This wallet is awesome. I love the material which is a sturdy combination of elastic, and leather. I had another minamalist front pocket wallet for the last few years that had two platic plates with a band around them. It sandwiched cards together and the cash went under the rubber band that held the plates together. It served it's purpose for a good few years but I wanted a new wallet. This wallet is cool because it holds cards on both sides. I have about 10 cards in it. On the side with the tab when you pull it - those cards push up and are easily accesssible. On the backside those cards you push up with your thumb and on the outside of that side is a nifty pocket to hold cash or a key. This is a great wallet. Highly impressed and it was really inexpensive. The vendor shipped it quickly. It was exactly as advertised. This was a good buy for me.

Amazing wallet, and amazing customer service. I *love* this wallet. I have owned it for over three years now. I have tried a few minimalist wallets, and this is the only one I've tried that is both super minimal and also super easy to access multiple cards at once. I very rarely have cash on me, but when I need to, this wallet holds it in a little elastic pocket. That said, the thing that really pushed me over the edge to write a review here is the fact that my wallet is starting to get worn out, and I just received amazing customer service. Specifically, the leather pull tab is starting to come unstitched, and the slit where the nylon strap slides is wearing out. Not unexpected after three years of love. I love the wallet, and came to Amazon to order a new one, and noticed the bulletpoint that said "lifetime warranty". So I went to the nomatic website to email them, and sent a photo of the damage. Less than an hour later, I had a response from Justin at Nomatic service, asking for what color I wanted, and my shipping address, and they're sending me a new one. Amazing! Needless to say, I'll be looking to Nomatic for future purchases of things like bags as well.

I have had a custom made double sided carbon fiber money clip cardholder for years and as it has finally started to wear so I decided to start shopping for a new minimalist wallet. I tried several like the Ridge Wallet in carbon fiber but they were all much heavier than my original one. Then I saw the Basics slim wallet on Amazon and decided to give it a shot because I liked the idea of the flexible elastic and the unique "pull tab" access to my cards, even though after having a money clip for so long I wasn't sure how I would like folding my bills over and tucking them in the second pocket. I must say after a week of using it I am loving this wallet even more than my carbon fiber one. First after pulling the tab your cards are exposed about half way still leaving them secure in the elastic but giving you easy access to sort through them to get the card or ID you need. When you're finished just place the card back in the pack and push them back into place and the pull tab retracts back into its place as well. As for "tri-folding" my bills and putting them in the pocket I have found it to be no problem at all and I feel my cash is actually more secure. There are 2 pockets on the opposite side from the pull tab, one slightly larger pocket which is designed to hold your most used card or ID for quick access, and then another pocket on top of that one which is a little tighter fit meant for your cash. I prefer to keep all my cards and ID together on the pull tab side and use the larger pocket for my bills as they are easier to get in and out. I will probably keep a spare key or something in the outer smaller pocket or nothing at all. As soon as I showed my wife the Basics Slim wallet she loved it and wanted one for herself. So I ordered her a gray one and ordered 4 more black ones for myself. I have learned over the years when I find something I really like I buy another one or several so if I ever lose that particular item or it wears out then I have another one waiting to be used. I don't anticipate this wallet wearing out anytime soon as it is very well made, but the price is so reasonable I couldn't resist buying several. I've attached a couple pics of different wallets I have tried on a scale including the Ridge wallet and another custom kydex wallet to show the weight comparison. The Basics Slim weighs in at only .6 oz so you honestly don't even know its in your pocket, in fact it weighs less fully loaded than the Ridge wallet empty. If you are looking for a quality lightweight minimalist wallet then I suggest you look no further and buy one, or like me, buy several!

