Original: So, ever since I've discovered Epic in Stores, I love their products. So, I thought why not order subscribe and save and have them all the time! They arrived and have this white coating on them in random spots. It looks like mold, but could be anything. I have no idea and am scared to eat them until I hear back from Epic. I currently have a call and email into the company and hope to hear back. Once I do, I will update my review. UPDATED!! The white residue is NORMAL! I repeat normal. AS LONG AS the vacuum seal HAS NOT been compromised and it's within the expiration date. It's called fat migration, where the fat in the bar migrates to the outside of the bar. Epic responded awesomely and sent me a new box. They reassured me it's not a food safety issue and it's more of a cosmetic problem that they are currently working on. So, there ya go!

Way better than some random jerky you can get at the gas station. Tastes good, filling (relative to the serving size), and seems cheaper than competitors. I wish it was cheaper still but I realize there's some trade-off for not putting fillers and using pink slime. I know some people were having issues with mold or spoilage. I've been buying these for several months now and I've had no problems, so I'm guessing that was an isolated thing. In case my review isn't associated with the right flavor, I eat bison (good) and venison (good but the toughness takes some getting used to). In terms of best value, the bison has more calories and total weight per bar, but the venison has more protein, and almost no carbs.

These are a staple snack bar for our family. We eat a mostly paleo/keto diet and these work nicely for us. My youngest son is gluten and dairy free and he frequently has to take his own food wherever he goes, plenty of protein is a must for him. These work well as part of a meal or a snack. We've toted these bars across the country as they make for easy travel food in the car or backpacking or biking. The quality is high, the ingredient list is impeccably pristine and there is a great variety of flavors to choose from. Beef and bison are our favorites.

Since diagnosed with cancer (all now good and thanks for asking!) about 18 months ago, I have been on a paleo diet, so really just meat, fouw, fish, vegetables, fruit and good fats. I've dropped over 65 pounds and have seldom felt better. But one difficulty has been some sort of protein bar or snack-type food that I can grab on the go. Soy, Whey, pea and hemp proteins are not considered paleo and while most Lara bars are paleo friendly, they are heavy on the fruit with little or no protein. so I was thrilled to find these Epic bars at Whole Foods and then ordered them from Amazon (much less expensive here - 'though still pricey. I have tried the Beef, Bison, Bacon and Turkey versions. the Turkey is my least favorite, but still pretty tasty. Texture is a bit unusual, but for a grab and go protein bar that fits my paleo lifestyle, these Epic bars are wonderful and I am thankful that I found them. I know keep some in my desk drawer at work and some in the car - also and emergency 1 in my purse. I think they would also be good for hiking along with something else with more carbs. If you just want to see what they are like, my closest Whole Foods has Beef and Bison. If you like them, order them here and save a few bucks.

I love these bad boys! They are the best tasting meat based protein bars...bar none! (pardon the pun) They taste phenomenal, I've tried all other flavours they carry, and the Bison variant is my favourite. It's just the right amount of umami and sweetness from the cranberries, given Bison has a richer flavour profile and is "gamey" to some, the people of Epic managed to make magic happen by perfectly balancing flavours in this bar. It has a hearty chew and wholesome. I love the fact that their meats are harvested sustain-ably and are organic and grass fed. I'm an avid health and fitness fan and having some culinary background , they get ace marks across the board. Their customer service is note-worthy as well. They were so kind enough to send a replacement order when my original order got lost in transit, and with it a hand-writ letter of apology and brand sticker/decal. That hand-writ letter alone, speaks volume to the tradition of top-notch customer service and dedication to their cause, a virtue oft forgotten by companies nowadays, only replaced by ubiquitous, cold and clinical emails. So to the team at EPIC Bars, much thanks and keep on being epic! I've ordered their products on my own and is not sponsored.

The venison bars are amazing. You can't get more protein per calorie than this. The venison flavor, in particular, is a little dry, but I kind of like that. It's soft, so you won't break your teeth on it like with jerky. Red on the inside. Savory. A little too much salt for my taste but actually lower salt content than most other products out there. For still keeping the protein high and calories Iow, the chicken Sriracha ones are also good. Be mindful; the nutrition info is very different from one flavor to the next from Epic.

These are yummy my wife and I enjoyed these thoroughly. They are gone now but not forgotten. The cranberry added something special to these and the acidity seemed to break up the richness of the buffalo and bacon. These were quite yummy but had a shorter shelf life of a year or so. So if you were wanting them for long term storage just be aware of that. You would Probably need to replace after a couple of years but that would be not minded by me as they are really very tasty. Update: got a fresh package of bars on 10/17 and good till 7/18 A great protein bar that actually tastes really good.

I am a cyclist and eat a good amount of protein bars. I have eaten so many protein bars over the years that I'm not a fan of the normal ones any more. Edit: Flavor reviews 1. Chicken sriracha-nice and spicy. Good protein content. 2. Wild boar-tastes gamey. Greasy and not the best protein content 3. Salmon-maybe a little too much pepper. If you don't like it spicy, avoid. I like pepper but this was a bit too much for me. I'd eat this with a beer, which defeats the purpose of a low carb protein bar. 4. Bacon-tastes amazing. Probably not very healthy in the long run. 5. Bison-the cranberry and work well together.

These have a decent balance of fat, carbs and protein, and make a great snack. Easy to transport, or last for a long while on a shelf. I always have a box and home and a box at work, and keep a couple in my bag and car. While not a total meal replacement, one of these will hold me for a couple of hours until I can get a full meal. These also make a great way to supplement some decent nutritional value when you go out to eat with friends someplace that serves crap (like most places in the U.S. do!). Have one of these on the sly, then order salads or sides in the restaurant to fill out some volume, but not go hungry or resort to eating junk. Finally, these are by far the most moist of all the Epic bars. Nowhere near as dry as some of the others, so you can easily eat them without also needing a drink.

These Epic bars are GREAT! They're just the right consistency (not too hard to chew), and easy to open (no knife required, like with many similar products). I LOVE the beef, apple and bacon bars because the flavor is incredibly fantastic and there's no pepper! (At least, I couldn't discern any spiciness from pepper or other "hot" spices.) That's very hard to find with meat bars. Most of them contain pepper, which I don't like, so this was a really pleasant surprise. Will definitely get lots more of these in the future. Great for travel, due to their convenience and lack of overpowering smell when I open the package (which is a problem with other brands of meat sticks).
