Ok, it makes ice balls. And the kids actually fight over them. Seriously, right? Who fights over ice? It makes round frozen water well. And it does really seem to not melt as quickly. I'm glad it's BPA free considering how much this get used. My only regret is that it only makes 4. I'm going to have to purchase additional ones. Ironically this frustrates me because I have a perfectly functioning ice maker in my freezer. Reluctantly, I have to admit it's a great product.

Really cool product. Easy to pop the ice out of the container because of its flexible material. The top and bottom fits one inside the other however you have to stop filling this without overflowing otherwise your ice ball has a little stick on top... which is truly no big deal. Item came fast which is surprising because I’m in Hawaii. Usually takes about a week but this came in two days.

“I really like this product! I strongly recommend watching the video to use it. After reading the instructions, something didn't seem right. After watching I realized my mistake. They came out great right from my 1st attempt and are a hit with our family,”

You fill these 90% and then freeze them. It's difficult to tell when you're at 90% and if you overfill you might get a ring around Saturn kind of a thing going on and you'll definitely have a nipple at the top where it pushes up and out as it expands and freezes. You honestly just have to eyeball it and when they are in a beverage with color or carbonation you don't really notice the imperfections but you are totally impressed that you have a giant sphere of ice in your glass. Run them under hot tap water for about a minute and the ice will pop out smooth as you please.

So great! Having round balls of ice, our scotch is now chilled , but not watered down. Wonderful to pull these out and sit down with my hubs with a nice glass of single malt or your own preferred beverage after a good day. Well made, freezes quickly. Love that it's food grade silicone, cleans easily and a snap to fill. . Definitely would buy again.

My REVISED Review as Sept 5 2016 The ice cubs indeed can be good but, there some tricks to it make this so. First off is simply the law of physics; oxygen always floats to the top. -(Keep this in mind when making your cubes). IGNORE THE PRODUCT INSTRUCTIONS AND DO IT THIS WAY. Once I made the 1st batch I examined my yield closely to make the 2nd batch better. I finally nailed it perfectly on my 3rd batch! -This is 2-step/2 freeze operation. Fill the bottom half of the 4 individual spheres themselves in the tray only fill half-full. DO NOT use or attach the top piece of the mold at this first-step!. Make sure this now bottom-open face of the mold sits perfectly flat and level in your freezer overnight. -In the morning, place the top piece over the bottom piece open and carefully completely close the mold. Then fill the 4 open small top mold cover with water carefully pouring slowly and liberally into the 4 small open holes on the top piece of the closed mold. DOUBLE CHECK! This is critical for success. These small holes on top of your mold MUST BE filled to the very top to the point of "overfilling." YES, the top piece of the mold will wind up being full of excess water but, MAKE NO ATTEMPT at all to drain off water. -Best possible place to do your second filling is the mold already laying perfectly flat in your freezer. Leave mold and water in exact same level and as flat as possible place to freeze overnight. -Next day Carefully open the overnight frozen mold and simply let the over flow of ice break-off from the top half of the mold. Your frozen spheres of ice will have little to no flashings -which will easily break off) and your yield will actually be as touted, "perfectly round ice spheres!" - I believe this is as good as it gets with this fine product. It took me 3 separate consecutive batches to finally nail it and "get it just right." I totally LOVE these ice spheres! My cocktails are far less watered down. I only use perfectly shaped burgundy wineglasses for such beverages, so cosmetically speaking, the effect is stunning!

I never knew I needed ice balls... yes, ice balls. This mold is one of a kind. The instructions are simple: Pour the water (I use bottled spring water) into the mold until 3/4 full, put on the lid, and push a little so the water comes out. Put into the freezer overnight and voila! Beautiful, clear and perfectly round ice balls for your old fashioned or manhattan glass. Definitely adds a touch of class, and doesn't dilute your drink. Don't know how I lived without this. Compact and fits nicely in my little freezer. I will also experiment and freeze juices with bits of fruit in them. Will be quite fancy. I highly recommend.

I have been using this now for a year and it works well. The ice balls are the perfect size for your drink. It is a little difficult to fill the mold if you are using your refrigerator's water spout, as it comes out fast. I use a glass and pour into the mold. You also have to figure out just the right amount of water (which you get used to quickly) so that the water squirts up through the holes in the top mold. It is important that the top mold has some water in its well so that the cover stays down as the ice balls freeze and expand. I also learned that you have to twist and turn the mold quite a bit when you are ready to take out the ice balls. Do this one way, then turn the mold 90 degrees and do it again. Keep doing that until you return to the original side of the mold. This helps the balls be more perfectly round and remove the "wings" that form. Overall, a great product that I highly recommend.

I love the compact design of this mold. It takes up very little room in my small freezer. The ice balls come out easily. I bought this for my Chill cup to replace the bagged ice (which takes up way too much room). The first time, I put two balls in and was disappointed when they melted after a couple of hours. That didn't happen when I added all four the next time. The balls stayed frozen for up to six hours before I noticed a thaw. I'm tempted to order another mold to have as a backup. Highly recommended.

Works great, if you end up with a weird looking frisbee, go back & read the instructions. Once we figured that out, they're awesome :) Ice balls melt far slower than cubes or other traditional ice used in drinks, meaning your drink stays colder longer without getting watered down anywhere near as fast. You also go through a lot less ice since they tend to last through more than 1 drink.
