Finally a toy that everyone in the family can play together! My husband and teenage son were beyond excited when they opened this up Christmas morning and my teenage daughter and 9 year old love it too! Finding something that everyone can do together is rare.

We bought overdrive starter kit as the family gift, I also got big bang and this so we had 4 vehicles. This was bought as mine (not knowing game mechanics at the time) but after learning it quickly and decimating family games it's a fight as to who gets to use it. It's preset weapons are nice and get nastier as you power up. And rage mode is REDICULOUS!!!! As long as you actually keep it in the middle lanes it owns the track the entire time rage is active. Won many races now though it's not fast in normal mode because of rage and the defensive weapon (well more a rear weapon that defensive lol). I only hate that the expansion track itself is so expensive (kind of ridiculous if you ask me) because it's delaying getting the other 2 trucks

When you see this in the box you wonder how it will do on the track. And it's true that you can't use the jump...and I would recommend at least a slightly extended track. But other than that the supertruck is a great addition. When you're in the smaller car you definitely need to think about how to carefully pass it! And there were several really exciting moments when my son was about to crash into the back of my car and I had to jerk into the outside lane to avoid being hit. Speaking of ramming, the truck definitely brings that threat to the track. However--and I am really impressed by this--even when the smaller cars are rammed from behind by the truck they stay on the track much much more than you would think. Great purchase.

Additional to the Starter kit If like me your kids are now immersing themselves in Ipads and computer games which is creating an insular environment... I highly recommend getting the Anki Overdrive system. When I got the starter kit my son (9) was less than enthusiastic.. however after realising that he can race against family, computer and match himself against challenges he has become more and more interested. Unlike the ipad where there is NO interaction with other humans I've found this to be a great medium giving him the "Tech" that he wants balancing with a healthy bit of fun with family and friends. he has now begun encouraging his friends to play so that he can have matches... perhaps we'll set up a league.

I wasn't sure I wanted to spend this much on a truck, but it was all my son wanted for his birthday. This truck is awesome, and definitely worth adding to the Anki Overdrive set!

Although I have had several problems with the starter cars ( Ground shock and Skull) and even had to have them replaced, Nuke hasn't had any problems. No issues and works great!

I've only recently started playing Anki Overdrive, and it's been fun, but it was missing something. Namely, a car that was red. Well, predominantly red. That was why I got Thermo. The metallic red fading to black with the gold-plated grill looks amazing. Which is all well and good, but we want to win races, too, don't we? Fortunately, Thermo is alarmingly fast, faster than any other car at the time of this review, and able to quickly put distance between itself and any other car. And even better, it has excellent weapons. The Flamethrower is a nice area-of-effect weapon, but my preference is for the Radiant Beam, a weapon which has seemingly unlimited range, affects objects in front of it within a narrow cone, and has terrifying damage if used correctly. For the ultimate devastating wombo combo, however, you must pair the radiant beam with Retro Rockets, which make you briefly go backwards. How is that devastating, you wonder? Imagine: You're on a straightaway and your opponents are some distance behind you. You want to seriously ruin their day. So what do you do? Get a good charge on the Radiant Beam, hit the Retro Rockets, fire the Beam right into their faces, then release the Retro Rockets and continue on your merry way while your opponents' cars are melting into piles of slag. It's *great.* But watch your energy! Thermo is far from unstoppable, however. Indeed, with his wafer-thin armor, he is quite stoppable if the other racers nail him with their attacks. Tractor beam attacks are also a serious problem for Thermo, perhaps moreso than the other cars since he relies so much on his speed. To avoid all of this, you'll need to maneuver carefully and use your abilities to the fullest. It is better to let your opponent briefly take the lead than let him disable you, so don't be afraid to ease up on the throttle. If you're wondering if Thermo is a good pick for an expansion car, the answer is "Of course!" Just be aware of his limitations and you should do fine with him.

My husband and the kids love this! It is a great reward for finishing their school work. It also gives them good time with their dad who doesn't believe in too much screen time or video games. It is great that each account builds up it's own vehicle profile. The track is huge, You need a lot of floor space or a pool table to set it up. We play in the garage and store the tracked in a plastic bin to keep them clean.

If you don't have an Anki Overdrive set at home for the kids you are missing out. The track and these cars are great for those rainy days. They can play by themselves against a computer driver, play with friends, and/or play with friends and a computer opponent. There are stages they can complete to give their vehicle (they also have trucks) more speed, power, or more effective weapons. These cars can even change lanes and the track is very easy to assemble or disassemble.

These cars are great seem to take a lot of abuse and just keep performing Nuke is a well balanced car but if your looking to get the most out of 1 expansion car you should probably take a look at Thermo
