The Vizio 38" 2.0 sound bar was very easy to set up and sounds great. Some have reported that their Cable or Satellite remotes don't work with this sound bar. My Xfinity X1 remote has a setup for audio device and it recognized the sound bar and turns on and off with the remote as well as controls the sound volume. To do this just press the setup button on the X1 remote until the red light turn green then enter the code on the screen. From there follow the instructions for TV and then the system will ask if you want the remote to control your audio device. Follow the onscreen instructions and it should work. The sound is very good for under $100. It is very clear and not too much bass. In fact I have the bass set for less than 50%. When I bought my 55" Vizio M series UHD TV I ordered the sound bar at the same time. After hearing the sound on my Vizio TV I was going to cancel the Amazon order for the sound bar because the sound was much better than I expected from the TV but decided to try the sound bar anyway. It sounds even better so I decided to keep it. The fact that my Xfinity X1 remote controls the sound bar made the decision for me.

LOVE this sound bar!! Super easy to use once it's set up and the projection is excellent! You can really get bang for your buck and great sound that should be more than plenty! I bought it for my 70 inch flat screen in my living room and I'm more than pleased. Big bonus: if you haven't tried Vizio before, you'll be pleasantly surprised. Their products are quality and I can't rave enough about their PHENOMENAL customer service!!! I'm not kidding hands down the best I've experienced and it has now made me a Vizio customer for life. Highly recommend !!!

The sound quality on this is just fine for movies. I like not having to deal with a separate sub. If you're looking for room filling sound for a theater, look elsewhere. If you want something to give better, consistent, full sound with minimal installation hassle, get this. It is a vast improvement over my Samsung 55" TV. Also, the DirecTV remote will reliably work with this (after a bit of reading online). The bar has auto shutoff. To get it back on with the DirecTV remote, simply up the volume once you program the remote.

I live in a NYC Co-op apartment. Those like me all know that we always have crazy and overly sensitive and nosy neighbors (upstairs) who like to evesdrop on our tv when it’s on. They always waned to know what our tv was playing. This sound bar really saves our lives. I turned off the tv speaker using tv remote accessing the tv menu, then the sound only came out from the sound bar which is placed under the tv and one shelve lower so the sound only comes to us right in our face instead of shooting up against the ceiling and the walls behind tv (the drawback of the modern flat panel slick looking tv). The sound would be blurred if our neighbors upstairs really have time to try hard to figure out what our tv is saying. Really happy with this sound bar. The sound we heard was crystal clear and showed depth. To us there is no need to add additional subwoofer, but in case you are serious on getting the professional level (like in a theater or concert) then perhaps you need one. This sound bar itself really provides enough treble and bass. I recommend this sound bar if you want to turn around the tv speaker sound to you and really hear it clearly, this is a good one!

This sound bar DOES have plenty of bass. I just about turn the bass all the way up and the treble all the way down on everything I have. I'm somewhat of an audiophile especially when it comes to bass. This sound bar has PLENTY of bass and it comes through clearly. If you want to rattle your room then yeah you may want a subwoofer, if you want good clean easily heard bass, it has that.

This sound bar was bought to be used with my TCL 4 series. Like most all TVs the speakers were not very good, at all. I'm definitely not an audiophile, but I do like to enjoy decent audio when watching movies and shows. But I'm not willing to spend hundreds of dollars on a crazy 7.1 channel setup. I looked at a lot of brands that I'd never heard of but that seemed to have decent reviews. But with a $100 budget, many of the choices were ugly to me. I like the look of the vizio sound bars. The reason I chose this model of the smaller $75ish 32 inch vizio, is because this model had DTS AND Dolby(the cheaper one only had DTS). This one also has 2.75" speaker drivers compared to 2.5". I honestly don't know how much of a difference any of that really makes, but I am really happy with my decision. I like that it comes with all the audio cables needed for the different inputs. I'm using optical, but it's nice to have the coaxial and 3.5mm to RCA cable if needed later. No support for HDMI ARC, but honestly if you need that option you'd probably be buying a more expensive option anyway. It does support Bluetooth if you want to stream audio from your mobile device. There are buttons on top of the sound bar for basic control, the included remote is needed for things like turning on and off the surround option and adjusting the bass/treble. There is a line of white LEDs down the left side of the front. This is just for basic feedback to tell you what the volume level is and for displaying what input you're using. Some people have complained about this and said that it's confusing. I found it to be simple and easy to understand. The sound quality is really a step up from a normal TV. I was really impressed, and I think most people would be happy with it for $100. There is an output for a subwoofer if you want to add one. I think that it has enough bass for most people, but I'm glad there is that option. I don't think you can do much better for the price. I've been using mine almost daily for 2 months with zero performance issues. No rattling or defects, so far.

