Save the earth, your wallet, and your sanity!
Absolute MUST! This month (July) is "saw no to single-use plastics" - While many people assume restaurant straws, plastic cutlery, and cups - I'm over here in busy, mom-land thinking, " how the heck do I stop using the food pouches and applesauce squeezers? They are WAY too handy!" Then Amazon read my thoughts (or I said it out loud and Alexa heard me, who knows! I do talk to myself) and introduced me to WeeSprout. I bought the large size (7oz.) Very easy to use, the website has lots of great recipes to try. If you're like me, you buy the biggest tub of organic unsweetened applesauce or make some oatmeal, and call it a day. Clean up is easy - easily rinses or top rack safe in the dishwasher. No melting or issues. So far they have held up nicely and are made really well. Do the world a favor and opt for reusable (not to mention, do your wallet a favor and save BIG TIME on utilizing these puppies. Much more economical per serving).

Amazing refillable and reusable! We love these so much!
Oh my goodness this is the best product ever! I purchased the six pack of the Wee Sprout refillable food pouches and I am extremely satisfied with my purchase, these things are amazing! They have a very secure Ziploc type seal across the bottom that you can insert the food into. They are reusable dishwasher safe and easy to clean with the bottlebrush. I have used these so far for apple sauce, yogurt oatmeal, purée sweet potatoes and baby foods, I am blown away, I love them! As anyone who has a little one knows, as you approach the one year mark your baby starts to dislike baby foods delivered with a spoon and prefers to pick up all their own food. They can be a real battle to get your baby to eat anything other than crunchy cheese puffs and carrots. These awesome little pouches give you the ability to extend the window to which your baby will eat baby food and thereby gives you more control over the nutrition got your baby receives . They can do it all on their own, and my little one simply loves it!this is a fantastic seller with an awesome product that I would highly recommend for any mommy looking to get more nutritious food in their baby. these would also make an awesome baby shower gift I wish I had found these a little bit sooner!

I like these pouches a lot
I like these pouches a lot. You can fit about 2-3 oz in the smallest one and 7 in the biggest one. The bottom isn't as wide as a store bought one since it needs to seal there, so they don't hold as much as you'd think. They're great though. I included a photo next to a 4oz store bought pouch.

