Hold off on buying this until they figure out the lock. Once you install it works great and is solid. BUT now I can not get the rack out of the receiver. One of the keys snapped off second use, and the button to push in for release was difficult but I got it. Now on trying to remove the rack the second time the release button will not push in and the rack is very solidly stuck in the hitch. Not sure what to do next. Contacted Allen Sports and sure hope they are helpful because I need to use my hatchback and get this off my car so I can return it. First thing in the morning after I wrote this first 2 star review, I receive an email from Allen Sports. First thing was offering to make the situation right asap. The night prior i had some family help looking at it trying to figure out what it was we needed to do. Final solution was some WD40 around the release button on the hitch and them some wiggling. I think there was just not the right slip after unlocking it to get it out of the hitch, and perhaps that button I think was maybe too big for my hitch. They offered to cover the cost of the 2 stronger keys I had made and will look into the keys and what may have been the issue with my rack. I am going to try it a few more time to see it the issue comes up again. They do a lot of product testing and were genuinely interesting in my problem since it never happened in their product testing. They offered to replace with another rack if this continues, this was Allen Sports, not Amazon. The rack is very well made, I looked at a lot before buying this one and the quality and function is great and would now definitively recommend you can by their product with confidence.

Well made.
Very well built rack; strong enough for the job and easily installed, removed. I am not thrilled with the adjustable collar but it works well and does not rattle when bolted in. The first time I used this (95 Cadillac Fleetwood) I loaded my son's bike aboard and drove 300 miles without incident or any problem. Unfortunately I needed to go 320. Almost home and someone T-Boned my Caddy. Spun us 90 degrees before I regained control. The rack stayed in place and held the bike on through it all. This rack was battle tested and performed well for us.

The wobble is real folks! But manageable!

I do not understand what people want or why they ...
I do not understand what people want or why they are giving negative feedback. This rack works amazingly well. Mind you, it isn't a 300.00 to 1000.00 yuppy bike rack with a fancy German name, but it does the job well. I have it on the back of my 2013 F150 4X4 and drove over several rough roads, it did shake a little but I figure the high dollar ones do too. I did make one modification, I determined where the lock button was and drilled a hole to allow it to index to the right place for my 54cm frame making it easier to set up each time and giving it an added level of security.

I love this bike rack
I love this bike rack. It was extremely easy to install. There was still a little 'play' in the hitch (happens a lot with my Xterra) so I just super-glued a washer to the side of the bike rack where it fits into the hitch. I love the fact that this holds two bikes, that the arm that holds the bikes folds down when not in use AND I especially love that the whole thing leans back so that I can open the rear hatch. The bike rack is actually far enough away from the body of my vehicle that my dogs can jump in the back even though a bike is on the rack. But it also doesn't feel like it sticks out too far, so I think it's perfect! I'm not sure how other bike racks work but I naturally would use a bungy cord to keep the tires from spinning. I don't think that takes away (any stars) from this rack. I would probably do the same with any rack. I've purchased $200 bike racks and have returned them because they didn't perform nearly as well as this one. This bike rack truly is the best one your going to find anywhere near this price. I just got home from another bike ride, bike is still on the rack :-) I find myself riding a lot more since this rack is so easy to use!

Great hitch, just the right size
Love this hitch. My wife and I can head out and know that this hitch will handle our bikes well. We looked for a few features - we wanted a two bike mount hitch to keep the size down. This hitch also allows the arms to swing down when not in use. Finally, if you need to get into the back of your vehicle, you can tilt the hitch away from your car (stops part way down) with or without bikes on the hitch. Besides these great features, the hitch is very easy to use. Getting it on your car is simple. Putting the bikes on is simple. Taking the bikes off is simple. We have used many hitches over the years - this is the best! Tip: if you want to stay simple and easy, check out this lock to go along with this (or any) hitch: http://www.amazon.com/Item-number-23020-inch-hitch/dp/B0007LVJ20?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage

