An amazing set of Monitors at a great value.

TL;DR - These are amazing. I'm very very very happy with my purchase. To start, these are packed very well. They are individually wrapped in foam paper, then packed in cut medium density foam corners (2 top sides, 2 bottom sides). The product box is inside a brown cardboard box that protects it during shipping, which is packed into another larger box that then contains the two speakers, and wires. The stands are shipped separately in their own box. Details: The knobs on the back are click-to-position knobs, not continuously variable. I personally like this. The HF Level knob goes from -2 db to +1 db, in increments of one. The LF Level knob range is -2 db, -1 db, 0 db, +2 db. There is no +1 db adjustment. The main output knob range is from -30 db to +6 db, in non-linear increments. The inputs on the back consist of an unbalanced RCA coaxial plug, and balanced TRS and XLR plugs. I'm currently using XLR to 1/8" RCA stereo to connect this to my PC. The isolation foam is Auralex MoPAD, and contains 4 moPADs and 4 adjuster wedges of 4 degrees of angle each. The stands are rather simple, but effective. They are just as the photos show, and appear to be powder coated, though I cannot swear to it. The locking mechanism is a friction lock that has the ability to be pinned for extra peace-of-mind. Yes, it comes with the pins. The stands also come with 4 wire guide clips. They are simple but effective. Opinion: On to the speakers themselves. While I'm not an audiophile, I work in a production environment, and down the hall from me there is an audio room with a 7.1 6" monitor setup, and after experiencing game audio in that arrangement, I knew I had to have that setup. So I've spent some time looking around and finally landed on these, given their positive reviews. I have to say I'm extremely impressed. The sound is clear, and wide ranging. I'm running these on a PC right now just to get a feel for them, and I really have to say I couldn't be happier. The low/mid from the 6" drivers is really nice, and the highs are clear and sharp. I have the main output set to about +4.5 db and my PC volume is at 75%. They are comfortably loud for a party, and probably a little too loud for how small my room is right now where I'm currently typing. :) I should probably turn down my PC volume a bit before my ears start ringing, but they just sound so nice. For those that like it, bagpipes sound amazing through these. I just can't get over how well this sound fills my office. As with any studio monitor setup, a good sub for really pushing those low frequencies is a must, and that remains true for these KRKs as well. Wrap-up: For just over $400, this purchase was probably better than any other audio equipment purchase I've ever made. I will absolutely be buying 2 more sets of these monitors, and another individual for center channel use. So, yes, I'm willing to spend another $1000 on these monitors. That should probably tell you everything you need to know.

My nephew said these are good speakers so...

I bought a Crumar Mojo organ and needed to buy 2 powered speakers and hardly any floor space. This whole package had everything I needed. They seem to work well ... so I'm happy with my choice.

Fantastic package

Great studio speakers. Fantastic quality and solid finish. Pure sound as described. KRK makes the best sudio speakers. The stands are fantastic and good quality finish. Using those with my Pioneer DDJ SR for mixing. Had to get XLR to RCA cables. Highly recommend those. They are pretty loud, although not as loud as the RP8s or RP10s as i would think, they are still good enough for a small indoor house party etc (10 to 20 people is my estimation).

Awesome Monitors

Definitly the Best Monitors in this price class, I use them everyday since over 2 years now, I have a home studio and the clean sound delivers pro quality.

Either way they do the job fine. The pads and speakers work great as expected

The stand bases seem to be a bit flimsy and I can rock the stand back and forth with the monitor on top (which is quite scary). I suggest tightening the screws much tighter than normal. this took care of the rocking. But these aren't samson stands so that could be it. Either way they do the job fine. The pads and speakers work great as expected. protection during shipping should not worry anyone because the krk monitors come with foam padding in the original product boxes. Best deal around hands down.
