the toilet up and flush out the item from the bottom side. Once I broke the wax seal from the toilet and cleaned off the wax, I used the Fluidmaster and screwed the toilet back with no problem. It was 100% EASY!!! It saved me time and money. Great product and great value.

I could not as yet find anything negative about the fluidmaster universal better ring. It was not only easy to use it was literally the easiest toilet installation I have ever done and I have used just about every type of "wax ring" there is but this thing is just light years ahead of everything else. One of it's best perks in my opinion is the way it holds the bolts while you are doning the mounting of the toilet bowl. Flexible enough but tightly enough that the bolts stay right where you need them. Second NO WAX MESS!! I will also bet if I have to redo that flush, ever, it will still be able to use again.

I'm a girl, I have never installed a toilet before. I've heard horror stories!! I was scared to death... and it worked!! I'm super pleased!! Very good purchase for me!!

So much easier than using a wax ring--this device makes installing a toilet truly a one-man job.

I love these toilet seals and they are reusable. I had to use two since I 1/2 " hardri boarded and tiled my bath floor.. theyre amazing and not messy like the wax seals. Ive used them on all 3 of my toilets and not one leak, worth the money..

60 year old cast iron flange was in good shape but 3/4” below floor. Following the instructions, two of these filled the bill. There were a few false starts due to the old flange but when everything lined up it worked well. This replaced old wax rings, installed by a plumber, that leaked.

Bought this for a leaking toilet. Upon pulling the toilet up, the old wax ring was the obvious source of the leak. Flange was under the floor level, but not by much. According to instructions, I then used the spacer piece and the gasket/seal piece. Comes with plastic washers to help hold up the bolts, which was nice. I put the toilet in place once, pulled back out and inspected. Things looked ok, so put back in place. The width of the spacer and gasket/seal made the toilet push off the floor a bit, but applying some weight to the toilet while tightening the nuts brought it back to rest on the floor. Everything sealed up fine - no leaks. Was working in a bathroom that was about the size of a normal public bathroom stall, so there was no room for a second person to help seat the toilet, so the extra forgiveness in getting a toilet properly seated with this product over a wax ring alone was worth it. I'll never use a wax ring again if I can help it.

My toilet sprung a leak and after talking with some of my older, wiser colleagues at work they immediately said " Oh replace the wax ring!" well that sounded like a daunting mess so I did a little looking and found this product and figured it wouldn't hurt too much to give it a try. I am glad that I decided to get it. It was a breeze to install. The hardest part was getting the last bolt on as I had trouble getting my dominant left hand behind the toilet to get a good grip on it but that is in no way the products fault. Start to Finish I was done in about half an hour including clean up. Only time will tell if it holds up long term but for now I can flush with out water on the floor and that was what I was after.

We installed laminate in the bathroom and didn't want to deal with the waxy mess of a traditional wax seal. Our laminate flooring was level with the toilet flange, so we used the black spacer along with the blue seal. At first, I thought the toilet was going to be wobbly; but I had my 10-year old son stand on the toilet seat to provide some extra weight to compress the spacer's foam. Toilet is now completely flush with the floor and there are no gaps or issues.

This gasket is awesome! I've always hated installing (or reinstalling) toilets because of the messy wax ring. This thing works great - I used this type of gasket on two toilets - no leaks and no toilet wobble. I did not use the extra spacer thing that came with it - I predict that may be what is causing leaks for others?