In the day and age of not carrying cash and just carrying cards, I was looking for something that I could use to carry my driver's license, medical insurance card, and a few credit cards. I do have a leather credit card holder but over the years, it has become stretched out so that when I put in less credit cards etc, the fit is loose. I'm always on the lookout for a wallet that can out do my current wallet. This isn't the first minimalist wallet that I've purchased. I have quite a few. The Basics wallet feels sturdy compared the Modern Carry minimalist wallet which is also sold on Amazon. When placing your cards in the Basics wallet, put the 4 most used cards on the side with the tab so when the tab is pulled, those cards will slide up and you choose the card of your choice. Then you will flip the Basics wallet over and add your other cards you carry and drivers license. The pull tab has a leather piece at the top. My content fits securely and doesn't feel like it will slip out if dropped or turning the wallet upside down. In my pocket, it doesn't feel like I have anything in it. It's very lightweight. I'm not sure how long this will last as I've seen some reviews and photos where the wallet appears to be coming apart or snagged. Suggestion to Basics, it would be nice to see a minimalist wallet offered where your driver's license has a sleeve opening, so that you don't have to remove it completely when asked to show your identification. Overall, I don't feel like a purchased a piece a cloth that was stitched together like I did with some other minimalist wallets. I like that I don't have to struggle to take out the card that I need when out. If you want something to use when you're going to a game, a bar, amusement park, etc., this is a great option to taking a bulky wallet. This can be a great option for men or women. I highly recommend this wallet to others.

I have to admit, I was a real skeptic. Go through my review history, I almost NEVER give 5 start reviews but I'm doing it here. I thought I wanted something impossible. A light wallet that fit comfortably in a front pocket, held lots of stuff but still made it easy to access. But, the BASICS wallet did that. It's well built, stores all of my cards and does so in a small container that sill makes them easy to access. It's just brilliant. The only caveat I'd offer is that the included instructions were kind of useless. However, ten seconds on YouTube found a video that showed how to use it and that worked like a charm. Also, I'd warn that the cash pocket isn't exactly the best either. It's too small to actually carry cash and, if you have money, it can impede access to your main card. Still, as someone who rarely carries cash, loves slim wallets and demands easy access to all his cards (When I need the AMC theater card I need it now!), this one is a beaut.

Still chugging along a year and a half after I bought it. Still in awesome shape. I may never go back to another wallet after this! Just an FYI ... the carbon fiber money clip is the Travelambo model. I added a small bit of velcro to the clip and the inside of the wallet to help anchor it in place. This has accidentally been through the wash and still looks awesome and works perfectly. ====================== Second review update: Yes, I am still futzing with the wallet. I added a carbon fiber money clip to the front pocket, so now the bills are outside of the body of the wallet and easier to get to. This is the best of both worlds! Since the clip is on the opposite side of the pull, the wallet functions exactly as it did before. =========================== Review update: After taking a trip with this, I still think it's an awesome card carrying wallet. Getting my ID out at the airport, buying with credit cards ... it's great. I will give you a warning, however, if you are a big time cash user, this might not be the right wallet for you. Folding the bills to get bills into the wallet is no problem, and the wallet holds them snugly. I never felt as if they were going to slide out. It's the getting out and unfolding them to hand to the vendor that is the issue. I managed this issue by quad folding all bills by denomination (all $20s, all $10s, etc.) and pulling out what I needed when I bought something, but I would just tuck my change in my pocket and wait until I could sit down again to sort the bills out. Staying organized was the key. Now, I don't normally carry a lot of cash, but if you do, you might want to invest in a companion money clip to make managing your bills easier. ======================== This wallet is a very impressive performer. I picked this up to replace my traditional back pocket bifold wallet, and so far, after two weeks, I have been duly impressed. The innovative pull strip makes it easy to access the cards I need to get to in a hurry, and it's easy to tuck the wallet back into its compact form once I am done. The only challenge was after more than four decades of carrying a back pocket wallet, I felt as if I was leaving something behind! I now have a new habit of tapping my front pocket where the wallet resides to ensure I am carrying it.

