Freakin awesome. Read all the positive and negative reviews before purchase cause the price seemed almost too good for night vision. I live in a neighborhood so when I got the monocular I blacked out the house at night and shut off all sources of light. Turned this bad boy on and I could see EVERYTHING. Can't wait to use it out in the woods. Very happy with purchase especially at the price. Shipped securely and came with a bunch of neat stuff. Would purchase again.

I love it my mother-in-law wanted it for Mother's Day so we all pitched in and bought it for her. When she tried it out her jaw dropped. The quality is even better than the reviews in which I had read and watched before ordering this. Everything is crisp and clear the only thing is that something that is white looks completely white because of the infrared however you can still make out what it is and the different levels of infared is really nice when you're trying to look far away we live on some property and it is just perfect. doesnt record sound but who needs it.

I bought this for my father. Let's just say, I'm now his favorite child. The last 10 text messages from him have been images from Solomark's Night Vision Monocular. Apparently, my dad's crawling around his house at night capturing clear images of household furniture. My mom said she has to give him a time limit or he'll be awake until 2 a.m. taking pictures of "things we OWN and see every day." Needless to say, this is a great product for the price. My dad's not going on any major hunting trips, nor is he using it for any top-secret CIA business. But for taking rather clear pictures of indoor furniture at night, it's a dream come true. I'd imagine his outdoor photography will increase as the weather gets better. I'm just trying to prepare myself for late night texts in the summer where my dad swears he sees a raccoon, and thanks to Solomark's NVM, he'll quickly discover it's a flower pot.

Wow wow wowwweww this is by far the most exciting and fun contraption I have ever bought! You can see in complete darkness! I went into my restroom and turned off the lights. It was pitch black. I could not see my hand in front of my face. Then I looked through the solomark device. I could see everything and it was as bright as say. I work as an armed guard at night and this thing was amazing.I could see everything in total darkness. There are 7 different levels to the ir power. This thing is great on so many levels. This is the poor man's flir thermal imaging camera. For only 145 it's a steal. Soon I will hunt rabbits at night with it!! Seriously if I could give it 10 stars I would.

A bit grainy with low resolution. But it does an amazing job of letting you see in dark unlit alleys and into deep shadows. The picture taking is a nice feature. Better if used in total darkness. Great little night vision camera for the money. I am a grave yard shift armed security guard in a bad section of town, it helps keep me safe. I see people before they see me. I use it often.

There's several different night vision technologies. There's the very expensive light multiplying technology used in military grade goggles which can use starlight to illuminate everything before you. Then there's the much less expensive IR technology. The Solomark night vision monoculars are obviously the latter technology. IR technology has its limitations and drawbacks. But, properly implemented, it is a reasonable technology for night vision on a budget. I've used light multiplier goggles and this is the first time I've used IR goggles so I have a bit of a feel for the benefits and tradeoffs. I've read reviews on the Solomark where the chief complaint is poor resolution. In either night vision technology, resolution is the primary tradeoff. For a few tens of thousands of dollars, you can get reasonable resolution with military grade night vision goggles. Then there's range of view. That's where light multiplier technology wins hands down. You can see things several hundreds of yards into the distance. The IR technology of the Solomark has limited range - up to one or two hundred yards. So, it all boils down to expectation. If you want very high quality night vision the Solomark NV monoculars aren't going to meet your expectation. Plan on spending 10X or more. But, if you want to see what's around you with acceptable resolution out to several hundred yards without breaking the bank then the Solomark NV monocular is a reasonable choice. My expectations were realistic and I'm not disappointed. I think they are fine for my use.

This thing is pretty neat; definitely comparable to older technology. Still, for the price it gives you good low light and IR viewing capabilities. My only caveat is that it will destroy the night vision in which ever eye you look though the lens with. I've had fun with it so far. The critters bothering the chicken coop and rabbit pen had better be on the look out from here on out.

I really did not expect much due to the low price, but was I wrong. I put myself in a totally darkened room and turned on the infared option and could see everything that was in the room. This is a great addition to my SHTF preparation!!

I am a night hunter - mostly hunt hogs. However, lately with the drought in E. Texas we started having problems with coyotes getting to our sheep. In the period of a week or so we lost 4 lambs. So, I called in some friends and we set up watch schedules thru the nights. While each of us had NV scopes on our rifles it became obvious that we needed a quicker less taxing way to scan the pasture over swinging our rifles every few minutes. So I started looking at NV scanners - I wanted something that wasn't too expensive because I expected my spouse to get me a Thermal scanner for my birthday which is just a few months away. After looking at most on Amazon I narrowed my choice down to two units - the Solomark and the Nightfox units. Well, the Nightfox had the best rating but was out of stock so I chose the Solomark Night Vision Monocular. The Solomark didn't quite have as good a rating 4-star vs 5-star, but after using them I can't understand why anyone would find them not useful or junk as one rater indicated unless they just didn't understand how IR night vision units work. The Solormark unit works great on the darkest of nights as long as you turn on the IR light -7 different levels of intensity. Without the IR on it is pretty much useless on dark nights but it is NOT meant to be used that way. The only three drawbacks that I can find: #1. is the #3 default setting of the "white back-light" - it is too much and causes grainy vision at any distance. Set it to #1 and use the IR light at higher levels and you have good night vision out to 100+ yards. #2. working thru the menu can be a little confusing at first. #3. The IR level cannot be backed down without going all the way thru the 7 settings then back up. An example: you are viewing something out at 65 yards and think w/just a little more IR light you could see it better so you go up one more setting only to find that the setting is too much. Well, you cannot back down just one setting - you have to go completely thru all of the light settings to get back to where you started. All in all - it is a great little device, especially for the night hunter who does not want to use visible red let lights.

Today I received the Solomark night vision. it is much portable than I first thought. Also I tested it outside tonight, everything looks fabulous. And some reviews say that it is very hard to open the case, but it is very easy for me. All in all I can recommend these as an excellent well made bit of kit, the battery cover is a bit stiff at first and be warned - the sliding switch on the bottom isn't to open the battery door as this is to adjust the focus for your eyesight, ie to see the screen overlays better, the actual image you view is focussed with a screw wheel below the front lens element. Quick delivery, fantastic item - just as described, or even better!
