They're grrrrrreat!! 😍🤓 Such a fun and efficient way to get around town. The metal they are made of is very sturdy and light. Easy to carry around. The handle height and separation worked well for both of us (I'm 5'8 and my boyfriend is 6'). The brake worked well. They felt easy and safe to ride since they're so close to the ground. Good gliding distance. Only complaint I have is that they are pretty rattley. I am thinking about trying to insert some small rubber or tape to absorb some rattle. The handle moves slightly due to the fit of the post that slides into place when the scooter is unfolded. The fit of the post in that slot is a little loose, so that's the only thing I'd try to improve. But no biggie at all. I think it's just fine for the price range, and doesn't affect the ride too much.

This Razor A5 fully lives up to the product description. Most online videos depict it being used by tweens or teens. I, however, bought this for my 4 year old. There is plenty of height adjustability to allow her to use it. In fact, she loves it... and her seven year old sister is quite fond of it as well. Build quality is solid. Aluminum welds a neat and even. Anodization is good quality. The grip tape on the deck seems as though it will last. Stability seems to be improved with the larger wheels, and this scooter is more tolerant of small obstacles. The larger wheels roll right over a small sidewalk bump, twig, hose or other small obstruction that would bring a smaller wheeled scooter to a sudden crashing stop. I’m confident this scooter will last for several years without a hiccup. UPDATE: Eight months later with frequent use by three kids, this scooter is still in great shape, despite the fact that it’s usually left lying on the deck exposed to the weather 24/7. This is a very well made scooter.

My kids (6 & 3) were having too much fun on their scooters for me to not join. I'm 200 lbs and this works well. Very stable. So fun that my wife asked for one too. Now we're all on scooters zooming around.

I have so many push scooters I bought from Amazon. My all time favorite was the Goped because of the high weight capacity, and its soft comfy tires. For those that are thinking of getting a scooter, you can read the following comparison based on what I have experienced. Tires and Ride: 1. Razor A5 - Tires are firm but you wont rattle your teeth because the tires are so Tall. Since they are so large, very small imperfections in the road are not noticeable. It glides very well. Although the tires are narrow, since it is so tall, it would take a pretty deep crack on the pavement to make me fall over. Score 9/10 2. Xootr - Tires aren't too large so you feel more vibration. The longest glide of all scooters. Extremely fast on smooth surfaces. More dangerous on imperfect roads, so can really be used on very well paved roads if you want to be really safe. Score 8/10. 3. Goped - The Rolls Royce of Scooter tires. These tires are big and fat, so you don't have to worry about cracks on the pavement. As long as it isn't an open manhole, I am confident I can go over it. Does not glide as far as the A5 and Xootr but not that far behind them. Score 10/10 Weight: 1. Razor A5 - It is the lightest of the 3. It is less than 9 pounds based on the scale. Very easy to carry because it isn't heavy and bulky. Score 10/10 2. Xootr - It is also light and easy to carry. Score 9/10 3. Goped - It is heavy because it is built like a tank. Score 7/10 Ease in Folding: 1. Razor A5 - Hands down winner. It is even easier to fold than the previous Razors. Score 10/10 2. Xootr - I dont like the Pin design. Score 5/10 3. Goped - Very easy to fold but primitive locking. Score 8/10 Price: 1. Razor A5 - Score 10/10 2. Xootr - Score 6/10 3. Goped - Score 9/10 Effort Required: 1. Razor A5 - It has the lowest Deck height, so your standing leg does not have to work so hard. Score 10/10 2. Xootr - It is not as low as the Razor, but since the wheels have an excellent glide, there isnt much effort required. 9/10 3. Goped - It is very high off the ground, so your standing leg has to bend more for each kick. I suppose if you are tall, it won't matter. 8/10 Looks: 1. Razor A5 - It isn't the prettiest thing out there. I am not too hot on the Red wheels and red grips. The all Aluminum frame looks bland. If I were to compare its looks to a car brand, it would be a Suzuki. Score 6/10 2. Xootr - This is the Ferrari of scooters. It is beautiful. I like looking at it, and so do other people. Score 10/10. 3. Goped - If the looks of the Xootr is like a Ferrari, this would be the Subaru Outback. Score 9/10. It isn't flashy, but it has an understated Quality look about it. The winner: Razor A5 - It is the best all around scooter I have. It is very good in everything except for looks. *****UPDATE OCT 9,2009***** I just replaced the stock ABEC 5 bearings with Bones RED bearings which I purchased from Amazon for 12 dollars for 8 bearings. Bones is the benchmark for performance skate bearings. It only took me 10 minutes to remove my old set and replace them with the Bones. RESULT: My A5 now glides just as well as my Xootr and is smoother. It is so much faster as well. You get more distance with each kick. And since I only need 4 bearings for my A5, I still have 4 more as spare. I suggest doing the same. Well worth it. *****UPDATE APRIL 19,2010****** I conducted a very simple test between my A5 and Xootr Mg. I went down a 10 degree hill that levels off, first with the A5 and then the Xootr. I let gravity propel me on both cases so that kicking power can be ruled out. Test result: The A5 went 6 feet further than my Xootr. And I still feel the Bones Reds give a very smooth ride. Definitely smoother and further than the stock bearings of the A5. But, my Xootr still looks awesome, whereas my A5 still looks dull. Note: I will conduct another test in a few weeks. I will buy 2 sets of replacement wheels from Razor so that I have a new set of tires with the original bearings. 1 set will have original bearings, and another set will have Bones Red. I will then test with a GPS both distance down a hill that levels off, and also acceleration. This will be an interesting physics experiment. I want this to be a definitive test. I will let you know. ******UPDATE NOVEMBER 3, 2014****** Wow, how time flies when you are having fun. 5 years have passed. When my nephew went to High School I gave him my prized A5 to get him there a lot quicker. Up to the point when I gave it away, it served me very well. It didn't have any problems at all. Mind you I did not do any tricks on it, which is dangerous at my age. But it was a fun way to get around and to tinker around with. I dont have my notes from the last test I did with the stock bearings against the Bones bearings, but I recall that the A5 went a considerable distance farther when I used the Bones. It sounded different as well since it felt so smooth.

