We live in hot and humid Southwest Florida where the difference between summer and winter is only about 20 degrees. Working outside on our 2.75 acre property takes a lot of my time and energy. At age 69 I find that my body's resources and resilience is nowhere near what it was at a younger age. Staying hydrated, using sun protection, wearing hats, trousers, gloves and long sleeve shirts is very important. Sun poisoning is always a possibility as well as dizziness, nausea, insect bites, and plant thorns. But the main difficulty that I've had conquering is muscle cramps that dramatically come on in the middle of the night. They somehow seize both of my thighs at the same time, rendering me almost immobile even though the best thing is to keep moving. I drink all the right beverages including water and Gatorade/Powerade and have eaten Clif bars, Larabars, Kind, and others and still experienced incapacitating thigh cramps. But since I changed to Gatorade Whey Protein RECOVER bars the cramps have disappeared. Yes, they have 29 grams of sugar and 350 calories. They are not your casual snack and I wouldn't be eating them if I wasn't working outside six hours each day. Gatorade supplies these bars to the NFL, NHL, NBA, and MLB -- athletes who need to replenish and rebuild muscles for athletic recovery. It only makes sense that someone swinging a machete or running yard equipment in the hot sun would need the same type of fuel. By the way, the flavor of these Cookies and Creme is wonderful. And at $1.50 per bar they are a cost effective pain avoider for me. I'd pay a lot more for prescription drugs that would give me the same relief.

So I have tried all of the flavors and here's my ranking from most favorite to least: Cookies & Cream Chocolate Caramel Chocolate Chip Mint Chocolate Vanilla Almond If you like sweet stuff (like me) then you will love cookies & cream and choc caramel as those are the sweetest flavors. The cookies & cream is chocolate outside with this thin layer of white chocolate inside that is sooo good. I am on a healthy eating diet and had to cut the sugars and carbs so whenever I have that cookies & cream bar I'm in heaven. They keep me full for 2 hours tops so I like to have them after lunch to keep me going until dinner. They may be sweet but the whey inside balances it out quite well in my opinion and doesn't end up tasting like candy or "too sweet". The vanilla... I love vanilla but this vanilla almond is very weird tasting. It smells weird and tastes the way it smells. I can't quite describe why but it smells like processed/chemical-like almonds than it does like vanilla. All the other flavors are great though.

Got this at a great price. My son really loves this bar. He is at school long hours some days (college). It is a fast snack and very tasty. He is a very active young man into lifting and physical activity. The caloric content and sugar values do not bother me in regards to this protein bar. He is not getting enough food some days so this is a good way to push some protein and quick energy back in his day. I'm over 40 so I won't be eating these bars. I am not physically active enough and these bars are so good (like candy bars) that eating one and another would be calling me. My first introduction was a free bar from our local grocery store. When I ran the Weight Watcher numbers on half the bar AFTER I ate it I knew this was not something I could handle. total chocolate and sugar trigger. So be warned if you have issues over eating. The bars taste fantastic and are great for that person that is very active and can burn it off but has no time to stop and get a meal or just needs a fast pick me up.

Have done a lot of research, testing, and tasting over a large variety of "Protein" energy bars for a few years now. We keep a rotating stock of these in our disaster preparedness kits. High protein, low fat, reasonable sugar, good taste, nice texture, and reasonable price. They store reasonably well but a bit susceptible to high temps. Most competitors are really just candy bars or are cardboard. Do wish the Best By dates were a bit further out, but have found that using these as a quick breakfast substitute works most times. Was glad to find that Amazon ones had an equivalent shelf life remaining vs store bought; 5 months. Parents may find these as a solution to finicky breakfast eaters.

I'm addicted to these bars. High protein and filling. I use them as a quick meal replacement. These aren't the kind of bars that are chewy like taffy and that's why I like them so much. Gatorade makes another bar called "Fuel" that aren't nearly as good as these. ANY flavor is good. My favs are the Vanilla, Peanut Butter and Choc Chip. Carmel is more dessert-like and Mint isn't my thing. I save $.50 per bar over the single price at the grocery store.

I feel like I've tried every healthy and even semi-healthy bar on the market. I've even had to send some bars back because they tasted like wet cardboard or wood-paste. Seriously! I won't name names. But of all the bars I've tried, the ones I keep buying and keep buying are the Gatorade bars. First of all, because they are delicious--in both taste and texture. Secondly, because they are based on whey protein, which is the best protein supplement source for humans, from the research I've done. Now, even though these bars are scrumptious--both this mint chocolate flavor and the peanut-butter caramel one, there are two down-sides you might want to know about: the bars are large. For me, a small human (120, size 4), a half bar is as much as I usually need--a whole bar only when starving. Also, please note, these bars are not a low-calorie food--at well over 300 calories, this is not a supplement to be scarfed down willy-nilly. If you are using them as a meal replacement, I suggest eating half now and half later. But in any event, after having been so unhappy with so many other bars, I keep coming back to the Gatorade Bars--they meet the sweet spot for me of healthy ingredients, filling, delicious, and satisfying. Also, I love the mint ones more than the caramel ones because they aren't as sweet---but both are delicious, with no exaggeration. Gatorade has done a good job with these.

These are the best tasting bars out there on the market. I use these bars as a meal replacement or a snack in between meals. I work midnights so it is hard to get all the nutrition that I need. I feel great after eating these bars and my gains stayed the same. I have tried many different flavors and this one is my far best. It is not too sweet like many other protein bars on the market, and it contains a good amount of good calories and protein. I use these bars as a pre workout meal and my energy is great throughout my whole workout. I recommend Gatorade protein bars to anyone.

I've tried over the years, various protein bars. Now I am older, I need a bar that is easier to chew, a bit softer. I also need a protein bar that provides some energy. This product delivers 340 calories, so I do get some fat energy. It's also tasty, not gritty. My job is very physical, involves heavy lifting, and walking 5-7 miles a day. (I am a senior, not watching TV at home.) 20 grams of whey protein (not soy) is a plus. I bought the chocolate caramel crunch version.

I get these for my oldest son. He plays multiple sports in high school, which keep him after school for hours. He usually brings one of these to eat after school & amazingly, it tides him over. I tried a bite, and they are pretty tasty for a protein bar too.

This is the only protein bar that has never gotten old. It tastes like a candy bar "almost like a nestle crunch, but more puffy". It has more calories than other bars, but it is larger and fills you up.
