I like these bags.
For the sake of reviewing two products in one, I'm going to compare Downtown Pet Supply Pet Waste bags and Gorilla Pet Waste bags. My experience with these bags is this: I use them to scoop the poop and wet litter out of my ferret's litter boxes. Downtown Pet Supply bags: For $18.99, you can get 960 bags. I bought the multi-color box because I like a variety in color. You get 48 rolls that each contain 20 bags. The bags are cute, but they are hard to open the individual bag. I find that if your hands are dry, you may experience trouble getting them open. The poop seems to stick to the bag wherever it touches which makes for messy pickup in the ferret cage. Also, there is no need for a company sticker on each roll. They should stay together fine without it. There is a plastic tube inside to help shape the rolls. This is wasteful and unnecessary. I did not use the dispenser because I keep a drawer full of bags next to my ferret cage. So overall the bags are cute, fun, serve their purpose, but slightly troublesome to use. Gorilla Pet Waste bags: For $14.99 you can get 1000 bags, 50 rolls that contain 20 bags each. The colors available are blue, green and black. There are no stickers hindering opening a roll. There is no plastic tube inside to shape the roll. No fun multi-color options or prints. They are basic. They open easily and the poop doesn't stick to the bag. I think after using a case of both that I prefer these and that is just my personal preference for the specific job I have to use them for. Environmentally speaking, I don't know which is better for the environment. I would say Gorilla's lack of plastic tubes is better but I don't know about the bags themselves. I also think that Downtown Pet Supply is a smaller business. If you like to frequent local, small business, then this may be the way to go. Gorilla is a large company that can afford to offer these bags cheaper. So that information may affect your preference as well. Personally, I'm going back with Gorilla brand because I don't care what the bags look like. I just want them to open easy. Otherwise both do the job.

Transparent but good
The good news is these bags are large, and they do not have a plastic spool in the middle. This is great because there's rly no way to repuropose the spools so they just wind up in the bin. You do not have to use the provided bag dispenser, although I do appreciate it being included. Any bag dispenser that is designed for rolls of bags that do not have spools work with these. Do not use a dispenser that is designed to work with bags that have spools. You will have a bad time. The less good news is they are very thin and see through. Not so thin that they will break while using, but you will definitely see smeared nasty poop. That makes the 'process' even less pleasant than it already was. Being thinner helps them break down easier, though, so I'll take the yuck factor to help the environment a little bit.

Love it. However....
Update: Down to my last roll! I have 3 dogs, I bought this box on October 19, 2015. The box lasted forever! On my way to re-order. <3 SO many bags!!! Love it. However, the number one reason I bought this one was because it is advertised on Amazon as being biodegradable with EPI technology. No where does it say that on the box. It does say it again on their site, however I'd prefer the information to be somewhere on the actual product or product box. It comes with a really neat dispenser. I really liked that. Each bag is perforated in the center! this is so smart and awesome because it makes it a MILLION times easier to cut and separate. I hate when I'm standing there, staring at poop... holding my dog, while i'm desperately trying to separate a bag from another.... and then it tears. Not with these though. Such a good design. And the dispenser it brings is designed to help you tear the bags apart with even more ease. The box was small and all the bags are well packaged for easy storage in my pantry. Overall I love it and will reorder. The price is great!

Good, Solid bags
These are good solid bags. I have used 500 so far, without one bag failure or defective bag. I have a 90lb and a 47lb dog. I have used many bags over the years. Some are weak, some smell terrible and some are difficult to open. I have no problems with these bags. The only thing that I think these bags are missing is some kind of marking to show the top of the bag. I usually look for the seam on the bottom. The dispenser that comes with these bags is nice, it rips the bags off leaving a tab to grab the next one.

Third time ordering over two years. Great bags.
Did the research of reviews and found this 1k box to be optimal value for our household. Are currently about 90% of our way through a box purchased over a year ago. These bags are almost always big enough to hold the poop from TWO CHOCOLATE LABS in ONE BAG. My girls are about 60lb/each. There are a few rare occasions when I need two separate bags. Will be repurchasing in a few months when our supply gets lower. Never had one break or tear on me, though my wife said there a defective roll that had many bags in it that did tear (otherwise would have been a 5 star review). Do not leave a scent on my hands of either poo or perfume (although I recommend washing hands anyway). UPDATE 8/2018: Just placed an order for our third box of these, no complaints. It is our go-to and even better deal than Amazon's choice. Updating to 5 stars as we have had less than 1% failure with these strong bags. Our complex provides free bags but they are flimsy.

If these bags are good enough for a gorilla
You would think that all poop bags are create equal...until you get a pack of poop bags that are the poops. We bought a pack of poop bags from ebay that were blue, opaque, thin, and didn't tear well from the roll. All things that you want to AVOID when picking up poop. When the sh@! hits the floor, you want to be able to have these things at the ready! Especially when its 50 below out and you don't want to have to take off your glove to unroll a bag for your friend's steaming pile. Well, that's what my husband and I had to do for 1000 steaming piles until we ran out of the other sh!@$y bags. Then I bought this brand. I thought, it's "Gorilla." Gorillas are big and strong and I can only imagine the piles they leave behind. If these bags are good enough for a gorilla, then they're good enough for my 85 and 65 lb dogs. And they are. They don't have a plastic core, so there's no waste after the last bag. They are thicker then the other ebay bags that I had, which keeps them from tearing as you handle them. AND they're BLACK!! After all, no one wants to see your walking souvenirs. So before you buy any ol' random poopy picker uppers. Consider that my husbandand I dealt with enough sh@! for all of us for the last year to tell you that you will want bags that are good enough for it.

