Very well liked toy. Better than I expected.
My grandson loves this toy. He loves building the structure and then knocking it down. I would have thought this toy would be one of those toys that they play with once for a while until they get bored and then it gets put away never to see the light of day again. However, that wasn't the case. He has played with this toy off and on for days and is still enjoying it. It's a simple toy, no special technological effects. Just a fun toy and your child's imagination is all it takes. He likes this so much I plan to get him more addons for it for Christmas.

A Simple Premise & Lots of Fun!
The 5 star rating for this toy is directly from my 8 year old grandson who absolutely loves playing with it (and absolutely love his granny for making that possible). I think the beauty of this toy is its simplicity. No electronic gadgets, no gizmos, no fancy building blocks and complex instructions. It is an easy-to-assemble (even for an 8 year old to accomplish all on his own), older-looking 5 story schoolhouse. The toy has one objective. Create the building to knock it down. Simple. But to an 8 year old, it is the ultimate fun. The schoolhouse has already been built several times over and every time it comes crashing down there is a big production announcing the demolition. The demolition (by the wrecking ball, which is on the included crane) is followed by sound effects, excitement, a big grin, and then laughter. It is the big grin that warms this grandmother's heart. This is an old-style toy in a high-tech world. And it works. Beautifully. Definitely a winning toy. Five stars from Grandma, too.

Nephews Give it 5 HIGH FIVES!
WHOLLY COW! I'm the best aunt in the entire universe. I really didn't even get a chance to test this cool toy out myself before it was ripped from my hands and instantaneously demolished. Well, the box was anyway. Talk about getting your frustrations out. I was worried about the sturdiness of the thick paper but it held up against "HULK SMASH" quite well. (Imagine two boys screaming this repeatedly as they build and demolish ... repeatedly). Granted the toy doesn't bother me one bit because I don't have to live with the noise of the boys, but it really can be a quiet toy if you just shush the exited kiddos as they play. Really though, I don't see how this cannot be for all ages (even adults). It's not so hard to assemble and the kiddos improvised a lot. Who cares about directions when you are kid, right? And since I'm Aunt of the Year, I'm happy.

Even more fun is combing both sets and making even larger structures ...
We have an earlier smartlab demolition kit, which has three 'bombs' that you can use to knock out tiles. This kit mixes it up a bit, instead of the blasters you get a crane that you can swing at the different structures. The intent is still the same, you get a bunch of tiles, some instructions and you build up your structure, then you release the crane on it and boom. Even more fun is combing both sets and making even larger structures that get blown up. The setup takes a bit too long for my three and five year old but they are getting better, and even helping. They of course love to wreck it.

Well done fun
Great game. It is a relatively quiet, smart, building toy. It reminds me of building card houses with decks of playing cards, then knocking them down with a tap. There are no pieces flying everywhere like implied by the dramatic pictures. It is a great hand-eye coordination, building game. My 6-year old lego-maniac LOVES this toy. It is well made and a great alternative to violent toys at an age when boys just want to be destructive. Demolition happens. :)

Lots of fun, easy to play with and assemble. Heavy duty - will last a long time.
This is a very well made, cleverly thought-out toy that's fun to play with and learn while wrecking the building. Wrecking Ball (insert Miley Cyrus joke here) is great toy. Build the structure and wreck it. The ball telescopes in and out, the panels are sturdy (thicker than coasters), the clips that stand the panels up are decently heavy, and the cable that makes the ball work is steel - not plastic or string. Picture a heavy duty house of cards that you knock down with the wrecking ball. Make a large 5 story building with bell tower, or several smaller structures. Read the included book and learn about the science behind wrecking. Plus - big bonus - batteries not needed! Since I also enjoy exploring abandoned buildings (and, yes, abandoned schools are chock-full of stuff like books, chairs, lockers, lab equipment...) this also struck a chord with me.
