Worked for me to keep my home office in the basement warm during spring and fall
I bought this space heater to feel a little bit more comfortable in my home office in the basement during spring and fall time when the furnace doesn't run because it's warm enough upstairs. And it does the job quite well. I bought it through an Amazon Warehouse deal and got it for about $54 instead of the average $90. It is a very quiet heater. If you run it at low level (750W), I almost can't hear anything. As it stands on the floor I had to play a little bit with the temperature control. It seems that it didn't shut off at 68° though it was already 71/72°. So I did set it to 65° to keep the room temperature around 68° in normal seating position. As warm air moves up it makes sense that it's always a bit cooler on the floor. It also seems the heater still continues to heat until it reaches +2° of the set temperature. So you might want to keep that in mind if you set up temperature control.

Excellent Product
We've tried all kinds of fan-based heaters, and this is by far the best one. When run on 750 watts, you can hardly hear it at all. On the 1500 watt setting, it makes a little noise, but without question it is the quietest fan at that level that we've tried. Overall quality is very good. Heats up a room very quickly on the high setting, and maintains temperature well at the low setting. We now have four of these, and we are very happy with them. I would mention that we received one with a fan that wasn't working properly. We did an exchange with Amazon and the new one is fine. I should also mention that the literature that comes with the product mentions that it has traveled a long way and gives instructions on checking it out when you first use it (which takes about 30 seconds, it's not a big deal). So I guess Vornado knows that the product can arrive out of kilter, and they are proactive about letting the consumer know. I appreciate that. And I have little doubt that if I had contacted Vornado they would have made the exchange with no problem. But it was so easy with Amazon, I went that route instead. The bad fan was picked up at our house by UPS the next day and we had the replacement two days after that (Amazon paid shipping both ways).

My tiny needed heat!
I've never written a review before, but felt very compelled after buying the Vornado AVH10 Vortex Heater. I'm a fairly new owner of a tiny house on wheels (300 total sq. feet). Propane is used to heat my house. I didn't ever feel safe keeping the propane on due to safety and that fact that it could run out and I wouldn't have hot water. I'd come home to a chill and have to fire up the propane heater. By the time the heater warmed the house, it was time for bed. I was also worried for my pup--can't have her freeze! I researched several heaters. My electricity can only hold 15 amps, so I have to be very conscientious about how much I'm actually using on each appliance. After reading the testimonials about safety around babies and pets with low wattage usage, I decided to try it out. IT'S A GEM! I cannot tell you how much I love this little heater. I can leave it on all day on low (750 watts/6 amps), set on 66 and come home to a toasty tiny. I don't feel unsafe leaving it on because of the safety features. When my dog is there, I also know that if she accidentally knocks it over, it will shut off. I'm so glad to have found this heater and this company--also, love that it's made in Kansas, USA. If you have a tiny house on wheels or any smaller area to heat, you cannot go wrong with this heater!

Heater died in less than 3 months with good care
Bought on December 15 from Amazon. Product has been working well. I use it to only warm up my bedrom and then shutoff the heater. It's fairly efficient, relatively quiet and gets the job done well in my bedroom. The controls are simple to operate and the unit overall appears to be well made. The heater died yesterday. Lights are on when I plug it in. However no heat on High nor Low settings - no matter how long I leave it plugged in. Set point temp is higher than room temp by at least 5 degrees or more. Fan doesn't turn and the heater doesn't heat up whatsoever. The fan setting also doesn't turn the fan at all. The heater element is apparently burn out. I have had this product less than 3 full months and the heater element has died. Buyer beware of this product. Update April 6, 2017 - Happy now. Company reached out to me and arranged for me to send my defective heater back to them. They gave me a pre-paid mailing slip for shipment. I sent the unit back and they sent me a brand new replacement unit which works fine! They honored their customer satisfaction with their 5 year warranty. Excellent customer service. I will be a return customer for them in the future. A company that actually does care about their customers - wonderful! Thank-you!