BEST poo bags EVER!
I LOVE these bags!! No, really, I do! The last batch I bought I went with some lavender-scented, possibly biodegradable poo bags (their website was vague on that) and I didn't realize how much I hated them until I got these! Let's pretend that lavender-scented poop is better than regular-scented poop for a minute (it's not!). Those ornery bags wouldn't tear off without a struggle either! These lovely bags have a cut in the center to hook on the dispenser tab (that comes with them), which makes them SO much easier to tear apart, Gorilla dispenser or not. I put them in my other dispenser, too, for the other leash and they tear off just fine in the standard dispenser. No more standing outside while the mosquitos are making a meal out of me fiddling with those stubborn bags! And if you think the tearing off is the hard part, you've got another thing comin' when you try to open the dern things! I don't know what it is about the material those lavender ones are made of that makes them so hard to open but I left a review for those too if you'd like to check it out. I started getting a sore throat from licking my fingers to unfold one, then licking again (sometimes more than once) to open it. I'm thinking it was the lavender scented stuff on them, I can't be sure, but when I made a point to stop doing that I stopped getting sore throats. (Coincidence?) These bags unfold and open MUCH more easily so that hasn't been an issue since I got these. Okay, let's talk price. I paid $11.99 for 270 lavender-scented bags. That comes out to 4.4 cents per bag ($.044). I paid $14.99 for 1000 of these Gorilla bags (they seem to be on sale now but they weren't then) which comes out to be 1.4 cents per bag ($.014). Not only are these bags a thousand times better, they're cheaper, too! Why in the world did I pay 3x more for crappier bags? (pardon the pun) These Gorilla bags come 20 to a roll, too, so I'm not constantly having to change the roll like I did with the other brand, which only has 15 bags per roll. Why, you ask, are there only 15 of the other brand on the roll? Those are one inch longer, 9x13, while these are 9x12. My little guy is only 35 lbs so I could do with a sandwich bag size and even these are total overkill but I can't imagine anyone would need THAT much room to tie a knot. Even so, at this price (what I paid, $14.99), you could use three EVERY time and still come out ahead of the other brand! (For the nerds about to click on their calculators, no need, I've already done the math for you! 3.14 times. You're welcome!) In summation (because I'm fancy like that), these bags are easier to rip off the roll, easier to unfold, easier to open, cost less, and require less frequent refilling of the rolls. I haven't found a defective one yet, nor one that tore open (in fairness, of either brand). They seem equally sturdy and while neither brand keeps the stink in very well, I will note that these keep the stink in at least as well as the other brand, if not better. I learned something about myself through this experience, I prefer poo that isn't lavender-scented. When I'm not near a doggy station I bring the poo bag inside, dump the contents in the toilet, tie the top of the bag, and put it in my kitchen trash receptacle (it has a covered lid). While I often had to take the trash out before the bag was full before just to get rid of the stink, I haven't so much as THOUGHT about it since I got these. If you're wondering if I just don't like the smell of lavender, I'd like to mention that I have three essential diffusers and about 60 essential oils, and I buy lavender both in dried form and essential oil in bulk. (You can check out my diffusers, dried lavender, and essential oil reviews by clicking on my name.) I'm going to buy these bags as long as I need bags, the search is over!

Great quality, easy to use
My sister got these for her dog who I helped puppy sit. Then I became a first time dog owner myself. I bought a few from a store because the decision to get the puppy was a bit impulsive and I needed to have something on hand immediately but not all poop bags are created equal. It came with a cute holder but the bags were not the best quality. These are a nice quality, not too flimsy and nothing is see through. The bags are easy to tear because there is a small break like with grocery store bags that are meant to stop and pull when lined up with the dispenser. You don't realize what a big deal this can be when you are trying to keep up with a little pup that wants to move on from their business but you are left trying to clean it up. Also, the bag opens much smoother when you rub your hands together by the opening- cheaper brands do not- again a good thing. I also like the idea that these are somewhat eco friendly in that they are designed to decompose quicker than normal plastic. This box should last me a year so it is a really good value and I will only continue to purchase this product. Now, if only I could ensure that every pet owner cleaned up after their pet...

Sturdy, well-made, cheap bags.
When buying these I said to myself "how my ever going to need 1000 bags for my dogs waste?" Now I see why they come in sets of 1000. Sometimes my puppy will go to the bathroom six separate times a day. So I go through a lot of bags. It's also helpful if you lose one set of bags that there's more for back up. I actually chose these bags over others because of their "Green" quality, it was a plus that they were actually green. These bags are decomposable overtime. They come in a nice box for easy storage and they come with a bag holder for when you go outside with your dog. The bags themselves are really long which is good because that means less contact with your arm. They aren't flimsy and because they're long you can usually end up tying them to stop the smell or any leakage. I'm not saying the bags themselves leak; what I am saying is that if you dump them upside down, but tie them first they will not leak. Overall, these are really great quality bags and at a great price, I will buy them again. In my first picture I have just the bags on the role. In my second picture I have one of the bags pulled out and you can see how long it is, about 1 foot. On my third picture I have the bag completely open, measuring 8 inches wide and 12 inches long. I will say that I have also used these to pick up the waste from a 110+ Rottie, with no issues at at. Great bags at a really great price.

Definitely Buying Again!!!
I ordered these bags for a dispenser I made using an outdoor electrical outlet cover. These bags are great, for the price you can't beat it. I like the scented bags, but for this price it's not even a debate. These are thick bags and just like the ones I've purchased at the store for double the price. I 100% suggest these.
