Competitive !
An excellent step forward for Texas Instruments, and a powerfully intuitive tool for any business or STEM, student or professional. Dear reader, I recently started business school and a TI or Casio business level or higher calculator is mandatory for lectures and homework. However the TI family of graphing calculators are much easier to use, and offer much more functionality for real world business applications than the TI-BA II Plus or Professional models. This model, the TI-84 Plus CE offers the same extensive programability that the the TI graphic family off calculators has offered for the past 20 years, however it is much more flexible and performs tasks faster with a more clean and simple to operate, user experience. I am also an owner of a TI-83 Plus Silver Edition (the see through model with silver tone and a B/W screen) and the TI-BA II Plus. Yes, the color screen may be seen as a novelty for someone who doesn't really need or understand the usefulness of such a device; but for someone who is processing real business, geometric or scientific calculations this calculator makes the user more comfortable and competitive because of these evolutionary new features; at last, thats what it did for me. As long as the user clearly understands and practices the process of how to enter data and operate the many tools within the calculator, the user will see an immediate value in using this newer model verses older models. As a business student I quickly and easily programmed this calculator in advance before using this new model in my math class. I programed it to perform, Lower Case Letters, Distance Formulas, Factoring Polynomials, Quadratic Functions and Systems of Liner Equations; easy math for some, but not for me. On the first day of using this new model in my class, I came up with several correct answers faster than any student in the class and because if the functionality of the calculator I was able to quickly understand, repeat, and explain each step of how I got the correct answer. - Yes, in one word: "Competitive !" PS: In regard to the color you choose for the body, I would avoid the mid gray toned models. This is because the gray plastic body provides little contrast to the light blue and light green ink printed text on the body of the calculator, thus making the text harder to read. When accurate data entry is a big part of the value of this product, I took this in to serious consideration and decided to purchase the black model. If I could buy the yellow educators model I would, yellow or blue really are my colors. Once I started using the black model, I was more than pleased with the glossy black face and the off white color of the body. This model looks and feels like a smart, sexy, bespoke limousine for a calculator. Thats cool!

Conveniently Modern and Compact
I LOVE this calculator. It is the complete opposite of the calculators that I used in middle school. This calculator is SO thin and lightweight. Not to mention, I love the fact that it could use different colors now, adds a lil bit more organization. It is obviously a lil bit pricey, but these things last for YEARS (provided you took well care of it). I remember a story where this person bought this for middle school, and even in college, she still uses the same thing! I like the fact that you could just charge this via a USB cable, unlike the old ones where you have to swap the batteries, its SOO convenient. I bought a protective case for it for protection and organization, I suggest people should also do that, if theyre gonna invest on an expensive calculator such as this.

Good grades and a happy teenager.
I bought this calculator for my daughter. Works great and I have heard no complaints. I didn’t use it myself so I can’t tell you much more, other then her grades are good and she is happy with it.

King of All Calculators
This is the king of all calculators. The display is bright and clear, and ultimately adjustable. The option of adding colors and applying them to statistics and graphs makes for a seamless experience. The buttons have a great feel, and working it is a smooth process. The battery life has been, and remains phenomenal. This product has lasted 3+ years without even the slightest problem. If you are going into any mathematical field, I highly suggest this product. I could not be more pleased with the quality and simplicity of the product. Though, do be advised, if you don’t see yourself using this for more than a class or two, I find that it may be a bit much. The capabilities are endless.

Great Calculator
I bought this calculator for class. It works as described. I love the LCD lighted screen compared to the screen on the previous version without a backlight. The only thing I would change on a future version would be to backlight the buttons as well. I must say that we were required to download some programs onto the calculator for my class, but when I went to load them to this calculator they were already on it. I did have to load them onto a previous version of this calculator though. I feel like these calculators are worth the money if you need it for class and are required to have a TI 83 or 84. If you are just looking for a simple scientific calculator then you can easily find a cheaper one. This calculator is very durable and I believe it will last a long time as long as it is taken care of. I totally recommend this to anyone. The only thing I can think of that could be a con is the fact that the battery is rechargeable vs batteries you stick in the back. I believe this the case due to the slimmer build than the previous version that you pop batteries in. In any case, the battery does not run down quickly at all, just remember to charge up before class and you will be good.

I made an A, twice
I love this product so much that I named her Tiffany. Trust me when I tell you that I didn't name any of the calculators I bought before Tiffany- and that's just about every cheaper calculator you can imagine. If it were not for Tiffany, I would not have made an A in my pre-stats AND stats classes. Obviously I had to put the work in and do my homework, but with the color screen and her pretty, sleek design- I suspect I enjoyed doing my homework more than my classmates did. Although Tiffany came with a fairly comprehensive instruction manual I found the best instructions via a lot of YouTube googling, and I would suggest other buyers to do the same. Also, don't forget the charger at home! This calculator does everything and the battery lasts a long time... but when it's donezo it's donezo, so bring your charger with you.

Great Graphing Calculator for Middle School through College
AP/SAT/ACT approved graphing calculator. Both my daughters used this model throughout high school and into college. We bought a new one for my youngest to get the latest features but her five year old calculator is still going strong. Color graphing is worth the extra cost. The battery is replaceable and lasts 4-5 years and is not super expensive. Figure the cost per year and then invest in your child's education!

The Gold Standard of modern calculators for classes in High School or College
This is the one many instructors and professors want their students using as they use this one themselves. It is a bit of a learning curve to understand how to access all the functions but that is what the world of graphing calculators is like. But the Texas Instruments Education channel has a web series on YouTube that helps you grow comfortable with the device; a must of those new to this level of calculators. I got mine in white because it would be so much different than many classmates as theirs are typically colored black as that is what most office supply stores and on campus supply stores have on hand for sale.

Great calculator for the money!
Imagine my surprise when I found out that my old TI-83 didn't have enough power to do everything I needed it to do for my next three math classes, College Algebra (math 114), Calculus for Business and Stats! After a lengthy conversation with my Math Professor, she recommended I pick up a TI-84 and if i was willing to pay a bit more get the color version. Man am I glad I did. This Calculator is so much fun. It's like walking around with a mini computer in my pocket. I can put in my functions Ysub1 and Ysub2, Hit graph and whamo out comes this pretty graph, like the TI-83 it does handle a lot of numbers, you can set equations to zero and off you go running, however unlike the older version, you are not constrained with having to remember when to use or close parenthesis. I've run the same things through both calculators and was amazed when the older version basically had a heart attack when the TI-84 chugged through the answer. This one is rechargeable, which means you need to plug it into the wall and top off the battery, it comes partially charged. Color changes are super easy with just a touch of a few buttons. Outside of that it does have a larger memory so upgrades are a breeze. I an unable to speak at this time as to the battery life as I just bought it this week and haven't had to charge it but the one time. Whats in the package: 1. TI-84 Plus CE 1 - Micro USB/ USB Mini-B port 1 - USB/USB Mini-B port for charging 1 - Cover 1 - TI-84 Plus CE for Dummies pamphlet 2 additional pamphlets for the TI-84 Plus CE 1 -Warranty pamphlet This is really a good upgraded calculator that meets the needs of those who are going to school for general math and moving on to stats. I'm a business major so my math will end at Stats and Calculus for business. I really do like this new unit!

Math it U
Works very well and does math well. As soon as you pick up this product you will be at the head of your class so matter the subject. Math=Calculator, Science=Calculator, English=Calculator for heavens sakes even in gym if you whip this thing out and start mathing it up your peers and teachers will be so impressed that you will never get that super wedgie again along with a perfect A+ keeping your GPA at the best it can be.
