Not bad tasting, light weight, and a great shelf life
I opened up the vanilla malt flavor and they weren't bad at all, it kind of tasted like if you had one of those powder coffee creamer and condensed in to a round tablet. It is also portable, light weight, and a great shelf life, the expiration date on the package I got says "Best if used by 09/2040." On a side note, I got my order twice by mistake while only being charged for one order and when I offered to return it, customer service said I can just keep it so I can also appreciate that. If you are looking for something to put in your bug out bag, camping gear, etc. you should considered these. One more thing to add, I think these will be good to supplement whatever main bug out food you have, like others have said, these alone may not sufficiently meet the calories requirements that you may need. The packaging says, 12 Tabs per serving, the calories are listed as 240 (amount per serving).

Great temporary food substitute!
I love these tabs! They taste great, and can be consumed quickly and without water. they crush easily, and dissolve quickly. I'm keeping a few in my purse, so if I'm out somewhere and suddenly feel too hungry, I can eat one or two of these quickly, and have time to get to a restaurant or get home, without getting a hunger headache. They're also going in our 72-hr bags, although we won't use them as sole subsistence.

A Must Have For Your Bug Out Bag
I have tasted all 4 flavors and they taste great. I followed the full 8 day instructions and took only the survival tab, water and my prescribed medications. For all 8 days I didn't hardly feel hungry at all. I had plenty of energy to set up a camp site, gather fire wood and take some hikes in a wooded area. The only challenge I felt was knowing that I wasn't going to have a meal of actual food but that is a mental challenge, not a physical one. I wanted to really give these survival tabs a test so I next went on a 6 day camping trip and only used half the recommended number of tabs each day. (6 tabs instead of 12) Instead of taking a tab every hour I took a tab every other hour. I only noticed a little hunger starting to show on the 4th day, but I keep to my test. I was able to stay on the 6 tabs a day while still doing all of my camp chores and had plenty of energy. I think every individual should have the 8 day supply of these survival tabs in their bug out bags because used as recommended they will have no problem feeling hungry of or a lack of energy and they can stretch the usage for up to 16 days if they feel the need. I also talked with one individual that went a full 30 days eating nothing but these survival tabs and other than loosing 15 pounds of body fat he had no problems at all. This is why I highly recommend this product to everyone I know.

Will work!!!
They taste great. Read the directions for them and take properly. These will help you get through the day if hiking, out camping, stuck on the side of the road or something. They are a great snack as you are walking and gives you just a little bit more energy. If forced to survive on these as your only source of food you will be tired. These will not sustain you for very long unless paired with other nutrients. I tested it out for three days. By day 3 I was feeling more tired than normal. However, I was still able to function and do normal tasks. I would recommend these for survival if paired with MREs and/or canned foods. This will keep you alive but will make you feel tired if these are your only source of food. Made me lose weight though!

Not just for survival in the wilderness.... works for Alzheimer patient stopped eating solid food.
Cannot tell you how happy we are to discover this product. My mother has Alzheimers and has stopped eating solid food, the only thing she accepts is milk and we stir in a tablet (which we pulverize and mix with a bit of warm water before stirring into milk). Unfortunately my mother will not accept Ensure or Boost or anything like that but the Survival tablet stirred into the milk works fantastic, also you can compress one tablet with 240 calories into less liquid even just 2 - 3 oz, which is more likely to be finished rather than a 8 oz of Ensure which has 220 calories.

25year shelf life, light weight, good vitamin source.
I’m an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. I’m these are a must have for emergency food. They taste pretty good. Each tab is only about 20 calories but it’s the vitamins that make them worth their weight in gold. Butter scotch isn’t bad at all.

Taste like Freeze-dried Ice Cream and kept My Fitness Pal happy
I've just started training again after recovering from an injury so I'm on a higher protein-to-carb ratio for 6 weeks. I've had a butterscotch tablet at 2,3, and 4 in the afternoon 3 days this week and they kept my mind off snacking, (but I snack for flavor, not because I don't feel full). They have the consistency of butter mints to me. Somewhat. A little harder. Or really, really dense Astronaut Ice Cream. At the end of those days when I looked at my nutrients, I still had carb room for bread and popcorn to hit my fiber goal without going over on calories. Excellent! You couldn't and SHOULDN'T use these as a permanent meal substitute or a crash diet plan. They're vitamins with some carbs, protein and fat to keep you from becoming dangerously malnourished in a pinch (and keep you from going too crazy). They have no potassium for your heart and a day's supply has only 30g carbs, which is 100 less than an adult needs to keep from burning muscle to fuel your brain. (An adult brain needs about 130g worth of carbs daily to turn into fresh glucose quickly enough to function, otherwise your body will start digesting itself to use amino acids for gluoconeogenesis and you won't be able to think straight while you're waiting.) They're emergency supplements, not Soylent-in-a-tablet. I wasn't planning on eating them every day this way, but it's nice to know they're there to keep my stats somewhat balanced if I go someplace where cake is being served. I'll probably stick a pack in my husband's kayaking gear since they're light, take up little space, and aren't prone to damage. My mother also wants to try some for snacking reasons, so I'll need to get more for stocking stuffers. The main advantage to getting these for a DIY emergency kit is you can put a tub in your basement and forget about it for forty years. You're going to want to add something like meal bars or a trail mix featuring dried apricots or banana chips and rotate them out before they expire if you want a full range of nutrients. The nice thing is they'll give you something to look forward to every hour when you're under emergency stress, but if that's not an issue for you, you could easily use a bottle of multivitamins. instead.

I was interested in the reviews of people eating them ...
I was interested in the reviews of people using these on camping trips. I have opened all bags to test and have started using them as a meal replacement for lunch (one on lunch and one on each of my breaks). They keep me full and I have energy for my busy work day.

Surprisingly good
I bought these for a bug out bag. While opening the box I had accidentally sliced open a bag of the vanilla flavored pack. I took this opportunity to taste a tab I was surprised at how good they are. They're sweet, a bit chalky, and have a very unique flavor almost like Ovaltine. One tab was enough to satiate me if I was hungry. They don't give you a lot of calories but will provide all of the vitamins and nutrients needed for survival or an emergency situation.

good for what they are
I like them and so does my daughter. They do have a slight dry milk taste, but the flavors mostly cover that. I tried eating just them a couple of days at work. They took the edge off of my hunger. I think they would work great in a survival situation and will keep you satisfied and not feeling hungry all day. One every hour, as the package states, works very well. I wanted to give the seller a good review, but accidentally sent a review of the seller below it in my orders page - sorry.