If reusable is more important, then this product meets that goal.
**UPDATE on my original 4-star review ** I was contacted by the company inquiring about my reported issue and they promptly sent me a set of the 7oz pouches to try out. They indicated that if they could not achieve a five-star rating from the product, they were going to earn it with their customer service. I will say that I did not give them the 5th star because they chose to send me the larger package to try out, but because the product itself really does rate 5 stars. The 7oz package does give me the extra space I needed to get a full serving in for my son, but I also found that I can toss in a couple of ice cube size portions right into the pouch and by the time I need it, I have a perfectly portioned pouch. My original 4-star rating was because I couldn't fit in the portion that I needed without the contents squirting out before I could zip it close, but everything else about the product was fantastic. I have used the founder's tip to fill it up until the grass line and that has helped tremendously. I've included an image of both the 5oz and 7oz pouches filled with the same amount. While the 5oz requires you to squeeze it tightly to close, the 7oz pouch fits it comfortably. Incidentally, their customer service does, in fact, earn a 5-star rating, but if the product isn't good, then customer service really can't fix that. But in this case, product and service are both fantastic. I have recommended this product to the other parents in my son's class and I recommend it as well to anyone who asks. ******************************************************** Because reusability was slightly more important to me than packaging design, I would say that overall this product does meet my primary objective. However, it falls slightly short of my usability objectives - but not so much that I would abandon this product. I had previously used the Kiinde pouches, which I didn't really have too many complaints about other than they were not reusable. I have an 11m who likes to vary between a spoon and a pouch so I thought I would give these a try. First, they do feel very durable; I'm sure I will be able to get many uses out of each of these. I bought 2-6 packs of 5oz pouches. What I Like: I like that the spout at the top is smaller than the Kiinde pouches so there is less of a chance of spillover as he squeezes his way through the pouch, but I do have to really ensure that the contents I'm putting in there is smooth with no chunks or it will get stuck. Cleaning them so far hasn't been an issue, but then I rinse them out right after use. I have to wonder about the day that I am away from the house for a good long period where the pouch would end up with dried stuck food on the inside, so I will reserve my judgment on that until that day comes. I really like that I am not creating a lot of waste and garbage with every use and I am a little more liberal with using them with my little one because of the no waste (rather than putting it in a bowl and feeding it to him). Additionally, it is encouraging him to be more independent with his meals. What I Don't Like: What I don't like is that there are no measurements anywhere on the package. The Kiinde pouches has oz markings so you know how much you are filling and how much has been consumed. I know that commercial pouches do not have these markings, but then I am not filling those up. So I used a marker on the pitcher to fill up these pouches to 4.5oz for the 5oz pouches and every single time I cannot zip up the pouch without it spilling out, so I end up only putting in 4oz and even then I still struggle to get it zipped up. I have been frustrated every single time so far filling these pouches up trying to get them zipped up without food getting all over the place and in the zipper, so I may look for something small enough to fill it from the top spout and see if that would reduce my frustration. Else, I guess it's the trade-off for having a smaller spout top (vs Kiinde which has a large spout top since that is how you fill those pouches up) vs non-reusable pouches. Other observations: I don't mind that they don't stand up in the refrigerator. I line them up in the freezer door so they do stand up and I simply lay them down in a Tupperware in the refrigerator for defrosting (incidentally the same way I defrost frozen breastmilk when needed). My son was very happy with this pouch. He was able to feed himself and sucked it all down in a matter of minutes and even worked a little extra hard to get the last bits out, however, no matter how much he squeezed and sucked, there was still about .5oz or so that just would not come out but washed out once I opened up the zippered bottom. I was slightly dismayed at the amount of food waste. Overall: I wanted to provide at least 4.5oz of fruit & veggies in a pouch for my son to feed himself. I was able to do this with the Kiinde brand, however, I was also looking for something that was reusable so we could reduce our waste. Between not being able to actually fill in 4.5oz in the 5oz pouch and the loss of at least .5oz at the end - I am actually only able to get him 3.5oz of fruits & veggies. After he finished the pouch I mentioned above, he was still hungry so I had to supplement with another serving vs. 1 Kiinde 4.5oz pouch satisfies his appetite with little to no food waste. Perhaps I should have bought the 7oz pouches so I could get the full 4.5oz. Lesson learned for next time.

Not disappointed
I have been wanting to try reusable pouches for my toddler, and these did not disappoint! Filling the pouches was a little tricky at first, but easy once I got the hang of it. They remain flatter than I would expect, so I overfilled them the first time I used them, but it was simple to remove the extra so the bottom zipper could seal. When sealed, I have not had any trouble with leaking. They have also held up well in the freezer. After use, I rinse them out and place them in the dishwasher to be cleaned. I have found a bottle brush helpful in removing berry seeds. Thankfully, you can see through these pouches well enough to tell if there are any food particles that need to be removed. There are also no corners for the food to get hung up on. I am thankful the caps are interchangeable with the caps on the disposable pouches you can purchase at the store, so if one is lost it will be easy to replace. Of course, these take a little more work than simply purchasing pre-filled pouches, however the design is smart, and it is worth it to me to save some money and know exactly what my child is eating.

Great for homemade purees
I took a while to review this product so I could leave an honest review for other moms and dads. Overall, I like the product. It’s easy to use, and easy to clean. The key is letting hot water run through as soon as you can and not let the food build up in the zipper seal. They’re easy to clean with bottle and nipple brushes. Very good for moms and dads who make their own purees. They store well in the freezer. I pull one out and throw it in the diaper bag and it’s thawed out by the time I need it. My only complaints are; 1. I got the 5oz size, it actually holds less than 5oz. If you fill the pouch too much it all comes out when you squeeze the zipper seal closed. 2. I wish the company sent a few extra caps. I’ve already lost one. Also, be careful, caps are small enough to choke on. My son loves to try to put them in his mouth and scare me. Overall I would recommend. UPDATE: WOW. Amazing customer service. Had to change my rating to 5 star. The company reached out to me addressing my concerns and helped to make things right. Super happy with this purchase and I will continue to use WeeSprout products in the future. Thank you for your attention to your customers.

