The Rolls Royce of furnace filters

I'm someone who sleeps in the basement of my house. I bought a 10 pack of generic filters (on a particular "group coupon" site) and eventually started getting sick. Sprung and paid the cash for the Filtrete, and my air quality at the house is now incredible. These filters might be overkill, but I'm only going to buy Filtrete going forward. And to ease my concerns about the filters being "counterfeit" (according to some Amazon reviews), I called 3M and they assured me that I had purchased a genuine product.

Excellent air quality with minimal airflow reduction

I get bad seasonal allergies, and I'm allergic to my girlfriend's cats, so keeping good air quality is important to me, and these seem to be one of the best options available. Since these also remove germs that the dust and allergen filters don't, I thought the more it can remove from the air, the better! I was concerned about whether this would significantly reduce airflow, because I've heard horror stories from my dad who does HVAC work about how much airflow reduction and motor strain can occur when you replace a dust filter with a HEPA filter, but my research online seemed to indicate that 3M has found a way to get very good particulate filtering without the downsides experienced from most other filters. I did some comparison between these and a few other thinner filters, just by feeling airflow at the vents and returns, not with any real measuring tools, and I didn't notice a significant change in air pressure, even on the top floor of my three-story townhome. I'm happy with the filtering so far, and I plan to continue to use these, at least until 3M comes out with something even better.

Filters what you CAN'T see!

Images speak a thousands words. I run the furnace fan 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week. Always keeping the air moving and thus, being cleaned. I have a recording studio and I want the air to be as clean and free of flying debris as possible. I have been using these filters for many years and they have not disappointed. Photos show the results of 24 hours/7 days a week for 3 months. This is dirty SoCAL air. I'd also like to add that I was very near the fire zone of the recent fires we just had and although there was soot, ash flying about outside, i could not smell any of that inside.

Wonderful filter and better for your health

I have used Filtrete filters for many years and usually the highest end of their filters. When I saw this on Amazon i realized that this was an even higher end and better filter than the one we have been buying locally. Our hardware store sells this filter in only one size and it is way more money than what Amazon is charging for this product. Since we have tried this one we are not having to change our filters as often (once a month) and wow how much cleaner our air is. You wouldn't think you would notice but having asthma, i notice. This is a great product for your health.

The best residential filters money can buy.

My go to air filter for the last several years. This filter will get everything out of the air, making your home feel cooler and fresher. Because of this, the filter gets dirty fast. First one won't last over 1 month and depending on the time of year and where you live subsequent filters will last 1-2 months, but never 3. If you try to keep these filters in 3 months or more you will get sick.

I popped one of these bad boys in

I moved into a house and immediately got a sore throat and my boyfriend too. I popped one of these bad boys in, within a few days everything cleared up. Also my boyfriend is slightly allergic to pets, I have two cats and a dog. With this one he was able to be comfortable in the house. I suggest changing it every 2 months during heavy-use months (summer) instead of every 3 months. I live in Florida and noticed a big difference.

This is a AMAZING filter from Filtrete. 20x25x1 PERFECT FOR MY DIY "BETTER BOX FAN FILTER!"

This is a AMAZING filter from Filtrete. I currently live with a stubborn pack a day smoker that refuses to go outside to smoke. Unfortunately I currently live in dallas,tx where its unbearably hot outside ten months out of the year, so opening up a window to air out the two bedroom apartment i live in is not a option. The central air always runs which stirs the smoke to every room of the apartment (including mine.) So after researching HEPA air purifiers, a suitable purifier was $500+, which is out of the question currently. I found " Toms Beter Box Fan" website where he had instructions on how to make a DIY Box Fan purifier for the cost of two filters and a box fan. I decided to make one. Some people put a 20x20x1 filter on the back of the fan and call it good, not the best idea. The cheapo motors on a Walmart box fan are not designed to take the strain. So to solve this you simply take two 20x25x1 filters and "hinge" them together onto the intake side of the box fan, cut & tape cardboard from your amazon box onto the top of the filters creating a tight seal. BOOM a DIY Purifier for ~$50! I WAS SO HAPPY when Filtrete came out with these 2800 series filters! The highest quality available in these sizes that are capable of filtering tobacco smoke! Also i loved the 2 pack they come in (perfect for my double filter box fan.) After the 2 pack filters arrived all i needed was some white gorilla duct tape, box fan, knife and 30mins to create my air purifier. These filters work on ULTRAFINE PARTICALS like smoke, smog and 2.5m pollution. After running my better box fan in the smokers room for a just a hour the air cleared and could just see the tar and yellow filth on the filter surface. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS 2800 SERIES FILTERS! Worth the extra money, solid heavy duty construction made to last as well.

Impressive performance from the newest product from 3M

I first had to contact 3M to see if indeed they made this 2800 filter, and they do. It is so new that it's only available in select stores and also Amazon.com. The filter is remarkable and I noticed a difference in the air soon after installing it and running the air conditioning. We often have a musty basement odor and this did make a large improvement! Practically gone. It is higher priced than a usual filter but I figure that a $30 that lasts for 3 months = $10 a month. People easily spend more money than that a month in pricey Starbucks coffees! The filter is constructed with a high number of pleats so with all that total surface area of the filtering media there should be no problem with fan blower load (just be dilligent about regular changing). Quite well made with metal supporting wires on both sides instead of one. I will certainly continue to buy this filter

Fixed a major allergy issue!

Thank you! Once we got these and put them in, about 48 hours later, we noticed a huge difference! We have been sniffling and dripping in this new office for months. When we heard about these super-allergen filters, we decided to try them. This office was under construction and apparently the contractors ran the AC while sanding wallboard, clogging the AC filters. They removed the filters and kept sanding! The entire AC system blows a fine white dust on everything and the whole staff has been coughing and sneezing. After 48 hours (and wet dusting the entire office weekly) we have clean air and almost no dust! The allergic reactions have subsided and everyone is working happier and more efficiently! Excellent product for a specific need.

Big help from volcano VOG

Very happy with these filters- noticeable difference in air quality after I started running these. I live on the Big Island of Hawaii, currently we are having significant air quality issues with the volcano erupting. Everyone in my office was suffering from the VOG these filters have worked exceptionally well
