Great product! Great customer service!
I love this knife! It has such a good fit in my hand, is sturdy, and has a strong guard to keep my hand from slipping into the blade while wet. Everything about this knife is high quality and Inwould recommend it to anyone in need of this kind of tool. Also, the customer service from this company has been excellent. Amazon sent me a note that the package had been damaged during shipment and they had cancelled my order. HiCoup then let me know that they would be sending me a replacement free of charge to cover my inconvenience. That's an unusual level of service for an issue that was not their fault. So, I got a great product from a great company. I wish Incould say that about every online order I make!

Solid, well made,perfect design
This is a great product. Had another but it was wooden handle and not full tang, worked great but wore out. This is as good better feel in your hand, and a extremely well made. Customer service is fantastic. Well worth every dollar, highly recommend. I made short work of 8 Doz oysters on first use. This will be an item for special gifts to my clamming friends

Best oyster knife ever.
I have tried multiple oyster knives. Most are lame. The handles come loose. Your hand slips. They are dull and don't dig in. They all suck. I've used screwdrivers. That was just scary. I almost ended up in the emergency room. This beauty is the best. The hilt is fantastic. Plus, it looks awesome. Wear it on your belt like the bad-ass you are. Shuck on!

Beautiful AND functional
This is such a beautiful oyster knife! I got it as a gift and got to see it in action as it opened massive oysters. Not only is the blade strong and durable, but the beautiful wooden handle is too. I know this because while I was at work a certain puppy, ie mine, decided to first nibble at the box, then the beautiful leather sheath, and finally the knife itself. The knife was the last man standing, so to speak, and the handle still looked pristine. It still made a beautiful gift and it's legit durable against anything, even my tyrant puppy.

Surpassed my highest expectations
I'm really pleased with this tool. The sheath is kind of flimsy, but it's really just a bonus add on anyway. The oyster knife itself is incredibly high quality. I used to work in a country club where is have to shuck several hundred oysters in a day for an event; thus would have been so much better than the commercial units we used. The blade is very thick and strong, but "sharp" enough to fit into the tightest shells. It's one of those unexpected great products that come along one in a while. Highly recommend.

One Tough Shucker
Bought this for an Oyster Fest church fundraiser. While I have ordinary Oyster knives (shuckers), the sheath was appealing to me so I wouldn't lose it in the crowd of over 200. However the knife itself was the winner. Not only is it beautiful, the workmanship is superb - and I like/know good knives. There were 3800 oysters cooked over the course of the night and I believe I ate half of them. Seriously, I shucked a bunch and this knife got worked hard. I was leery that based on the price it might not survive a hard night's work, but it was just as tight by night's end. The full tang was a Godsend, keeping my hands safe when trying to open the stubborn ones, and making opening easier as you could could really get some push behind it. Here's a final testimony to this little beauty: before opening a single oyster, I missed the sheath when holstering the knife and it fell to the concrete floor. I was heartbroken; I despise scratches and dents. To my shock, I could not, and still can't find a single spot on the knife caused by the fall - I don't know which end hit but the blade isn't dented, the wood handle isn't chipped or any of the metal detail scratched. It must be made with some pretty hard materials. I believe this will last a lifetime! Great product at superb value.

So easy to use, anyone without experience, can open the toughest oyster with little or no effort.
I have been shucking oysters for many years and have used several different styles of knives to open them. This knife seems to combine the best features of the others into one, perfectly-designed shape and rigidity that works for all types of oysters. In addition, a couple of unexpected surprises appeared in my email inbox. The first was a complete guide to how to use the knife with photos and very detailed instructions. Because of my previous experience, it was not much of a help. But, for someone just starting out - WOW! It explained everything you need to know about opening these delicious creatures. A day or so after that, I received an email containing pretty much everything one needed to know about the complete history of oysters - a rather lengthy document that I found amazing to read. All of this for a very minimal investment of under $20.00. And that was not all. Each of the emails that I received from the company expressed their commitment to my complete satisfaction with the product. Any problem, just contact them and they will fix it. Customer service at its best.

Good, sturdy oyster knife for the price.
This is a very affordable, and seemingly durable little oyster knife. The sheath is an added bonus, but could be greatly improved by fastening the leather latch tab on the back side of the belt loop instead of the knife side. As is, the hilt gets snagged when removing it from the sheath. A minor inconvenience, but such a simple fix could be a big improvement.

Good quality shucker
I don't have a lot of experience shucking oysters (~200 Kumamotos to date), but I find this to work well. Nice point makes the initial penetration easy. The curved handle fits well in hand and spreads the pressure across a larger area. The 'guard' is helpful to keep things from going in too far when you slip and stuff off your hands. The only thing to improve is sharpening the sides of the blade so separating the oyster from its shell, once opened, is easier. I guess I can do that myself - or maybe I'm just using the wrong technique?

Nicest looking oyster knife out there.
Beautiful finish on this knife. My only concern is the point is sharp. I've never seen an oyster knife with a point. It's beautiful and works well if I can just keep it out of my hand. The overall quality is really good. Having the small sheath is a nice touch. This is sharp enough to put a hole in your pocket without it. This is a great gift idea for your oyster shucking buddies.
