Just Getting to Know My Fancy Microwave

This microwave was recently installed as I redo my kitchen. It looks nice and sleek in my island. It does heat faster than my old microwave. I have to pay attention to this change. I did read the reviews on this item before I bought it. Some of the reviews were mixed so I decided to research other models. I discovered in this process that all of the in drawer microwaves are made by Sharp. They have the patent. As a result, you can spend $500 more for the same microwave with a high end name but it is still made by Sharp.

Life changing

I’m a construction manager so when it comes to appliances I don’t cheap out in my own personal life as those are the things that fail often and become a headache! I’ve had this unit for 2 years with not one issue! Easy to clean, accurate cooking times, lots of built in automatic warming features, thaw mode actuallly thaws food and not cooks them! Not one compliant from me and I have used and installed several other very expensive brand microwave drawers for clients all of whom were disappointed! They the switched to sharp with success!

I did my research...found out that all microwave drawers are made by Sharp with other labels installing their own fronts....and prices. Sharp is the best value & best fit the opening for our below-counter installation. Sharp does make a less expensive model but we chose this one because of the clean lines and tilt-out control panel. During my research I learned drawer microwaves can have serious mechanical problems. I purchased the Square Trade 4 yr warranty (at an additional cost) so I don't have to fight the manufacturer if our new drawer microwave decides to commit suicide.

So far so good after two months

So far so good after two months. Looks great in our new kitchen with our other stainless steel appliances. Very sleek and modern. Controls are very convenient. Much better to use than reaching over a stove to put items in or take out. Reheat feature is excellent.

I love this microwave

I love this microwave. It looks great and functions just like a microwave should! And because I purchase items based on pictures I figured I should add my own. :) Side note: this is the 24" microwave. When I ordered my cabinets I ordered a 30" cabinet and a 15" cabinet (I didn't really pay attention to the sizes..) to make up my island. When the cabinets got here the cabinet installer asked why I ordered the smaller microwave. I told them I thought they were standard sizes and never even looked. They were going to custom fit the 24" microwave into the 30" cabinet (because it was going to be like $400 between paying shipping back and ordering the bigger size) but it turned out there was a defect in the cabinet and they had to send it back! Worked out to my benefit because they replaced it with two 24" cabinets that required no additional modifications for the microwave. Moral of the story: make sure you order the right one!

Wow!!! My interior decorator advised me to get this and I'm so glad I did. Excellent product for the price. Revolutionary!! Everyone needs this in Place of the countertop ones or the ones above your stove like I used to have. Amazingly convenient!!! Love it!!! Beautiful too!!

Happy with our purchase

Love this microwave! We compared prices at several appliance stores and found it on Amazon for much less. So far, we are happy with it. Very quiet and love how it looks. It was a little hard to get used to (opening and closing with the push of a button) after years of using a traditional microwave. There were mixed reviews on this product, but we decided to take a chance. Glad we did!

I think the negative reviewers might have gotten lemons because ours works great. Yes, there's no carosel so food doesn't heat as evenly as it would in a carosel microwave but I'm happy to make that trade for having a hidden microwave as opposed to an eye-sore in my pretty new kitchen. Mine definitely heats food better than the reviewer who said it just got the plate hot & not the food. Haven't had that problem at all. We have been using it for almost a year now. Also I have found the drawer style to be easier to clean. Overall we're very happy with it.
