Awesome new addition to Wild Planet's range of canned fish!
I eat six cans of fish a day so I like a little variety. I used to eat anchovies every day (the Italian, canned and salted type that I would rinse and fillet) but the sodium was getting to me. In Europe I would buy white anchovies, fresh. But in the US I could not find them. Until now, and these are canned and cooked! They are delicious and such a great find. So healthly and nutritious too. And I would say even yummier than sardines (which I love). These are definitely a new staple for me.

Nothing better on the market
Mild, delicious, the oil is fresh (not strongly fishy) and sustainably fished. I eat it on crackers with a crack of pepper and a squeeze of lemon. Nothing better on the market.

High in protein and healthful fatty acids. A truly great food.
It's difficult to get mackerel of this quality for this price. For high a food that is high in protein and fantasticly healthful EPA fatty acids, you can't beat mackarel.

Even better than--and totally different from-- traditional anchovies
These came promptly and they are DELICIOUS. These are nothing even remotely like oil-and-salt-packed, traditional anchovies. Not by a long shot; these are a wholly different thing, so they are not necessarily to everyone's taste, but I really enjoy them. That said, these taste MUCH saltier than they actually are, in terms of real sodium content. They taste in some ways kind of like the ocean smells. This would be a great product for people on a low-salt diet. They also taste distinctly of their rich omega-3 content. It's a fatty, rich, intensely umami flavor that I've experienced in omega-3 enriched eggs as well. It's fishy in the sense that it tastes like fresh fish (not fish going bad). These are a super tasty, healthy option for busy people who need a "backup" dinner in case they get caught up in something during the evening. Would highly recommend to anyone with an adventurous palette.

Fantastic
Prepared boquerones are expensive and hard to obtain/expensive because of refrigerated shipping. This product is absolutely fantastic to make your own whenever you want them. I chill the can before opening to firm of the fish. Give them a quick rise them marinate them in a mild white vinegar with some lemon. Add salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder to your liking. These are really good.

Not What You May Think
These are not the saltly little condiments that you add to Caesar's Dressing or pizza topping. These are actually healthy, delicious food caught responsiblly to leave a little for future generations. Great in sandwiches, soups, salads and pasta dressings, these babies are high in Omega 3 fatty acids and much more digestable than a capsule. They are a little milder than sardines, but more like sardines than the salty, preserved anchovies or anchovie paste to which we are accustomed. Availability is spotty, so I had considered giving this a one star so you wouldn't buy them out from under me. I decided to let my higher angels win.

7 or 8 to a can, not very salty, more like what you normally expect with sardines
I throw a can with the olive oil in a salad and toss; squeeze on some lemon and you have a good healthy meal. Looking at the reviews I realized these would be large and not salty. That is true. So I ordered these to use where I might want anchovies OR sardines. The size and taste is much more like you get with sardines so keep that in mind. I don't think they are what you want to put on a pizza if you are thinking of those little salty things. 7 or 8 fish in a can. would be able to cut one in 2 or 3 pieces to put on a Ritz cracker. We like them and I like the versatility of the product.

Very good, very good for you, worth a try
I feel compelled to review these because I think they require an explanation. First, these are nothing like what we usually think of as anchovies. The usual canned/jarred anchovies are used as a flavoring to add umami to a dish. These are not for flavoring but for eating. The flavor is mild and very nice. The look a bit like headless sardines but i like the flavor of these better. Second, these are nothing like Spanish white anchovies (Boquerones) either. I *love* those, but these are not pickled like those, nor are they flexible fillets. These are closer to canned sardines, but with a milder flavor than sardines. I use them in sandwiches with red onion or sweet onion, lettuce and a touch of mayonnaise. They work in salad too.

Absolutely Delicious !!!!!
Fast delivery, these little white anchovies are mild, delectable & perfect as a snack, appetizer or just right out of the can. They are mild, delicate & truly terrific ! I shared some with two of my bestest friends, they too loved them...just on crackers. 5 Star product...but better to buy a dozen at a time, as you could go through a couple of cans in just one setting.

Firm, fresh fish and no bones
I order this several times a year in bulk; excellent fish fillets in olive oil. Makes a great meal for lunch or dinner with rice and vegetables for my family and very healthy. It used to cost a little less but still a good value and the fish tastes firm, fresh and I like that there's no bones.