*The pictures are from after a year of use So i have had this wallet for going on a year now, and all i can say is it is here to stay, and when this thing decides to call it quits one day ill be getting another one. It really does everything it says it hold cards some bills, i tend to carry a $20 and 2 $1 bills just so i have cash on me, but i have held more just depends on how nice you fold the cash. I have 11 cards 3 of them are small business cards. The wallet has been dropped thrown around gotten water on it and its still going strong no tears. Here are the Pros/Cons -Pros 1. Its minimal 2. Hold enough cards to get by 3. Can hold up to everyday life 3. Great design and easy access 4. Very light -Cons 1. Sometimes in the beginning you will freak out and think its not there its very light and small 2. Doesn't hold a ton of cash but enough 3. No RFID blocking but then again thats what things like Lifelock and your banks fraud center are for.

I have carried my wallet in my front pocket for many years and have tried many different styles and materials. This is the most thought out design I have ever had. I only got it a few days ago so I can't speak as to how long it will last but my guess is a very long time. My only concern is that it will lose it's elasticity over time. I did have to "Google" how to load it though; there is a specific way to do it and no other way will work. Now I'm loving it; I can hardly tell I have it in my pocket. I would recommend this item for anyone who carries their wallet in the front pocket. Follow up: I've been using this wallet for a few months now and still love it; the only thing I have noticed is that it started to unravel at the opening where the tab pulls out. I sniped off a couple of threads before I decided I needed to do something about it. I applied some clear fingernail polish across where the threads were coming loose and so far that is working. Fabric glue may have worked better but I didn't have any. I noticed in one review a customer was complaining about it being hard to pull out your cash when you want to pay for something. This wallet wasn't made to carry all your cash in it, just one or two back up bills.

I've had this wallet for a little over one and a half years now, and I can say confidently that it's the best wallet I've owned. The main reason it's the best is because of two things: size and usability. When I was looking for a wallet, I valued something small most of all. I wanted something that could fit easily in one of my front pocket so I wouldn't have to deal with the discomfort of sitting on a wallet in my back pocket anymore. For this factor, I don't think a wallet can get any smaller. This wallet is about as small as a wallet possibly could be. It's the only wallet I've ever been able to forget I was carrying; it just vanishes in my pocket. For a wallet so small, it's surprisingly usable. The quick access card strap works really well, and it's satisfying to use every time I have to retrieve a card. The other card slot is certainly harder to access, but it expands wide enough for my needs and it holds my cards securely. In general, I only have to deal with the less convenient card pocket about once a week, so it's no big deal. The cash/misc pocket can be a little difficult to deal with, but it is functional and it allows me to keep a couple of 20's with me just in case. Again, this is not a big deal to me as I don't use cash all that often. As with the normal card pocket, it holds things very securely. After a year and a half, I can say that it has held up well. I don't really see any wear on it other than it's a little grungier looking than when I bought it. I could probably get it looking close brand new if I spent a little time cleaning it. I can't say for sure how long it will last, but given that it hasn't degraded in the time I've owned it, and that it has a very simple design, I'd say it will probably last quite a bit longer. Overall, this wallet is a winner. It has a great size, great usability, and it's affordable. It's not made out aircraft grade titanium or w/e fancy materials some other clips are made out, it's just made of simple materials that do the job, no more no less. This wallet has ended my search for the perfect wallet, and it might just end your search too.

I got this because my slim wallet doesn't hold enough cards. I wanted to be able to carry 3 personal credit cards, one work credit card, my ATM card, my driver's license, my insurance card, my Costco card, my metro card, and cash (about 10 separate bills). This easily holds all of this stuff. Right now, it's a bit stiff, but I suspect things will loosen up over time. The key to using this is to know which cards you use and to position them accordingly. I'll move things around as needed. For example, when I go to Costco, I pull it out from the middle, but then put it in a top or bottom spot so that I can get to it first when I check out. After checking out, then I put it back into the middle. I keep my metro card on an outer surface so that it'll register easily when I go in and out of the metro. It fits perfectly in a front pocket. I noticed, however, that because things are kept vertically, it sat a bit uncomfortably when it was in my back pocket and I was driving. Overall, I like it a lot. It does what I needed it to do, and I think it'll get better over time.
