Never used a product like this before so I don't have anything to compare it to but it does seem to hit all the right points: Easy to cut straight lines in with a fresh utility knife, even freehand. It has a lot of dampened mass, almost like a rubberized asphalt with a tin foil backing... very heavy. Backing comes off pretty easily and is quite sticky but not impossible to move if you need to re-position it. Adheres without any worry of coming free once you roll it down. Overall just a very easy product to work with and I'm sure comparable performance at half the price of Dynamat.

The hype is real with this product. I did the outer and inner skin of all 4 doors in my wagon. Ended up using 7.5 of the 9 sheets in the box. Using a utility knife and occasionally scissors this stuff was easy to cut. Lots of videos online showing tracing shapes using the vapor barrier from the door or plastic sheets with a sharpie to get outlines and transfering that. Honestly that is all overkill. The process of installing this deadening material is way easier than I thought it would be. The aluminum backing dents easily so you can use a tape measure to get a rough idea, make the cut, then test fit. In the door panel just bent around stuff and make more cuts as needed. The tools I ended up using were utility knife scissors alcohol and a rag for cleaning prep wooden roller tape measure The results are beyond what I expected. The doors are so much quieter now that I have a sensation my car got slower because I am not getting as much audible feedback of wind, road, engine, exhaust, tire noise. It is a bit creepy how much quieter the drive got. This was part of a car audio install which included new speakers. The speakers are running at 110w RMS. The midbass power and detail of sound is phenomenal. I can turn up the volume all the way with zero rattles. Listening while driving down the road even at lower volumes sounds like the entire world disappeared. Just the music coming out of the doors. Great product.

This a great product and cheaper than the competition. I used it to lessen the noise in the cab of my camper van, also used it around (interior) wheel wells in the rear. Easy to use, just measure, peel and stick. Then use a small roller (I used a carpet roller) to flatten and smooth seams out.

This product is superior to the name brand similar products on the market and OMG ! what a cost savings !!! I have gone crazy using it on everything I can think of, most recently I lined the inside of my outboard motor cover, and it made quite a difference in the noise level, also have lined the washer and dryer, car doors and trunk. It is easy to apply and has NO smell. I am reordering more.

Purchased 36 sq. ft. of 80 Mil for select places on the floor and 150 sq. ft. of the 50 Mil for every where else at 100% coverage on a Ford Escape. I can't believe the results! My expectations have been exceeded. Product forms easily to the vehicles contours. Butyl is dense and completely deadens exterior sounds by restricting vibrations in sheet-metal. No odor and easy installation. Highly Recommend!!!

I used this on the doors of my 2017 VW GTI. I was getting a good bit of rattles from bass when turning the volume up to even half. I was able to kill all of the rattles with this and some of the 3M widow weld which is just a rubber putty kind of product. Not only did it kill the rattles but it also made the bass response from the door speakers noticeably better. I will say that I lined both the inside of the door panels and the doors them selves. A lot of people just do one or the other. I started by just doing the inside of the door panels but felt like it could be better. My two cents is that I would recommend doing both.

Installed this in my 2007 subaru Forester. 36 sq feet is more than enough to do all the doors, the rear hatch, rear side panels, and still have some left over. On the doors, I opted to do the inside of the outer door skin as well as the inside as the inner door skin. I bought a small butane blow torch from Amazon and used it to heat up the material after lightly applying it. This improves adhesion and makes rolling it easier. You also need a small roller (get the wooden one) to apply this stuff. Cutting this is easy; use a utility knife or a pair of EMT shears. Finally, wear hand protection. I wore two layers of surgical gloves. The metal on the door skins is sharp, and this stuff is sticky and gets on your hands and clothes. You will not be able to get it off. And the better you apply it, the better it works. I was surprised at how much quieter my car is now. The Forester had absolutely no sound insulation before. Expect to spend about 2 hours per door. Road noise and noise from passing cars is reduced. This stuff works by changing the resonant frequencies of the sound waves. It is not necessary to cover 100% of the doors. 25% to 50% coverage is enough. As you work to put this on, you can tap or thump your doors to check your progress. Doors close with a solid, low frequency thump much like the door of a Lexus or BMW. There are fewer rattles than before, my stereo sounds better, and my sex life has improved. Just kidding about that last part, I don't have a sex life. However, I do notice wind noise more than before.

Very very good product. Bought 3 boxes (36 sq. ft. each) to do my 2013 Toyota Avalon. I only used 2. My dad (former auto body guy) and I installed it on all the flooring and in the trunk. It took about 7-8 hours beginning to end. We did not put it in the doors or roof. Using a decibel meter app on my phone I had recorded the following decibels prior to installation. Idle- 31 db, 35 mph - 52 db, 70 mph- 72 db. After installation my numbers are Idle- 31 db, 35 mph - 35 db, 70 mph 53-58 db (depending on road conditions). I also need to replace my tires, so it should get even better after that. Be aware that the material can have razor sharp edges once trimmed; so wear work gloves.

Applied 1.5 boxes to 2017 mazda 3. Easy to work with. I haven't worked with other brands before. Fatmat smells gross right out of the box so i returned it for this. This doesn't smell, comes in workable sheets. I'd recommend a razor blade knife, the dynamat roller, a box of replacement trim clips, a panel remover, and a lot of patience. Don't fool yourself, it takes a full day to take a car apart and apply this stuff. If you've got the car torn apart just spend the extra money and purchase MLV right away. 40 sq ft will do a mazda hatch floor but won't cover the door areas. Wheel wells, floor boards, and firewall are the important parts. Keeps my car sounding tight. Also applied D weatherstrip to doors to reduce wind noise which becomes apparent after you quite down the road noise and vibration.

Loved it, I bought two boxes and used about 1.1/4 boxes on the floor of my 2001 f250 diesel. I was able to go from 89.3 dbs inside the cabin to 77 dbs
