My son's favorite toy!
We bought this for our son a little while back- he's now two years old- and this has, by far, been his favorite toy of all times. He brings it out at least three times a day, puts it together, and plays in his happy little world until I ask him to put it away. And it's such a great quality toy! He's received a few more of the additions, and everything that comes from Brio is consistently fantastic. Highly recommended!!

Quality Toy
I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. She loved it. Even though it is tempting to buy a larger set, this one has just the right amount of tracks and train cars for a child of that age. It is a gift I felt really good about giving, it's fun, educational and of good quality. Someday her kids might play with it.

Gift for 2 year old
My 2 year old received this railway set for his birthday and he is nuts about it. Every single morning - no joke - he will pull us on our hands to his train set to play with it. It’s probably the first time he has been consistent in having a favorite toy he keeps coming back to. Perfect age I would say is 2, because he can build tracks and use it well. I hope to add on to his “brio” collection and I’m glad that they are many different pieces/sets at different price points whenever someone is looking for a gift for him.

Two cars equal less frustration
Perfect starter set. My two year old grandson loved it. The included train is just an engine and 1 car, and I thought that might not be interesting enough. But his mother says that it is perfect because he gets a little frustrated when the cars detach. With just two cars there is less breakage and he can learn how to play and keep it together with less frustration. I plan to add more track and cars a couple of months later.

Worth The Extra Money
I originally bought a cheaper knock off version of a train set for my kids and when it came I was so disappointed that I bought the Brio immediately. The difference was truly amazing! The Brio is super high quality. It all goes together smoothly, the bridge is amazing, the entry and exit way pieces make a huge difference for beginners, like my two year old who can’t quite get a train on the track alone yet. The magnets are strong and do work in both directions so there’s much less frustration for little ones. Looking forward to expanding our trains with more Brios.

This is a good starter kit for a young child who loves trains
This is a good starter kit for a young child who loves trains. It's not a very big track system, and only two cars, but for my toddler, this is enough to entertain him without resulting in a giant, uncontainable mess. As he gets older, I will add with compatible pieces and trains. Nice quality.

Toddler-approved! High-quality, fun train set
My 22-month-old LOVES this set and runs for it immediately when he wakes up. We bought it along with the BRIO My First Railway Starter Set, and together, it's enough track and "elements" that it keeps his attention for a good while. I will say that he was very frustrated at first until we showed him repeatedly how to get the trains back on the track when they come off and how to put them back together. He does still need us to reassemble tracks when they come apart, but he's quickly learning. For now, it's mostly a toy we have to play with along with him, but eventually, I can see him spending lots of time playing independently. Yes, there are cheaper train sets, but BRIO is truly the highest quality and we expect to have these for years to come.

Super great product from BRIO
I have bought Brio toys for almost 35 years now and I have NEVER been disappointed! I bought this cute train set for my 2 year grand-son and for almost a year now he still is dragging the trains with him to the doctor,s office or church or park :) he’ll be three soon and is now better in putting the tracks together 😃

Very high-quality wooden train set that's safe for young toddlers
This is a great beginner set for a budding wooden train enthusiast. Brio makes a small number of "My First Railway" sets that are designed for younger toddlers (roughly 18 months). These "My First Railway" sets are nearly identical to the other Brio sets, but the trains and cars are constructed in a way that minimizes the likelihood of any small pieces falling or breaking off. For example, the magnets that connect the cars are fully enclosed beneath a plastic cap that is fused to the body of the car, so the magnet cannot come loose and become a choking hazard. The tracks appear identical to those found in other Brio sets. The track pieces fit together well: not too tight, but not too wobbly once connected. Included are several "ramp" pieces that allow train cars to be rolled onto the track from whatever surface the track is on. These are a nice touch, especially for small hands that may have difficulty getting the train cars onto the tracks otherwise. One of the track pieces is an over/underpass with a springy colorful section on the top. It doesn't really "do" anything, but I like that this piece is included because it helps teach concepts like "over," "under," and "through." There are two train cars included with the set: one is an engine, and the other has a clear cylindrical drum that can spin around and is filled with colorful beads. You really don't need more than two cars for a beginner set like this. You can always expand if your toddler seems to enjoy the train. Overall this is a very high quality, well constructed set that provides a wonderful introduction to the world of wooden trains! It isn't cheap, but with Brio you definitely get what you pay for. This set will be around for a long time.
