I was looking for a product like this, for my parents

I was looking for a product like this, for my parents, who live in the country and have limited options for internet. Because of where they live, cell service is somewhat hit or miss. I stopped at our local Verizon store, and they let me take ($50 deposit) a demo unit to try before I purchased. They tried it for a weekend, and it worked perfectly! We had multiple devices connected and were watching YouTube videos without any issues at all. Because I/they don't like contracts, I purchased this item at Walmart. Set up of the device and a Verizon account was easy and done within half an hour. I added a prepaid data package, directly from the website, using a credit card...but you can also use Verizon prepaid cards, purchased from any store. NOTE: VERIZON GIVES YOU 60 DAYS TO USE YOUR PURCHASED DATA, while others give you 30 days AND no roll over. A big plus to being No Contract is, that should they use their allotted data before the 60 days, they can purchase more data. THEY DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT OVERAGE CHARGES OR BE THROTTLED BACK!! For some reason, I cannot see the data usage on the Jetpack display, but a quick login to the Verizon site, gives you that information, and keeps track of your online sessions. In the month that they have had the Jetpack, it has worked flawlessly. They did have an issue a week ago, where their data was deleted. A call to Verizon, we were informed that this same thing happened to many Jetpack users. The rep (American) was able to reset the account and gave them a full 5gb of data! Pretty sweet if you ask me. Overall, this is a great internet option for people in remote areas. Data isn't cheap, so if you are a online gamer, or stream music or video, this may not be for you, but for the occasional internet user, this is a great option...and...it's portable!
