Great product, highly recommended. It's small but you can feel the quality immediately. I use it not only for nature walks and bird watching but also for finding addresses in locating people as an insurance adjuster. I can read the numbers on a mailbox from my car to confirm I've got the right house. I find binoculars too cumbersome for such quick use. The Roxant Mini Minocular is quick and easy to use, and the image is bright and clear, living up to its High Definition billing. The focus adjustment is smooth but not too loose as some others I've used. Only one problem: My wife often steals it from me for bird watching in our backyard!

The scope arrived today, a day late because the shipping got screwed up. I suggested to Roxant that they just use UPS and abandon the "SurePost" option, and they told me this is Amazon's decision, so bear with me on this aside: where I live, USPS just leaves a package by my mailbox on the road where anybody can toss it in their car, while UPS puts the package on my back deck. The post office is 3 miles from my house and the UPS truck drives by after dropping the package off at the PO for them to deliver. Hello, Amazon? In terms of full disclosure, I was offered an additional scope for free by Roxant for my comments to them in an email on their product, which I did, and they then implored me to post my comments as a review. The following is my opinion of the product, which I would have posted without any inducement by Roxant. I am using this scope from my second floor bedroom to scan the 12 acre meadow next to my house for wildlife- most recently we have seen turkeys, a porcupine, deer, and a black bear. I can see clearly to the far corner of the meadow, and if I need more power, I have a pair of Swarovski 10 x 42WB binoculars in the living room. I really like that a carrying case, cord, and wipe were included. The fact that this scope is small and lightweight is a huge advantage, and I look forward to taking it with me when I walk. I would definitely give this as a gift, and would suggest for the quality, this is under priced. Keep up the great work!

At almost 78 years of age, I am still an ardent amateur photographer. So, when I read your narrative about lower power vs. higher power optics, it made perfect sense to me. Using a high power telephoto lens or optic will exacerbate camera shake, so much so at times that, unless you use a tripod for stability, you will end up with a really “fuzzy” picture or a video that bounces all over the place. I bought the optic for an upcoming trip to Hawaii, so that my wife and I might be better able to see some of the spectacular waterfalls on Kuai. I wanted something relatively small and light weight. When I came across your product, I thought, “Why not?” I must admit, however, I did not have very high expectations for the quality of your Mini Scope. But, I am delighted to say that I was wrong. I am truly impressed. I believe it is an excellent buy! The materials used in its construction appear to be of good quality and the entire optic/monocular just has a good feel to it. I am very pleased with the purchase. FYI The backyard of our home borders a natural preserve and, for the past few mornings, I have been using the Mini Scope to get a better look at the variety of birds that live in or visit that preserve and the feeder in our backyard. I am very much impressed with the clarity of the Mini Scope. Very sharp, clear and well illuminated image. The eye piece is easily adjustable and the lack of weight makes it an easy-to-use and comfortable optic – kind of a natural telephoto extension of your eye.

Wanted something small to take when traveling. For enjoying the view and watching wild life. This works great for my intended use. Arrived quickly and in perfect condition. Included a case and a cleaning cloth. When purchasing the ROXANT Mini-Monocular I also purchased a Carson Mini-Monocular to compare. They are about the same quality and price. Either is a great purchase I highly recommend. They are about the same size, smaller than I expected for the viewing quality, amazing. The Carson is only three inches long! The Roxant is slightly shorter (see my comment regarding the eye cup) which might be the reason for the slight difference. The Carson is a little heavier and because of its shape and a little wider, not as conveniently sized as the Roxant. However, the shape is very comfortable to hold. And the extra weight makes it FEEL as though it is better quality. The packaging on the Carson was very difficult to open. The Roxant was in a simple box, no problem! The eye cup on the Carson is a longer, at least twice as long as the Roxant. This makes the Carson easier to use (and slightly longer). When I hold the Roxant against my eye, in bright light, it reflects my eyelashes. Making the Roxant a little more difficult to use than the Carson. The Carson can be rested on the eye socket. Therefore, it is easier to hold the Carson still for better focus at a distance. The Roxant case was much smaller and more convenient than the Carson case. However, the Carson case is made of canvas and I'm guessing a soft polester interior. The case from the Roxant is either plastic or rip stop (hope it is ripstop). It also has a soft interior. But does not appear to be as good of quality as the Carson case. Roxant High Definition Ultra-Light Mini Monocular Pocket Scope Pros: a little smaller, light weight, small case, decent quality Cons: shorter eye cup, more difficult to focus, case quality? Carson MiniMight 6x18mm Pocket Monocular with Carbiner Clip Pros: small, light weight, decent quality, good quality case, easier to focus, comfortable to hold Cons: case larger than needed, packaging was a nightmare to open

