A Softer Happier Bunny Awaits
My bunny LOVES this food. Ok, let's be real, he loves food of any kind, especially yogurt treats, and carrots, and power cords, carpet, furniture, and the occasional bite of the end of my sock. But, he really loves Sherwood food--and who wouldn't? It smells so fresh! His fur has never been so soft and shiny, and I think he is even less crabby since we has been eating this... And maybe I am crazy, it wouldn't be the first time I have heard that, I think his litter box is less disgusting as well. Try it and see what you think.

Convenient size of a fantastic food. Frank and Otis love this!
Excellent food for rabbits. I usually buy it in bulk directly from Sherwood Forest, but I was running low before a weekend and wanted to make sure I had more than enough food on hand while I waited for my direct order. I'm thrilled Amazon.com carries these 4.5lb packs. I'm keeping an extra one on hand for emergency evacuations (we live in Florida and it is hurricane season), as this size is so convenient and easily transportable. My rabbits love this stuff. I love that it is made by a small company, with good transparency, they have a true enthusiasm for our rabbits (and now guinea pigs too) and their health and these pellets don't have soy in them, which is important due to the needs of the humans in my home (we have g6pd deficiency and avoid all soy exposure).

Even WILD bunnies LOVE this food! Magellan Approved!
We have a wild cotton tail rabbit that has been a guest in our home for 3 years now. We rescued him and his brothers and sisters when they were 3 weeks old. All lived and we were able to return everyone to the wild.....except for Magellan. As the weeks went by, the others became very afraid of us (PERFECT), and their instincts kicked in. Not Magellan. He would climb all over us, still gets on top of the sweeper when we try to clean the carpet, and worst of all he badly wants to play with our dog. He will cry and try to dig under the door to get to our dog. Nope, he won't last too long if released. SO, we had to undertake trying to figure out how to keep an adult wild rabbit healthy and happy. We purchased every kind of hay we could find. He still will not touch hay. He will eat fresh cut grasses, but as soon as they dry out, he won't touch them. SO, all summer we had to do that for him, knowing that we were going to be in trouble once winter set in. We tried EVERY kind of "rabbit food" we could find, he wouldn't touch ANY of it. He did not even recognize it was food. Thank GOD my wife found THIS food. We purchased the small bag at first, and I was amazed that when I opened it, IT SMELLED LIKE GRASS! It LOOKED like compressed grass pellets! Magellan came over and was checking it out, so I poured some in my hand and he ate it like a treat. I freaking fell over. He LOVES this stuff. Over 3 years later, and we have a perfectly happy, healthy house guest. He litter box trained himself right off the bat, has never ONCE had an accident (OUR YORKIE CAN'T CLAIM THAT FOR SURE!) on the floor. We did have to safety wrap EVERY cord in the entire house because if he sees a cord he MUST BITE IT IN HALF! We think he must think it is a root or tree twig?

I cannot recommend the products and the wonderful owners of Sherwood pet ...
I truly wish that I could give more stars. I cannot recommend the products and the wonderful owners of Sherwood pet health more highly. In a nutshell, we are very concerned about my sick bunny, Percy, whose problems were not resolved by the first veterinary visit. While I have found and scheduled an appointment with a veterinarian that I found through the wonderful HRS site, as well as through background checking, reading reviews, etc, I wanted to do as much as I could in the interim to improve his health and nutritional intake. I began to research higher quality pelleted diets, and was immediately drawn to Sherwood products. They seemed to have a really strong ethical and personal commitment to the health and care of bunnies, their ingredients were absolutely top notch, and the hundreds upon hundreds of glowing reviews made it an easy decision, so I immediately placed an order. Percy's problems are not those that can be eliminated solely through dietary ammendments, but a supremely high quality food can only help him! I. Posted on instagram a picture of Percy with a description of his ailments and issues, and tagged HRS, Tampa house rabbit rescue, and others in it, asking for advice to guide us and to help alleviate our fears until the vet apt Monday. Cindy (I hope. That I'm spelling her name correctly!!) immediately wrote back and suggested trying a product for critical care of very sick buns. I responded with gratitude, but that with Percy's anticipated very bills, my sick kitty's vet bills, a broken down car, etc, it just wasn't something that I could afford, and she immediately wrote back and asked me please call them so that they could send me some, FREE OF CHARGE. What kind of company does that?! Cares so much about the animals that they design food for that they were willing to help me, some random girl on instagram, this way. I called and spoke with Bob, and had a wonderful, long conversation with someone who is obviously deeply committed to helping people and their animals. He even asked me to send an email to him detailing all of the problems so that he could speak to an associate knowledgeable in such things and offer better advice. I am blown away, in awe, and beyond grateful. The food is amazing quality, dark green, fresh, with a delicious odor and amazing taste (yes, as weird as it sounds, I actually tried a pellet, and it was wonderful! I'm vegan, and now I can honestly say that I eat "rabbit food" lol! Well, just that one time...). Anyway, the point of this rambling post is this: premium product, phenomenal owners who give amazing customer service and who work with rescues!! It's a no brainer 😀 I'm a customer for life! Thank you, Bob and Cindy!!

his waste was still very strong
We've had our adult male bunny for five months. When we adopted him from someone in our neighborhood, he arrived with a HUGE container of food that his previous family had just purchased. Until I got this bunny, that was his main diet. He was overweight and his urine/poop had a very strong odor, his litter needing to be changed everyday to keep the scent down. I did my research, though, and changed his diet to mostly hay and fresh veggies with some pellets to supplement. Despite the diet change, his waste was still very strong. His coat was constantly shedding. About 2 months ago, I decided to switch his pellet food. I found a list that rated rabbit food and this brand was among the best. None of the highly rated foods were available at any local pet supply chains and so I checked Amazon. I was fortunate that this was available. Since changing to this brand of pellet food, his waste odor is not as powerful and his coat is much silkier-- for the first time since we've had him, he hasn't been shedding! He really enjoys this food and he is now maintaining a healthy weight.