This sound bar has very clear and well balanced upper and midrange. No need to adjust those levels. Other reviewers noted that the bass is lacking, but that's what you should expect and that's exactly what I was looking for. I have a wired subwoofer that I like, so I wanted a sound bar with an RCA subwoofer out. Very few still have this option. You're just stuck with the wireless sub that they come with. I got a 150watt powered sub at the thrift store for $5 (a steal) to go with this and I'd say it sounds like a $200-300 system now. Sub volume follows sound bar volume perfectly. I ran a long cable to the sub (25ft), through the crawlspace to the back of the couch, by using an old piece of coax cable (cable tv type) and some screw on RCA adapters for the ends. You can get crimp ends too if you have the compression tool. I get no static on the bass signal and it shakes the couch during movies! I mounted the sound bar at knee height and I get good room filling sound without loud spots when standing next to it. That makes it good for a party music too. The wall mounts leave just enough room to run cables behind and into the wall or up to the tv. Adjust the mount buttons a 1/4 turn out until they drop all the way into the cleat without too much force. If they are screwed tightly into the sound bar, they don't want to go all the way in. Only one good sheetrock anchor or stud is necessary per bracket, the other can be a wood screw just barely tightened. The inputs are a really nice feature too. Both coax digital and optical digital in is a nice touch that others don't have, plus 2 different analog inputs, AND a really good bluetooth connection that connects quickly and sounds as good as any other source. Without an LCD display, it's a little tricky to get set up, but the manual is good enough. Once set up, the lights are extremely unintrusive. Only 1 dim led remains lit after a volume change to indicate that the unit is powered on.

Sound is awesome. The manual suggests that optimal sound quality is best when you can place it level with your ears. And they are right. It sounds different if you sit off center or are standing. I like that they include multiple cable options to allow you to find the best match to your TV. I happen to have a Sony that doesn't seem to transmit sound to external speakers so I ended up connecting to the DVR box using the digital coaxial cable. The downside of this is that I have to use two remotes, my cable remote and the Vizio one. And I find that when I turn off the TV but not the cable box, sound continues to pass through. If you want to see exactly what comes with and what it looks like, check the Vizio site and click into the Quick Start guide and watch some of the set up videos. I still can't figure out some of the remote buttons. There is one for TruVolume and one for TruSurround. Both seem to give a boost to the sound although I can't tell why I would choose one over the other. You can even click on both to get extra amplification. My only frustrating is that the remote is SOOOO small. It's even smaller than my Amazon FireStick remote. Because it's not backlit, I sometimes mistakenly click on the Bluetooth button or the Input button instead of the volume increase button. I like to watch TV without a lot of lighting so going by feel is what I try to do. Makes for frustration when trying to get sound back and it's a live show. A little extra space between the volume/previous-next buttons and the top row of settings would help prevent this. This 38" model doesn't seem to be too big. Although it sticks out over the TV stand, it's not a distraction or hazard. I am replacing a Philips model that was spotty in performance. Much happier with this one.

This sound bar is nice. I place this sound bar in my living room, and it made a difference. Now, I was not looking for a loud speaker, just something that would raise the ability of the sound coming from my tv. It went above and beyond. Its not like sorround sound but its still makes a difference, i can hear everything and all over my first floor. So if you want a nice, crisp, loud sound without all the sorround sound hassle, this is the way to go.

This sound bar is excellent. It is compatible for use with a subwoofer, it has multiple ways of hooking into your TV (optical, RCA, the orange cord thing), It is Bluetooth compatible so you can play music from your phone and such through it, settings that allow the surround sound to be on or off, setting to auto adjust volume for louder or softer parts of film or game. The sound is great. Distinct and clear highs that aren't piercing or screechy, easily heard midrange to ensure that full spectrum sound in music, and excellent deep bass that gives those hearty booms in movies and the hard hitting bass. If this speaker did have an area it lacked in, id say that it would have to be its bass. It doesn't handle the bass of rap songs very well that really really deep bass that is native to Hip Hop. But that is fine with me because this is just a soundbar. That's why it has hookups for a woofer. The woofer is for that deep and resonating bass. The soundbar's bass is just to contribute to the sound. The sound bar also has adjustable treble and bass settings for those who like to get picky with their sound settings.