I bought this because I have a very short window to make my transfer of transportation for work, I needed something portable and quick. I weigh about 320-340lbs and saw that the weight limit was 220 so I wasn't going to buy it. The ones for my weight limit are over 100$ and I don't want to spend that. First, it was at my door next day with the free expedited shipping. Second, this thing feels pretty sturdy. I've only ridden it once but I was able to haul biscuits and not even a squeak came from it. I will update this after using for a couple days to let you know how it holds up to my weight. Update: This thing is awesome!!! I ride it daily and have 0 problems. This thing handles my 300+lbs body like a pro. Absolutely no creaking and flexing. Good job Razor!

We bought this for our five year old, but everyone in the family loves to ride it! The handle height is adjustable so we can set it lower for our five year old, or higher for an adult - and switching height is so easy with a pressure clamp! This scooter also folds up for easy storage, has a kick stand if you prefer to use that instead of folding it, and the back wheel has a break that you press with your foot. My family has commented on this scooter on how it has bigger wheels and a wider bottom than their razors and they really liked that. This is a great product to get some exercise and to develop balancing skills. I would buy this again/recommend it to my friends and family.

At 52 years old I may have bitten off more than I can chew but in spite of my bleeding ankles and the feeling that I just escaped death while riding this for only .7 miles, I like it! It unfolds right out of the box and is ready to go. The handlebars in the photo are 13inches and many reviewers thought they were too narrow for adult shoulders. The handlebars on this scooter are actually 18 inches and that seems to be more desirable for the average adult scooter enthusiast. So far I can't switch legs without stopping, I nearly killed myself rolling over a small crack (I've learned to pull back a little on the handle bars over cracks) and if I take one hand off of the handlebars, say, to push up my glasses, I wobble and then crash badly. Using this kick scooter really gives the standing leg a tough workout as it is always bent or bending - like posting on an English saddle but using only one leg at a time - unless coasting when you can straighten both legs (ahhhh....muscle relief!) and then just worry about wrecking and dying. I had thought this would be good on sidewalks but now I realize that I have to decide whether to try and maneuver those treacherous cracks or just embrace the smoother street riding and risk my life getting tagged by cars. I know I should wait till I have more experience scooting before I write this review but really, I'm pretty excited about it all. I think it's a good machine for the price and I'm determined to get better at it. Maybe I'll add more to my review in a few weeks if I'm not laid up in a hospital covered in plaster.

I'm a college student, and I bought this to get to my cross-campus classes on time. I get some weird looks and I've been referred to as "the scooter girl" before, but it's really great for someone who doesn't want to deal with bike parking but is too uncoordinated to ride a skateboard. The big wheels handle the cracks in the sidewalks really well and it folds up so I can stash it by the door during class.

My husband and I use these to cruise Manhattan. The ride is smooth, and they are SO convenient in the city!

I am female in 30's who lives in Los Angeles area. Every Saturday, I have a language class in LA downtown where parking is expensive and some of the street meters are inaccessible due to certain conditions on the streets. The parking structure provided by my school for free is 10 mins walk from the classroom. Walking for 10 mins is easy and nice, but not when you are late or it is filthy hot. It started getting very hot in LA and I have been late to the class for a few times. Then I saw adults skating the kick scooters in downtown on my way to the classroom. To be honest, I have not seen adults skating scooters before.. - or maybe I did not pay attention to. It looked so efficient and did not look awkward for adults. So I got myself one. This one has 20cm wheel, one click folding system, is in silver chrome color as opposed to those blue or pink or graphics, and cheaper than all the others. There's nothing fancy about this scooter. No suspension, no air wheel.. But that's about it I don't think I want to pay $200, $300 for suspension. The first scooter I received had a dent on the deck and the handle was not aligned. Returned. The second scooter I ordered has never arrived. Finally, the third scooter was the one to keep. Razor might need to improve their product quality and shipping process. As soon as I decided to keep this, I removed the "razor" sticker from the handle rod and the grip tape from the deck. I put my own little stickers on the rod and the black paradox grip tape all over the deck except for the small area around the joint. It looks very nice now and has great grip. It takes less than 5 mins now. Had not been for those crosswalks, I could have been three mins. 70% gain in time with $80 investment. I am very satisfied. I also bought a used electric scooter E300 from Razor but found this manual kick scooter is more useful when it comes to a short commute. eScooter is too heavy to casualy load/unload to and from the car trunk. For my 10 min walk, it would add good 2-3 mins just to load/unload and wait for the elevators up and own the parking structure, albeit the actuall ride time will be reduced by a minute or so from the current 3 mins using the manual one. Overall, a great buy for my purpose. and It is very very fun zipping around the streets.