I talked to the rescue organization and they highly recommended keeping her on the Sherwood pellets
I have three rabbits- an English spot, a Mini-Rex, and a New Zealand white. I had been feeding two of them Oxbow pellets but when I adopted the third she was eating the Sherwood pellets. I tried transitioning her from the Sherwood to the Oxbow but she wasn't going for it. I talked to the rescue organization and they highly recommended keeping her on the Sherwood pellets. I ended up transitioning my other two rabbits to the Sherwood and they LOVE it! Their coats are so much shinier and I feel like they're shedding less. The ingredients are so much better than other pellets brands I have seen. I ordered the 10 lb. box this last time around and it says it was manufactured on 3/24 and we received it on 3/27. Super quick shipping and the pellets smell very fresh. I'm very happy with Sherwood and I feel like I'm making a good decision for the health and well-being of my rabbits.

The nutritional value is amazing. The fact that it is subscribe and save ...
You can smell the freshness!! The color is vivid, the smell is strong and fresh and my bunnies.... well the bunnies practically turn flips for them! The nutritional value is amazing. The fact that it is subscribe and save makes it even better. As a side note- the employees care quite a bit and are very educated. They have flown out to a few of the House Rabbit Society conferences that I have been to.

These pellets are safe for rabbits! New and ALL Bunny Owners Read this review for more bunny care tips!
These pellets helped make my young Polish rabbit's coat thicker and more luxurious, plus his urine stinks a LOT less which is amazing. Rabbit urine (especially male buns) can almost beat a skunk's stink, so anything that can naturally lessen the urine stench is much appreciated. My rabbit won't eat these pellets unless there is no more of his favorite pellet, which is "Blue Seal Show Hutch Deluxe Rabbit Food" found at countrymax(dot)com I mix these two brands together for him and when I added the Sherwood brand, I noticed great improvements to my bunny's coat and level of stink of his urine. There was no tummy upset when mixing these two and these are the ONLY pellets I trust. Giving various types of hay and grasses in unlimited amounts and supplementing with good pellets like these (1/4 cup for small breeds and 1/2 cup for larger ones daily, giants need more obviously) is the best diet for rabbits. DO NOT use treated lawn and park grasses! Even with untreated lawn grass, there are worm/parasite issues - best to buy your hay/grass from good sources like Oxbow, Small Pet Select, and American Pet Diner. Even Dr Foster and Smith hay is good too. Never buy/feed ANY cereal-looking / colorful muesli-style rabbit food! AVOID those types like the plague! I can NOT stress this enough. In the past, I stupidly fed those fancy colorful muesli-style to my last rabbit because she loved eating them and she died from painful bloat. Good healthy food hardly tastes as yummy as the bad unhealthy junk food out there. Be firm with your bunny and get them to eat the good pellets (as a supplement only) like this Sherwood brand and the Blue Seal one (Blue Seal is more for show rabbits, but any rabbit can benefit from it). Remember unlimited varieties of hay and safe grasses should be given first then a small supplement amount of these pellets and of course, unlimited clean water (use a water bowl/dish - I use "Lixit Animal Care Rabbit Feeder/Water Fountain, 48-Ounce" from Amazon). The bun will drink more if you use a crock, bowl/dish, or better yet a water fountain. You don't have to get those fancy ones made for cats and dogs, but you can. I just use the Lixit one since there are no filters to buy and it's easy to clean. Your bunny may live to his/her teen years (17-18 years the oldest so far recorded) if you follow the right rabbit diet and having the bunny indoors helps too (you can interact with them better and have them to be more part of the family), though I had buns live plenty long outside too. It really depends on the bun and diet/stress factors/conditions. Highly recommend these pellets and they last a long time being in a resealable foil-ish bag! Nice and fresh. No regrets and no tummy upsets.

Five Stars
Best rabbit pellet on the market! My Two buns Love it..so Fresh! My newest rescue bunny, #3, who had been used to eating junk turned away from it initially, but gradually mixing with his old food, he developed a liking for it. Now he Loves Sherwood forest,! also Timothy and Oat Hay (he used to turn up his nose to hay as well) along with organic greens 2x a week. Sherwood forest also makes digestives which I highly recommend. I give one a day to each bunny as maintenance. So if your Bun doesnt go for it right away, give it time, mix it with his old food, sprinkle dried cranberries on it, be creative..He/She will eventually turn around. Their coats are so shiny, more attentive, and run around more. We are what we eat..feed you bunny the healthy goods!!

Healthy bunnies
I have three bunnies. Two of them are 16 weeks old. The male is separated from the mother and its sister. The male is eating a pellet from Tractor supply called Dumor. The other two bunnies are eating the Sherwood pellets. It took a while to get them used to eating the Sherwood pellets, they don't like them as much as much as Dumor rabbit pellets. However they seem to be thriving on the Sherwood adult pellets. They like the adult pellets better than the Sherwood baby pellets. Their fur is so much softer vs our other bunny that is eating Dumor pellets. As a side note I feed the bunnies twice a day with their pellets, and unlimited hay. The pellets last several hours before they are gone. With the other brand Dumor they ate their ration of pellets within 10 minutes. No doubt it is better for the rabbits to eat the pellets throughout the day, instead of gobbling them all up in a few minutes. I truly am amazed at their fur. I read the reviews about how the quality of the bunnies fur improving and thought that people were exaggerating, but they were not. The Pellets seem pricey but i want our pets to be healthy. If the Sherwood pellets keep my rabbits healthy I think it is cheaper to buy high quality food than it is to take a sick bunny to a vet.