After 6 months usage
I bought the 5oz bags a little over 6 months ago and have been using them pretty much every day. My daughter takes one to daycare which usually has yogurt or apple sauce. Pros: -Easy for small hands to hold and suck out of -Clear window on pouch so you can see what is inside -Area to write your kid's name -Less mess than kid trying to self feed with spood when you are in a rush Cons: -Takes more effort to clean than you think. I rinse them out first. Then scrub the cap, top of the pouch where the threads are, and the zippers. Throw them in the dishwasher. Sometimes after coming out of the dishwasher, I sponge wash the insides because it still smells strongly of the food that was in it. No mold ever grew on mine. -The smell. It holds a faint smell of whatever food you put in it. I've scrubbed and washed and soaked in hot water. It doesn't come out. After using for 6 months, all the smells have combined to make something not very pleasing. I'm throwing mine out but am buying a new set. -Leaks. I've had minor leaks from very watery items. If I pack apple sauce and leave it overnight, the liquid finds its way out the zipper and under the cap. I haven't had this issue with thicker foods like yogurt. I still like this product even with the cons. My kid likes these pouches, I save some money by filling it myself instead of buying prepackaged pouches, and it's better for the environment. Update 9/26/2017 Changing from 3 to 5 stars. I bought another set of the 5oz and they are working well. I haven't had issues with apple sauce leaking out like I had with the first set. One of the owners also reached out and sent a replacement set and offered a refund. Great service.

Why didn't I buy these sooner?
Why I waited so long to buy refillable pouches, I can't tell you. What I can tell you is these things are awesome! They've so far stood up to a 4 year old and a 2 year old without any sign of wear. They're easy to fill & toss in your bag for an on the go snack. I filled them with applesauce (a must have in my house), pudding, and smoothies thus far and I'm sure down the road I will find plenty of other things to put in them. It's true they don't stand up in the refrigerator, but honestly, they don't stick around long enough for that to really matter & if that's a big deal for you, you could flip them over & stand them on their lids. They're easy to clean because they have no corners. Even if you put something sticky like pudding in them, a simple swipe with a bottle brush is enough to get them clean. My only qualm with them is the fill line; it's a little deceiving when you've got the pouch open to fill. Once you start to close it, that fill line is much closer than you think and I often have stuff oozing out as I'm pinching it closed, but the more I use them the better I get a gauging. At the end of the day, I really recommend this product, especially if you have applesauce monsters like I do.

Best reuseable food pouches
I have been using these for over a year. Helpful people around the house have done the dishes and thrown a few caps away, some were forgotten outside with food in them and were also thrown away. It is time for me to buy more. I was reading reviews for other brands, as I thought this one was a bit expensive, and I felt compelled to write a review and then I will order these again. First, lost lids was my biggest problem. Awesome to see they now sell just the caps! I think they should include a couple extra in the set to begin with. If you leave food in them too long, yes, they start to smell. As does every other plastic thing in your house...clean them immediately and don't store food in them for more than a day or so. They are dishwasher safe, meaning they don't melt, warp, or degrade...but this DOES NOT mean the dishwasher effectively cleans them. Honestly, how could it? Cleaning them really isn't hard. After every use, I wash them with a bottle brush. If you buy a bottle brush brand made for baby bottles, they often come with a mini-bottle style brush for nipples - I use the mini brush in the spout and in the lid. I have never had any mold or food accumulate anywhere on these pouches - except if food dries in there. I also think the dishwasher may actually be a bad thing for pouches like these as any food missed during washes (and I guarantee there will be missed food if you try to clean these in the dishwasher) is turned into a cement substance during the dry cycle and basically impossible to remove without a toothpick (and who has time for that?!). These bags are excellent. Don't expect more of them than what they are (expensive plastic bags), clean them immediately and thoroughly, and I think you will be very happy with them.

These are awesome. Used a breast pump shield as a funnel ...
These are awesome. Used a breast pump shield as a funnel and filled an applesauce pouch faster than i could've opened one! Add yogurt and your favorite frozen fruit and they pay for themselves after a couple uses. They clean easily bu taking the cap off and running the kitchen faucet sprayer through them. I wash them at the same time as the baby's bottles.
