Great violin rest!!!
We bought this violin rest for our son. He was using a 3/4 sized violin, and just moved up to a 4/4 size this new school year. What's great about this rest is that it moves up with the violins. So basically you don't have to buy another once they get to 4/4 size. Quality is good, it does seems well made. And from what I was told you can get replacement parts for it. The only thing I must add is that it's very sensitive (which is both good and bad) when mounting to the violin. It's adjustable which is good. But when mounting if you don't have it adjusted right the ends will pop off which is a bit annoying, but at the same time is good because it protects the body and finish of the violin. A standard 4/4 size rest that is not adjustable would either break or you would damage the backside of the violin. When you set it right it will be very snug. To tight and the securing ends will pop off. You won't be disappointed with this purchase.

Great Valure
Hello, my name is O.Q. Johnson, I'm the President and CEO of a small music school in Baltimore, MD. We have just initiated a strings department and we have a Peabody Masters student instructor. He said that our students that take ont he violin needed shoulder rests, so I went online to Amazon to find one for a great value for our parents and this one came up. Ordered it, and gave it to the student. Thanks again for helping MIFAL INC out. We definitely appreciate you.

Easy to use and adjust.
My daughter has two shoulder rests and this is her favorite. We had a minor issue with a piece breaking (which could have been from how my daughter used it) - that being said I asked how to purchase a replacement piece and Fiddlerman asked for a picture and then sent me a new part no charge! Turns out it has a 1 year warranty. I love the fact that if you can use this on multiple sizes of violins. So as your child grows you don't have to keep purchasing shoulder rests (unless it's just time to do so).

If you need a rest, this one is a sleeper.
I am not the musician in our family. My wife however has playd the violiin since the 6th Grade or so. Her case needed replacing and so we decided to update some of the other components. We both had valid concerns that this rest would be too stiff and uncomfortable. It is a very pretty wood grain that has a nice and natural curve. My wife ( after using it for a few months ) said, "I could see being able to use this withouth this grippy stuff. The Grippy Stuff she refered to is a foam pad that is adhered to the wood. I's OK, but it will wear out WAY before she replaces this rest. That means I will eventually have to figure out what to use to fix it. Weatherstripping for windows and doors maybe? To any amatuer violinist looking to replace the rest for the 4/4 violin, grab this one and give it a shaot. If you don't like it it has a return policy. All I can say is my wife LOVES hers.

Easy to repeatedly Use. Better priced. Gentle to violin.
I tried a few different brands. everst, kun. I find this one to be the kindest to the violin. the rubber feet are a medium soft material. Not as soft as the ones with the rubber tubing. But, these do not scratch. I scratched with the rubber tubing kind, b/c it does not cover the ends all the way and there is a metal or wooden peg inside. I found this to stay on. My Kun was rubber ended, and had the flexibility of adjusting 4 ways, but it fell off easily. It is soft on the shoulder and it is nice looking too. I do like that I can fit in in my case b/c it folds down. price is fair too. In general it takes some time to adjust should rests so that it is comfortable and holds your violin still on your shoulder. I feel like I can repeatedly put this on and use it without readjusting.

My violin player prefers this to the more expensive ones
My son has a so-so violin that he keeps at school, and also a very nice 1850s violin that he plays in his large downtown orchestra. He has an expensive shoulder rest that he had planned to keep with his nice violin and this Fidddlerman was supposed to then stay with his school violin. Except..as soon as the Fiddlerman arrived and he tried it...he liked it much better! Not only did he find it more comfortable, the collapsible feet made it much easier to get in his case. So this one is staying with his 1850 violin for his Symphony Orchestra rehearsals/performances! Very happy with this purchase!

Well worth the $ and fantastic quality! Thanks!
My son got this as an early Christmas gift because he has a strings concert coming up. He took the shoulder rest to school and everyone was in awe of the quality and feel of the rest. They kept saying "oh wow that's good quality" & "smells like real wood!" And "that's an awesome rest! Can I try it out!?" It was passed around the music room for those to try it. Many of these 7th graders wanted to tell their parents where to buy so my son told them on amazon! Where else he also added! As a mom I Love the collapsible feet and the feel of wood as it looks great on my sons violin and can't wait to see him play this upcoming Tuesday with it in the orchestra. Thanks for an awesome product!!!!

which I loved, but it finally fell apart
My first shoulder rest was a Kun, which I loved, but it finally fell apart. Tried a few other lower quality rests, but they sat up too high and gave me neck problems. This unit has a better range of adjustment, and I like it a lot. Fit and finish are quite elegant - not that anyone pays attention to a shoulder rest....

Love it
I spent a little more money on this because i wanted a comfortable sholder rest, it was definitely worth it. I previously had a cheap no name shoulder rest that I got for about ten bucks. This one looks great, feels great, and is a good price for begginers like me who are serious about practicing all the time. His youtube videos are also awesome and a great way to start learning.

Excellent Product, Excellent Service
I've always had a shoulder rest for my violin, and with a long rubber band could affix the shoulder rest to my violin. But, eventually the rubber band wears out. This shoulder rest is phenomenal! It has adjustable feet, and no rubber band. It easily sits inside my case on top of my violin, but still room to close the case. Great product.
