Amazing Collapsible Small Softbox
I bought two of these to test and use in case I lacked other options. The light coming from these is amazing from something only 12" in diameter! I have used them for environmental portraits as well as some small product photography. Folded at 5" in diameter and 1" think I can easily keep two of these with me all of the time. They are well constructed but have a couple of small issues. When open, the front and back do not stay parallel to each other. I had some old plastic gift cards lying around which just happened to be the right size to prop the front the back apart near the top. You have to slide your speedlight/flash head into an elastic band on the inside. For large flash heads it is very tight fit, for small flashes you have to slide the flash in so far that you may not have access to the flash controls. Even by moving the elastic band a 1/2" closer to the opening edge would be a big help. I have used these with Metz 64 AF-1, Nikon SB800, Olympus FL-50R, Olympus FL-600R. The Fl-660R is the smallest flash I would use with these. I've even used a Quantum T5D-r when I wanted to get more directional light from the open bulb flash.

Much lower price for the same quality
I got the F-Stoppers Flash-disc and after two years of regular use, I accidentally left it at a client's house. It was one of my biggest regrets of the summer. I was eager to replace it but hesitated to spend another $50, which is when I decided to give this a try. I was so shocked to find the quality was almost the same as my flash-disc for a fraction of the price! I really don't notice any difference at all! It takes quite a big to tugging to get it on to your flash but that was the same with the F-Stoppers Flash-disc too. Otherwise, the photos turn out well and I've got money left over for other things. Love it!

Spending less for the same results. I'll pay for that.
I just love it. Half the price compared to the big name for the same product. Silver interior throughout just like FS product.

It feels like a secure fit
I also own a rogue flash bender and Gary Fong dome. They all have their pro's and cons. This flash attachment is very compact and installs very quickly. It feels like a secure fit. The flash cannot be swiveled once the modifier is attached because of the way it is designed, so the flash is always pointing straight up. The rogue flash bender CAN swivel but sometimes it's weight (or wind) would cause it to tilt forward unexpectedly. Apparently the newer flash benders are lighter. None of these guys are great as softboxes but they are better than nothing. I stopped using the Fong dome because it was very hard to attached (they've improved that too), and I didn't see too much difference with lighting. I would say this one wins for weight, compactability, and ease of application. It does collapse at the top when installed. To make it fully expanded, I cut a piece of plastic straw and stick this between the two panels on the outside. Works fine but I don't think it makes much of a difference. The rogue "softbox" also has the issue of not being really expanded and always on the wrinkly side. What's nice about the flash bender is it's ability to be a snoot so you get 2 for one, but I do feel it is clumsier than this meking when using the flash straight up.

Exactly same as FStoppers but half the price
I don't make money out of my photography so I try to buy the cheapest with good quality. I have SB-910 and have FStoppers flash disc which is great no doubt. Recently I added Yongnuo flash to my kit, so I needed another softbox effect from my flash. Just when I was about to buy FStoppers version Amazon suggested similar items, so I gave this one a try especially half the price is very tempting. To me there is no difference and everything feels like same factory is building these for both without the FS logo on it. If you're on the fence about getting one of these do not worry and get two of these for the same price of FS instead of one. One thing to note is the strap is bit tight for full sized speedlight other than that this is a great product. Hope FS take a note on the price and bring it down to match Meking.

At $12 it became my favorite diffuser
This device is noe my favorite head-on diffuser, and I have tried many. It's not going to give the beautiful soft light like from a 3 foot softbox, or even when bounced directly off the ceiling, but it does a great job when those options aren't available. There is a slight color change on the light, but nothing horrible. The power also drops down a little, but again nothing that caused serious changes. The biggest drawback I have with it, is the size. When you're taking shots you want to make your subjects relaxed. Using small lenses and standing a bit further back helps people remain relaxed. This thing is pretty big sitting on top of a hotshoe speedlight. I haven't used it for an event yet, but it just makes your camera a bit more intimidating. The Grey/White/Black card side can be used for white balance, but what seems odd to me. The idea is that you use it so you can set the white balance. But in order to use it, you must take it off the flash. When you put it back on the flash, it might change the color of the light (slightly) and thus your previous WB setting isn't 100% accurate anymore. All-in-all, I think this is well worth $12 to have in your arsenal and give a test run.

and I like Lee, Patrick
Ok, another Chinese knock-off. I bought it to see how much of one it was. It's the Fstoppers Flash Disc, just without the logo. I can't tell the difference between my two originals and this Canal Street version. Oh, except for the price tag. Now, I've spent a lot of money with Fstoppers, and I like Lee, Patrick, Pye, et al. They put out great products and tutorials. I have two of their discs, but for the third I went for price. This one is mostly a backup, and it stays in its pouch most of the time. Still, it's a dead ringer for the high-priced spread, so if you're on a budget and just have to have a couple of these, you can get them half price with free Prime shipping. Only your conscience will know the difference.

Works very well!
I've so far only tested this in normal rooms (nothing with a high ceiling and not outside, yet) but it works wonderfully. It bounces and diffuses very effectively and gives me exactly the look I want in portraits. - I tested it combined with a gel earlier - I strapped one onto the flash and then shoved this on top - and it worked very well. - It collapses to a convenient size in a little bag - I managed to fold it back in on the first try, but if you're not familiar with the way reflector/diffuser discs fold in on themselves, it might take you a few tries. - It's very nice that it uses an elastic strip to fasten on to the flash; I have speedlights of different sizes and it can mount on any of them. (Neewer TT560, Quantaray PZ1 DSZ, Yongnuo 568 EX) Comparison: I also own the Neewer 8"x6"/20x15cm Translucent Softbox for Canon G1 X/600D/1D X/SX40 HS/SX150 IS/60D/550D,Nikon D7000/D5100/ D5000/D3100/D3000/D700/D300,Neewer TT560 TT520 TT660 TT850 TT860 and Other DSLR Flashes ... and I'd rate the Meking as the better product, though it does depend on the effect you're looking for; the Neewer softbox is directional, whereas this is an all-over diffuser. - The only drawback is that it's a bit large to have on top of your camera, but I'm sure I'll get used to it very quickly. It's very light, and is no problem to wield. Five stars, all around!

Amazing little softbox! A must HAVE!!
Wow!! So first let me start off by saying, I bought this item back in November,I stored it in my camera bag and actually forgot I had it in there up until this recent weekend! Let's just say I had a 30 minute photo session with a couple and just found it silly to use my bigger softbox (takes time setting up) -- anyway I remembered I had this little thing and wow am I impressed with the results. Not only was is quick to set up, but it was light and easy to use. I put this on my flash and took some of the most beautiful maternity photos. Only thing was it did fall off but I think I didn't tighten enough ( I have a smaller godox flash ) which may have something to do with it. Anyway,I really liked this product especially for the price. Will be buying another for my second camera

Amazing light modifier for on camera flash
I never use on camera flash. Absolutely hate it! However, I’ve been helping a friend and second shooting a few weddings for him. I thought I’d give this a go for during the receptions when it’s so dark. It is AMAZING!! I actually have used it at a school event in the dark yellow gym and it worked perfectly! Then again at a wedding reception. It softens and directs the light so it doesn’t look like ugly on camera flash! Highly recommend, especially for the price! The one down side is, it’s kind of a pain to get on the flash, but I think with use the elastic will stretch a bit and that will become easier.
