My boat did not previously have a transom brace and my trailer is designed a little differently being a tilt style trailer so I knew I would be modifying whatever I purchased ahead of time. **Please take note that my pictures are of the modified transom saver. The website pictures are what come in the box when ordered.** I bought this unit, and cut the end off that slides over the rear roller. I made a simple bracket that bolts to the trailer and welded a tube onto it so I could slip the transom saver into it and secure it with a hitch pin. The transom saver is rigid enough and heavy enough gauge to be modified so I give it 5 stars. I also appreciated that they sent 2 sizes of rubber hold down strap. The larger one ended up going on my outboard, and as a bonus the smaller unused strap was the right size that I needed for my trolling motor.

I have owned my boat for 15 year and this is my 4th transom saver. I have had to replace the others due to cheap manufacturing or poor design caused failures or damaged my lower unit. I HAVE FOUND, what I think, WILL BE MY LAST ONE! This thing is a BEAST! Heavy tubing and SUPER heavy rubber "V" were the motor wedges in. The other units I have used squeezed my lower unit creating dents so I went to styles that used the front of the lower unit to support and not the sides but the rubber was too thin and they would eventually break. NOT THIS bad boy! The rubber is super heavy in the front of the wedge so I am fairly certain this one will do the trick. I am super stoked and you can't beat the price compared to Bass Pro and Cabellas. I may slot the outer shaft to put some impact absorbing softer rubber in between the two shafts but that is getting nit picky... BUY ONE!

Great item at a reasonable price. This item works well for both my boats. One is a 15-4 motorized canoe with a 9.9HP, other is a 21-0 bay boat with 150HP. I use it at the shortest setting for the canoe and longest setting for the bay boat, and both positions work very well for me and my trailer. I had to bend the non-rubber end to fit my trailer. That design is really meant to be used with a rolling guide, but my trailer does not have that. It is easy enough to bend that end with a vise, and I was able to make it closer to a 90'. I do wish it came with a couple more bungees of different sizes to accommodate more applications. I was able to use the shorter bungee for the motor end on the canoe and the longer bungee for the motor end on the bay boat. I had to supply a third bungee to always be used at the trailer end. Not a big deal, but throwing in a couple more different length bungees would be a more complete solution, IMO. This may add a couple dollars to the cost, but will save headaches for a lot of people. Overall, I would but this again.

I bought this for long trips with the boat all I can say is wow.. very heavy duty. The motor doesn’t even shake or turn. If you don’t have this for you’re boat then it is a must have!

This product is about twice as heavy and designed about 4 times better than the Attwood transom savers I had before.. I went through two of the Attwood units before I got sick of them breaking and actually damaging my 10 HP Suzuki outboard. I can't say enough bad things about the Attwood transom saver, and I can't say enough good things about the Extreme Max. I wish I had found this before buying the other ones.

I 'lost' my other transom saver on an extremely bumpy road, on the way home from the lake. I bought this one to replace the old one. I have a 50hp Mercury & a 16.5' Aluminum Fishing Boat. This transom saver is very nice and sturdier than my old one. While I was not happy that I had to purchase it.....I am happy with the quality of this one.

I feel like these things should be cheaper. It’s super sturdy though. Really thick metal and just the size I needed for my 20hp on my dinghy trailer.

This transom saver is great. Super solid construction and design. I’m using on a 2019 Alumacraft 175 Trophy supporting a 115 Suzuki on an Eagle trailer. Super easy to set the length. Once mounted, I have no worry’s. Affordable piece of mind.

Hard to tell from the pictures, but this thing is HEAVY DUTY, and was only $10 more than the perpetually breaking Attwood square tube aluminum ones I had been using. It's steel, so it will rust, but it's so thick I don't see how it will matter. Nothing is going to break on this one. Even the bungees are premium. The rubber crotch is narrow, but the rubber is easily 1/2" thick. I think this is a "buy it once" product. Finally, a contraption that was more than I expected.

This is a beast. made of steel. super strong. Had an aluminum one that was supposedly for large motors. It buckled on first trip. not this new one! would not consider any other brand for 200 hp engine.
