I love this microscope light!
After looking through all of the options, this one stands out for having a better design at a cheaper price point. -More expensive units have plastic mounting holes that can be stripped over time and this product has metal threads that should make this last longer. -While more expensive units have more lights, they are generally smaller than the LEDs inside this product which makes the lighting pretty much equal between them. -More expensive models have the cord and switch in a weird position while this product has it where you can easily adjust the brightness and turn it on and off without having to look away from the microscope.

Illuminates Beautifully, Adjustable from too bright near zero, Great Quality
I mounted this on my stereo microscope to replace an old fluorescent lamp and I love it. The thumbscrews provided a nice tight fit on my Nikon scope and the illumination adjustment provided a wide range of illumination options. I was able to locate the adjustment knob on the right side of my scope facing me and the power cord draped off to the back of the scope and out of the way. Highly recommend this microscope lamp for the price.

Great value for utilitarian use.
A great value. The light is bright enough for low magnification paleontology prep work. The light color is bluer than daylight, and I'm sure the CRI isn't great, but it's not bad to work with compared to much more expensive fiber optic ring lights with halogen generators. It's quite light...lighter than a fiber optic assembly and cable. The on/off and intensity control are nice to have mounted near the objectives. The cord could be longer, but it's adequate. The diameter of the mount works fine with the surplus Leica binocular units I've tried it with. I would not use this light if color judgement is important for the application.

Replace that old florescent ring light bulb with LED's
I have a microscope that had a Micro-Lite FL-100 with a fluorescent ring light ( 2 levels of brightness). Unfortunately, I hit it with a metal tool and cracked the bulb. So, I was off to search for a replacement bulb. Cheapest was around $45. Ouch. As an alternative, I searched and found this microscope ring lights. The benefits? lower wattage-less heat, a plastic cover over the LED rings to prevent inadvertent damage, a rotary control for min to full brightness, and a price that was less than half the cost of replacing the bulb. Excellent product.

Good item for a microscope, convenient
I was looking at 3 row diodes LED light for my microscope with 144 diodes, but reading the comments to it figured out that the brightness is similar to this 56 diodes light due to the difference in sizes. Such as this item doesn’t use a power adaptor, I have decided to get it instead. It was a right decision - I am really happy with the purchase, I have more than enough light level (never using it’s adjustment to full).

Works great
This light works great. I have never tried the 144 led version, but gave this one a try since the screws have a metal standoff in the plastic base of light. The 144 led version has it's screws directly in the plastic, or so the reviews for that product said so. I have no complaints, it's bright, adjustable, and have a on and off switch on it. From the microscope, everything is lighted up in the eyepieces.

worth it!
I feel you are getting a good value here. The unit is light weight yet feels sturdy enough to last. Brass thread inserts for the mounting screws should hold up well. On/Off switch and dimmer knob are secure and have a good feel. I go this to use on an old Swift Stereo Eighty which did not have a ring light. The improvement a ring light makes is huge.

Very good
The light gets very bright, and you can dim it with the knob. The cord could be a bit longer and the ring gets a little warm when on for a while, but nothing that should be a problem. The screws screw into metal rings, instead of plastic like with other variants of this ring. Overall I'm very satisfied.

Solid Light - works with Amscope SM-xxx series scopes.
I believe this light might be as bright or brighter than the 144 LED light. I’m guessing this is due to the choice of LEDs. I’ve yet to have something that this light is too dim for when doing circuit board work. It comes with a plastic mounting right. Consider upgrading to a metal one at the same time.

How did I live without this?
I engrave under a stereoscope, and adjusting a flexible light was a PITA. I attached this and never looked back. As for the brightness, I have to turn it down, it's more than bright.