New Models are Great!
I have had a number of Vornado heaters over the last 20 years and the current models are the best. In talking to the folks at Vornado they explained that changes to the current model increase Low watts exit air temperature over past models. So you get 140 degrees air with only 750 watts. Also, this model is completely quiet with no fan noise. High Heat Watts 1500 Low Heat Watts 750 High Exit Air Temperature 140 Low Exit Air Temperature 140

This is best little heater I have owned by far. Worth the money if you need a reliable heat source
bought to replace an older DeLonghi heater that was sucking up the energy... This one works well, it is quiet, has a fan function and is powerful. Wish it had a remote and a better safety sensor. It is a very sensitive button on the bottom that barely works with carpeting causing it to turn off constantly. Also, every time it is moved or bumped. DeLonghi had a tip over sensor that worked MUCH better. But overall great little heater. Best part is that the previous heater turned off and on repeatedly to maintain a slight temperature range. I bought 2 Laskos and both could NOT maintain a temperature inside of 10 degrees which is ridiculous. This one adjusts the output constantly to maintain a temperature within a couple degrees. IT takes a little while to make adjustments and settle down, but it works amazingly so once it does.

Works great now that understand why it was not giving any Heat or Fan (thought was dead)
Update 2/17/2018: Unit continue to work well, really far better than the Lasko unit it replaces. Bought of two (returned first one already) of these until I realized the unit was not working due to a tip-over switch feature as described below (not because its defective). I found out what's going on. The tip-off switch on the bottom causes the unit to not have heat/fan for a period of time even though the display is still on. You can even plug in it and unplug it but tip-off protection still keeps it from coming on properly. I unplugged it, left it over night, and guess what next day all functions work flawlessly. So Do Not plug it in and then move it or set it down. You might set it down first, then plug it in. If you trip this, you'll need to wait maybe up to a day for it to clear. And then setup it up properly as i describe. So the unit will work if you don't trip the tip-over before you set it up. Yes it does give quite a bad smell first day, so vent your room for one day. Really has a cool feature to slow down when it reaches the room temp. Really like the controls, easy to use, now that i learned how to 'clear' the tip-over sensor that can keep it from providing heat/fan. Works great now.

The built in propane furnace and our electric fie place work fine but on colder nights with the over night lows ...
We live in a fifth wheel RV full-time. The built in propane furnace and our electric fie place work fine but on colder nights with the over night lows in the 20's, keeping the RV comfortable was a challenge. A portable electric heater was needed to augment what we already have in place. Safety was our primary concern so the auto-shutoff tipping feature and the fact that the unit surface does get hot were musts. Looked at the next unit up with the remote control we decided that was overkill (unless you like fiddling with the temperature setting a lot). The ability to step the temperature setting by degree gave us much more control. The built in thermostat keeps the output nice and even. The fan isn't at all noisy (specially compared to our furnace fan). We're using the high setting (1500W) without popping any breakers - even when we're using our electric fire place as well as running the microwave. Of course each RV electrical wiring is different but in our Carriage Cameo it's working fine. All in all very satisfied, specially when the overnight lows drop into the 20's. The only disadvantage we see is with the Vornado on, it affects the RV's thermostat to where the furnace doesn't kick in as often so our bathroom gets cold (but we do like the savings of no more frequent propane tank refills!).

Very impressive
I bought this heater to hopefully cut down on my gas bill. I have to say that it performs well above what I thought it was capable of and you can feel a significant change within literally a couple of minutes. I live in a small house but the heater is attached to the wall downstairs and didn't really flow well up the stairs and into the living room so we would have the heater on high for the evening hours and through the night without a real discernible effect. Once I bought this everything changed. Living room can now be potentially too hot if my girlfriend sets the temp too high. If I had to create a complaint about this heater it's that it is only a single unit and I have to lug it downstairs when it's time for bed.

Excellent Heater
This is a really excellent, dependable and quiet and very high quality heater. The digital control is superb and maintains a very even temperature in the room. The unique design of the heat circulation system really works well because the temperature is remarkably even if you are near the unit on or on the other side of the room. Yes, this was more expensive then some comparable units, but you get what you pay for. All in all, this heater is quality investment and highly recommended.