The Roxant mini scope is a fantastic little piece of kit. I am pleasantly surprised at how well it works. I spend my free time outside camping, kayaking, hunting, fishing, sailing, and pretty much anything else you can think of. I became tired of carrying binoculars because they just take up too much space, so I decided to buy a monocular. I did my research and narrowed it down to 2 options. I purchased a higher end $100+ scope, and the Roxant mini... When I received them I did a comparison, and found that the much less expensive Roxant was just as clear as the “high end” scope. Because of its size, the viewing area of Roxant is somewhat smaller, but that is ok since it’s small size also lets you put it in your pocket and you forget that your even carrying it, while the other scope weighs 10X as much, and is bigger all around so I’d be hesitant about taking it everywhere. I don’t have any complaints about the Roxant, my only suggestions would be some other color options, and lens caps so I can just throw it in my pocket or bag and not have to worry about dirt and scratches... In short, I would definitely recommend the Roxant Mini Scope for everyone, regardless of what their activities are, because the size is perfect and the price is a steal, and because you never know when it will come in handy.

This a small monocular, 7 X18. It's the sort of thing you can carry daily, out for a walk or just a quick grab for a look at wildlife in the yard. It would have been ideal for our rim to rim hike across the Grand Canyon a couple of years ago - minimal weight and volume, very important to backpackers, This is the third Roxant product that I own and like the others has very clear optics. Now for such a small optic. expectations must be realistic. With an 18 mm lens, it's not very bright for low light such as early AM or late PM. And as small and light as it is, it's best used where you brace your hand or arm to hold it steady. But in any case this little monocular in your pocket is much more effective than that pair of 10X50's you left at home, Also I found the eye cups to be too short to really fold down for eye glasses so I remove my glasses to use it. Not really an issue for simple correction but might be for those with astigmatism.

Cool for hiking and camping. Surprisingly solid for such a small scope. Fits easily in a pocket or backpack. Safe purchase.

My son loves this monocular! He has a form of either stargardt or cone dystrophy eye disease and thus is having trouble seeing things now that traditional glasses don’t work. We have been searching for an easy tool for him (a 9 year old) to keep around his neck and use at school, outside, sporting events, etc… Traditional binoculars are too hard to use since bulky and most of the binoculars magnify too much. The 7xs magnification on this binocular is perfect. Just the right distance for zooming in on a board at school, score board at a baseball game, people on stage at a concert, his sister at her basketball game, etc… The monocular is small and lite enough for him to keep around his neck or even tuck in his sweater/shirt or a pocket. It is easy to adjust and there is also space to label your name on it. This is a great tool at a reasonable price compared to the ones that the low vision specialist had which are hundreds of dollars and insurance doesn’t cover.

I used the scope when I saw Paul McCartney in concert. It worked great! We had good seats, but I was actually able to see Paul's hand and the chord voicings he was using. I also plan to use it when my wife and I hike. I'm very, very satisfied. The carrying case was a good bonus, too. I truly enjoyed the scope for another reason...a few years ago I suffered a detached retina. Them things hoit! They fixed my eye, but, as often happens with this kind of operation, they were unable to restore perfect sight to my eye - everything looks a little tilted and I suffer from double vision as a result. The upshot is, I can't use binoculars anymore. This is a perfect remedy to my problem. Thanks for making a quality product. Addendum to my original review - This is the second scope I've bought from Roxant and I couldn't be happier. I've seen Paul McCartney in concert, and cardinals, blue-jays, and many other birds from the heights of Stone Mountain and Mount Currahee (from HBO's Band of Brothers). The small size belies the power and fine optics inherent in this excellent piece of mini-tech gear. The belt-loop carrying case is lightweight and perfectly functional. I sincerely recommend this monocular, and the Roxant company. A great product and wonderful customer service.

Over the years, I have amassed quite a collection of optics ranging from high powered spotting scopes and astronomical telescopes to miniature folding binoculars and pocket scopes like the Roxant. Small devices are better than nothing at all, but are usually hard to use effectively. They tend to be too dim, have too little eye relief, and are hard to keep focused on the object viewed. The Roxant is different. The image is bright and clear edge to edge. The magnification and field of view are the best balance I have seen to track a moving object. Focusing is easy and the depth of field is good. In short, the Roxant has none of the vices I have come to expect in miniature optics. The build quality is very good . It weighs little, but has a solid feel to it. The focus ring works smoothly without binding. It has proper (non-"ruby") multi-coating, which contributes to the brightness of the image. It disappears into a shirt or jacket pocket and is ready for use when a larger device would be inappropriate or simply too bulky. In short, I am thoroughly impressed with the Roxant mini and just bought another pair for Christmas gifts. Thank you for providing such an excellent device.
