Perfect addition to my lights setup
The Philips Hue Go is somewhat perfect albeit a highly, highly overpriced device. I got them on sale so saved a few bucks. I wanted to add them to my TV game room setup since I already had invested in the Philips hue bridge and color/white lights earlier this year. I don't use the lights on battery as they drain out fairly quickly (~1.5 hrs), but these lights stay on during brief/emergency power cuts. The other point I would highlight is that be very gentle when connecting/removing the power cord to the device since it feels flimsy and feels like it will either break or damage the internals.

Great emergency lantern.
One desire would be for the light to be brighter, however, the light level is comfortable for your eyes when in direct line of sight. I use this lamp daily at my desk to add a little "daylight" to a dark office. It's small size is great, as it can be placed just about anywhere and travels well. The built in battery is extremely useful when the power goes out. It's also great for camping, RV's and boats and charges pretty well off a small 15W GoalZero solar panel. Only other thing I can think of that would make the light better would be if you could re-program / customize some or all of the pre-set light settings. You can of course, use any lighting configuration you want when connected to a HUE Bridge, but, when not connected, you're limited to the factory preset lighting options, which in my opinion were better on the Gen1 models.

I love lamp!
Wife and I love lamp! Produces a decent amount of light and the color range is amazing. Unfortunately it does require a Philips Hub to take advantages of wireless control and color changing. If you don't have a hub you can still change the colors by using the button on the back of the light. I have read numerous reviews saying the light won't sit on it's side plugged it. Those are false. Rotate the power cord and the light actually uses the plug as a stand. Note, it is a little snug so be careful when unplugging it. 1st generation Amazon Echos require a Hub to use voice control. The Echo Plus (2nd gen) has a built in hub.

Perfect Lighting for Many Situations: TV, Games, Reading.
The Go's dual power source is nice. It will run on its built-in rechargeable battery or can be plugged into an AC outlet. We use it in the evening while watching TV or playing video games. In a darkened room, reducing it to a low setting is perfect for adding just enough light to see the game controllers and TV remote. No longer a need to get up and turn on a light to find the right button on the control. The candle setting is the family favorite for most situations. The gentle flickering of soft yellow light is a great imitation of candle-light and a relaxing, much-used effect. We have added the Hue Smart Bridge (Philips Hue Smart Bridge (Compatible with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant)) and the Hue Dimmer (Philips Hue Smart Dimmer Switch with Remote (Installation-Free, Exclusive for Philips Hue Lights)) which in combo permit control by both the Hue Dimmer control or by using voice commands through Amazon's Echo. Although neither of these is necessary to operate the Go, the three working together are amazing. For this purchase, it was an easy decision to click on all five-stars.

Battery backup comes in handy!!!
I’ve been using this as a wake up light for a little over a week— I am aggressively not a morning person, and having a light come on slowly takes some of the edge off (not all of the edge, but some). It communicates nicely with the Hue bridge I already had in place and I can control it via Google Home, which is my smart home device of choice. It changes color and I like the form factor and everything is neat about it. But it earned its keep tonight when our power went out. My husband and I were both squinting at things with our phone flashlights until he went into the bedroom not realizing that my new lamp was battery backed. He moved it into the common area and now we’re happy as clams in dim, warm lighting, that’s plenty to get around by. Good job Hue. Thanks for the save.

This is My Favorite Philips Hue Device
I've got several Philips Hue lightbulbs and a light strip, and the Go has become my favorite purchase so far. It's a smallish, white, plastic "bowl" of light. It serves no purpose at all other than it's nice to look at, and I really like how I've been able to create routines for certain times of day that take advantage of the bulb's rich colors and brightness settings. I most frequently set it to soft oranges, golds, and salmons but it has really nice blue and purple hues too. I use it mainly as a decorative lamp and use the Hue Labs feature in the app to cycle it slowly through several colors on a loop. It stays plugged in for the most part but I've moved it around unplugged for an hour or two and it was fine. I'd like to get another one eventually.

Works with Alexa!
I love this light! I have a tiny guest room that needed a bedside lamp/nightlight. And this hue go is perfect - clean design. Also, i was able to hook up this light to Alexa with the hue bridge 2. So now I just ask Alexa to turn on my hue go, dim it, turn it off, etc. Love it!!! Awesome as a night light, for ambience - mood setting, and as a reading light.

Heads up - these have a "candle" mode, which is a slight wavering of the light in an ultra low mode. Don't think your light is broken - it's just in candle mode... :)

HERE'S A GREAT TIP IF YOU ARE USING HUE WITH AMAZON ECHO ...
im obsessed with my hue go's. especially the candle setting. HERE'S A GREAT TIP IF YOU ARE USING HUE WITH AMAZON ECHO (ALEXA): put the candle setting on by tapping the back of the hue go, and then tell alexa to raise the light to 100%. now you have a bright and flickering candle instead of a dim one. if you try to raise the brightness in the hue app, it will just raise the brightness and keep it solid color :-)
