I purchased this to replace a plastic spigot on a Brita 18 Cup UltraMax Water Dispenser. After just under 2 years of use, the plastic handle snapped off. The Spigot, the included washers and nut, all fit great except for the outside. I was not able to use the second silicone and plastic washer on the outside as the shape of the container did not allow it. I could have used the silicone washer by itself on the outside and it would have conformed to shape but instead I used the washer on the original plastic spigot instead for the outside. Even without the optimal setup, it still seems to work great with no leaks at all. I've included pictures of the broken plastic spigot and the metal one after it was installed on the Brita dispenser.

I purchased this to replace the crappy very-narrow spigot on this beverage dispenser from Amazon:http://www.amazon.com/Style-Setter-210987-rd-Beverage-Dispenser/dp/B00DUPTU6M/ref=sr_1_1?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1461211227&sr=1-1&keywords=Norfolk+Beverage+Dispenser%2C+Red (fortunately I only paid $18.99 - I see it's now being offered for $35.19 - YIKES!). I bought that dispenser for my kombucha brewing. But the spigot was so small it clogged way too easily with even tiny strands of yeast and barely produced a trickle if not clogged, which was a pain too. So, after reading the reviews for this spigot, and the fact it was stainless and that the flow rate was so high, I gave it a try. I'm very pleased I tried it and look forward to it lasting a very long time.

I agree with a previous poster that said " it`s the best 10 dollars i`ve ever spent". This is a very solid piece of metal hardware to replace the cheap black plastic spigot that I have used for a decade on my Berkey water filter. I wish I had known that there were other options available years ago. This spigot has a tight seal and the water flows out smoothly, quietly and superbly. To turn it off, the lever gets turned completely to the right. and best of all, there is not a single drip or dribble of water once in the shutoff position. Exceeds my expectations. Thanks.

Why don't the manufacturers of all of these water dispensers use these spigots? You pay a crapload of money for these glass vessels and they put cheap chrome plated spigots on them that break after a few times. This spigot is amazingly solid for the price and definitely adds value to your glass water dispenser.

The original plastic (nylon?) spigot that came on my porcelain water dispenser was almost 10 years old. It still worked just fine, but at that age I was concerned it might fail creating a big mess in my kitchen. The flow rate was acceptable. Not great, but acceptable. So I came here to Amazon to find a new spigot. My first try was for a different stainless spigot, sold by the same company that sells this one that cost about $4 more. It was beautiful spigot and the valve was super smooth to operate. My only complaint was that the flow rate was a bit slow. If you were just filling a glass or water bottle it wouldn't be a problem. But I keep a 1/2 gallon pitcher on my counter, so I wanted something with a good flow rate to fill it quickly. I returned the other spigot and got this one. It does not leak, the valve is smooth, and best of all the flow rate is just what I had hoped for. I can highly recommend this spigot.

This spout is a great buy. I was able keep using a water jar that I love after the original spout quit working and at a fraction of the cost it would have cost me to replace the jar. Plus, I would never have found one I love so much as this because they don't make them anymore. BUT this sweet spout doesn't come with instructions, so if you, like me, know basically nothing about putting a new spout on, be sure to use one of the washer/metal rings on the outside and one on the inside. I know that probably seems obvious, but I thought it was just a spare. A couple of gallons of water all over my floor told me different!! Enjoy!!

In the community center here we have had a glass beverage cooler for years (before I got there) which everyone complained about. It leaks, it's hard to turn, the "chrome" is peeling off. Sheesh.. just replace it with this unit like I did. End of all the problems. It is solid, heavy, all metal construction with an Easy to Use handle which Does shut off properly. The other one would just keep drooling for hours (leaking). It is normal for all valves like this to "dribble" a tiny amount that is still in the spout after being turned off, which is not a leak. The seals are silicon and well designed, unlike the originals which were plastic junk. Another notable difference is that this valve is easy to clean too. The inlet is quite large since it is metal. The locking nut is also metal and has washers to compress against the silicon seals. Be careful to not over tighten this unit onto a glass beverage jar.. unlike a plastic valve, this one will not break before the glass does if you are over zealous with tightening it on. The silicon seals do the work.. not brute force, just make sure they are centered in your jars hole properly. Great investment, we are buying more to replace them all.. even the plastic ones not leaking yet.

I got this spigot to replace a metallic paint coated plastic one that was on a 2-gallon glass dispenser that I am now using to ferment kombucha. It installed easily, but I was little concerned when I noticed a little bit of "play" in the dispensing lever, as noted by an earlier review. I also was unable to tighten it at all using the phillips screw on the top of the lever. I figured in a worse case scenario I would swap this spigot out for one we have in another larger vessel that we've been using daily for three years to dispense our drinking water. Upon closer examination of that older spigot, however, I realized it appeared to be the exact same model as this newer one. It looked identical and had that same bit of play in the handle. I just had never noticed it before. I guess we have a tendency to micro-examine new purchases looking for potential flaws rather than allowing the flaws to reveal themselves. Been using this new spigot for a week now with multiples turns of the lever and it is flows nicely and shuts off completely with no drips--just like its older brother. No flaws have been revealed. Glad I got this.

Awesome! Good flow...much better than the plastic ones that came with my nice dispensers!! Great quality.

Let's face it: the spigots you get on most glass water carafes SUCK. Why they do that I don't know. Anyway, ours broke and it's summer, so I did my OCD-level researching, and this came up highly rated. There were some really crazy bad reviews; maybe that's quality control, but here's my experience: this thing is well-built, heavyweight, cleans easily, flows nicely, and is all-around solid. We've had it for two months and have done teas and infused water and just plain old water, and it doesn't retain any odor or flavor. Make sure it's seated as tightly as possible with your hands, or it'll leak. Don't take it off and on, but just fill it with hot soapy water and run it through, then use clean water and run it through to rinse well. No soapy or other aftertaste like with the plastic ones. All-in-all, this little thing made a $60 carafe better than it was when brand new. I'd recommend it anytime!
