This was the first filter change for our new refrigerator. Used the official Whirlpool filter based on feedback that cheaper versions leaked and caused problems. Also liked the fact that this one removes so many contaminates. This worked great and was easy to change, and the water is great.

This has worked great for us. Not sure what issues caused some of the negative reviews, but I'm on my 4th one and they have all been great. I subscribe and get a new one every couple months. It takes 20 seconds to swap the filter out and we have had absolutely no issues with smell or taste or quality.

I have only installed this and had it one day but what can I say, it's a water filter. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. I'm pretty sure all the people complaining about the taste and The water being foggy don't follow directions. You have to flush a lot of water through first (4 gallons). The water only looks foggy because a filter is hundreds of thousand porous holes squeezing water through and that's how it's filtered. So for the first few days you are getting all those little bubbles from the porous holes. It goes away after a couple of days. Tastes good

Until recently, I used to buy a non-OEM filter, in order to save some money. Then, the manufacturer stopped making it. I tried another non-brand filter, and I had nothing but problems with it. The water wouldn't flow through the filter into the fridge. The ice maker stopped making ice, and filling a glass would take up to a minute. Finally, the filter just stopped filtering water. So, I located this product, which is a replacement to the one Whirlpool used to make for my fridge. It costs more than the non-OEM product I was using, but it worked as soon as I installed it, and it continues to work. I wish there was a more reasonably priced product, but I've learned my lesson about buying cheap products - sometimes they cost more in the long run when they don't work! I will continue to order these filters from now on.

by far the best brand that we have found. We love the fact that you can use your amazon prime & it gets here in a matter of days. Sometimes these will go on sale & we stock up because we have had really good results from this filter. It is true to time. Meaning, I have wrote the dates of the day we replace the filter on the filter itself and each one has lasted us exactly 6-6.5 months & we use it A LOT! it is our main source of water in the house because we are iffy about consuming the tap water! Great purchase. You can truly taste the difference it makes!

I was skeptical about buying the water filter after all the negative reviews, but it surprised me. My fridge was new and this is the first time I had to change the filter. Whatever filter was already IN the fridge had a terrible plastic taste so I was concerned that it would stay around with the new filter. To my big surprise it was much better. I only drink spring water and have drank from the filter and liked it- it had no after taste or plastic taste anymore. I did have some air bubbles following the filter change but it does go away after a little while. I made sure to run the water before the first use (as directed) although I didn't measure the water so was it exactly however many gallons??? No idea! I am very happy with my purchase and will only order this filter for my Whirpool fridge.

Whatever refrigerator you own, it's important that you go to your respective manufacturer's site to ensure you're getting the correct filter. The way these refrigerators are built, you're either going to have to ride it out with the old one (not recommended) or get a new one. There's no way to get around not having a water filter in one of these things. Our water often gets a little swampy tasting in the summer months, so the Every Drop #1 Ice & Water filter really does make a marked difference in taste for me. We also have hard water, so at around the 7th or 8th month of use, I begin to notice the filter has run its course. We have the Whirlpool 36-inch side-by-side model (WRS325SDHZ). To get to the filter, you have to open the freezer side and look for the latch on the bottom of the base. Pop it open and take note of the arrow (pointing to the left). Pull it out, take of the tip protector of the new one, and slide it in,making sure the arrow points to the left, and you're done. If you have the Whirlpool WRS325SDHZ refrigerator and you're looking for a replacement water filter, you've found it.

This filter is good. But it’s very pricey. I try to stretch it out as much as possible. Eventually the ice quality becomes pretty poor because the filter gets clogged. Lasts about as advertised. Easy to install. My Fridge has a water dispenser. I usually flush it out on first use, until there is no particles in the water. If you have ice only, definitely dump quite a few cycles before consuming. Don’t buy generic. They clog up very quick and don’t filter the water all that great. You get what you pay for in this case. If you buy 2 filters a year, Costs about $100 plus tax. Pricey but worth it. I try to wait for sales and buy one ahead of time. When I put a new one in I usually prefer to keep a spare in my kitchen draw. Overall reliable filter. Just wish it was cheaper.

Oem replacement for the drinking water- water filter. The fridge will prompt you to replace the fitler based on age and on use. Lasts us abt 6-7 months. So maybe once or twice a year it needs to be replaced. Its inexpensive, easy to change, helpful reminder on when to change, very good setup. Will only buy Whirlpool brand filters because they fit great and are reasonablely priced almst the same as the competition! Woukd highly recommend!!!!

This is the filter our Maytag fridge calls for and it works great. We change our filter approximately every 6 months when our filter indicator says it is time to change it. The water tastes great! The only down side is that you do have to run 4 gallons of water through the filter after you drain it before it is ok to drink and that is a bit of a time consuming pain...but like I said the water tastes great, so I guess it’s worth it!!