HIGHLY Recommended (if you also purchase additional tie down straps)
I decided to wait a bit before posting my review of this bike hitch so that I could put it through its paces. In the past couple of weeks, I have transported our two bikes to several locations. The bike rack has performed admirably! Now... I'll add this in. I would NOT rely on the straps that come with the hitch. When I purchased this bike hitch, I also purchased a set of 6 quick release straps. When the straps arrived, I cut each one of them down to about a 1 foot (to 2 foot) lengths and I use 3 straps on each bike in tandem with the straps that come with the hitch. The bikes don't wobble and there seems to be very little movement at all while I'm driving. I would VERY strongly advise getting this rack if, AND ONLY IF, you also purchase a set of straps to use in addition to the factory installed straps. The hitch itself is heavy duty and seems like it will last me a good long time. OH... one negative thing... the screw down straps that allow you to position them in different locations on the upright bar don't screw down very tightly. Just another reason why you need to buy a set of 6 tie down straps to use in conjunction with the manufacturers straps. Update after trip to Florida: We took a 2000 mile (round trip) journey to Ft. Myers beach this past month and took 2 bikes along with us. This Easy Load Deluxe hitch worked flawlessly. I never felt worried one bit that the bikes were in danger of coming off. Of course, if you read my review above, you will know that I used 6 extra straps... three extra straps per bike in order to hold the bikes in place. I would not recommend using the straps that come with this hitch by themselves. I don't believe they would hold the bike in place. But, by using the extra straps, this hitch worked like a CHAMP!

DO NOT LET BAD REVIEWS KEEP YOU FROM BUYING THIS BIKE RACK
Do not, I repeat, DO NOT let bad reviews on this product keep you from ordering this bike rack. Racks at bike shops are $250-400. I read reviews about how this rack didn't fit into the hitch sleeve and how it was loose and how the bikes swayed around. NOT TRUE! Anyone with half a brain can install this into a receiving hitch. You just have to make sure the bolt is tight and you may actually have to use some muscle and do a little wiggling to get the bolt through the hole. But not any more than you would a trailer hitch. My point is: this hitch doesn't just clip in and snap on. If it did it would sway and be loose. My wife and I have used this rack to travel with both of our bikes and we use a bungie cord around the front wheel just to make sure it doesn't move. This rack is well worth the money. I would definitely recommend. I bought this item with my own money, this is not an endorsed review. I just couldn't believe the bad reviews I read that almost kept me from buying this. And when I installed it I thought to myself, "The people making bad reviews probably shouldn't even be riding a bike, much less trying to drive a car!!" Perhaps I'm being a little too harsh, but no more than the harsh reviews that are simply inaccurate.

Quality product
You know: to really get to know a product, reading reviews will not suffice. You need to read the reviews before you buy the product, then buy and install the product, use it, then re-read the reviews. So here's where I am at: Yes I installed the rack on my 2016 Mercedes GLE which came with a 2 inch hitch but I had a very small ratchet (1/4th?) and not even the right socket for the big bolt and so I used pliers-type-of-tools. Result: it did install but I know it's not in all the way (the big bolt). There is a wobble, as others have stated. I then read the reviews and someone talked about getting 3/4th ratchets, and that the wobble went away after he really tightened the big bolt. But when I saw the price for 3/4th ratchets I said no way and went and ordered two Crescent half inch ones. Plus a set of sockets. I did this cos it was obvious to me that these are necessary tools for this rack. Not only because of the first time you install them but because of the times you will need to unscrew and rescrew the big bolt. For the winter I wont need to go bikeriding so I will take the rack off. However the wiggle is not an issue. Meaning I take two bikes places and drove with the rack with no bikes on and I heard no noises coming because of a wiggle. So the product is sturdy enough even when there is wobble. The new rachets just arrived so I will go and tighten the big bolt and see if that helped. I also bought a hitch tightener but I am not sure I will be installing it because even as is the rack is on OK I believe. I have used it for about a week only so I may be updating this review. Regarding the rest of the rack, I feel it's a quality product overall. Yes, it would be great to have a quick release feature like others have mentioned but I live in a very safe area so I dont anticipate issues with theft etc. Anything is possible but this is not an expensive item to worry much.

Good hitch when used as designed
Complaints about wobbling are due to the fact that they did not use the wobble-stop bolt(s) supplied with the hitch. I first tried it with a hitch lock from master, as many probably have. This is not how the hitch was designed for work. It ships with two specially shaped bolts to secure the hitch in the receiver that completely top it from wobbling. Once I put this on the hitch did not move. The down side of this is that you have to use a pair of wrenches to remove it after you are through with it. If you feel the need to lock the bike rack to the hitch you will need to use a cable type lock and weave it through the appropriate locations on each. I turned the rubber bumper at the midpoint so it faces the tailgate just in case you forget rack is mounted and open the gate. On my car the tailgate opens and bumps the rubber and not metal which could scratch the paint.
