Excellent Bug Buddy. I love all the cool features and there is loads of room for my little friends. The size is perfect for the insects I find in my home during winter. I use to keep them in pickle jars until spring when I let them go, but this is so much nicer. The night light is very bright and the carrying handle is a plus. The top is secure just don't pick the barn up by the sides - it causes the lid to pop off. With a little ingenuity and TCL this little critter barn can become an insectopia. I usually find anywhere between 10 to 15 stink bugs in my home during the winter months. They find their way in during the dogs days in August and come out when they are hungry in October. As I have a kind heart, I keep them until spring. I feed them oranges, apples, cherries and bananas. They seem to enjoy oranges the best and feed 3 to 4 times daily. I grow oat grass for my cats and put that on the bottom - it's purpose is to bring them close to the outdoors and to also catch the bug droppings. The longer I keep them the friendlier and smarter they become. I think with the proper adult supervision, a child could use this critter barn to learn to care for an insect like a small pet. All in all, great purchase. I'm glad I found this - it really helps in discovering, learning and caring for nature.

This is a perfect temporary house for all the critters my daughter tries to bring home. It has held up well even after being left outside several times. The light isn't very bright and doesn't do much, but it is a feature that makes it more than just a glass jar she was using before. I would recommend this.

Perfect. Keeps bugs in. Easy for 8 yr old to use and maintain. Light died quickly from excessive use. Should change light button so that it cannot be accidentally left on but instead require a constant manual depressing of button to get it to turn on for roughly a minute or two.

My 3 year old daughter loves catching bugs and frogs. This is perfect for her. It has a light so she can see the critter housed in it well. The lid latches well so I don’t have to worry about them escaping inside. Great gift and a great price.

We love this "bug box". We ended up buying a second so the kids don't fight over it. It is the perfect size for kids to carry and it holds a lot of roly polys. :)

It’s getting loads of use and holding up well. Many frogs, toads, fireflies, caterpillars, and other bugs have had temporary housing in this little habitat. It’s much easier to see into than previous habitats we’ve had. The size seemed a bit small at first, but it’s not a permanent home, so it definitely works as it is. Just gives my son a chance to observe, photograph, & ID various critters - he is a naturalist at heart, so this thing is a must have item for our family. :-) The light is a nice feature. The air holes are great but not large enough to let the various critters we have observed out of the habitat. I liked the door better on a previous model we had, but all in all this habitat has more pros than that one did. So thumbs up from this nature loving family. 👍🏼👍🏼

Kids love this....always be diligent to make sure that critters don't stay longer in here than necessary. It gets hot in the sun and kids can be forgetful. That being said, its neat to hear the crickets sing in the tent on overnight camping stays, while confident that said crickets won't end up coming home with you after you are done. Well made, needed a little adjusting to get the light to work, but overall very happy.

Great product. My kids love the outdoors and this box has stood up to the abuse. You can often find it in the back of a bike or on their peg perego gator ready for the next adventure. It has been used to hold earthworms, frogs, and most recently lightening bugs. :) My boys have also used it to plant seeds that were later transplanted to our garden. It is basically their go to tool when playing outside.

I got this for my 3 year old who carries it everywhere and love to catch bugs and look at them. My only complaint is that the lid does not lock well so if I have something like a gnarly spider in it, I tape the lid down to keep it from accidentally falling off.

I bought this for my 2 year old son. He likes using it for caterpillars and toads most. It holds the bugs fine and he loves the light on it.
