Happy With My Dell Battery Replacement

My Dell laptop fell off my end table, but did not break anything on the laptop. However, the battery quit working. In other words would not charge and when I unplugged it, laptop went dead. Did the research and figured the fall some how damaged the battery even though there was no visible signs of damage. It was the original battery, about 4-5 years old. Found this one on Amazon and thought I would give it a try. Price was great. Ordered with my prime membership and when it arrived, inserted it into my laptop. Well, low and behold, lap top was back to its old self again. So far battery has been functioning great. Very pleased with my purchase. If anything changes, I will update my review, but I don't expect it to. UPDATE: Well battery has been great until a couple of months ago. Most of the time I use laptop plugged in. However recently a couple of months ago, I needed to use laptop unplugged. Battery indicator showed 1 hour left, but in about 10 minutes it died. Plugged it in and indicator says charging, 45 minutes till fully charged but 5 minutes it showed full charged. ?? Now it won't keep a charge. I need to find a battery that will last a little longer than a year and a half. Original Dell battery lasted 4-5 years. Seems like it always happens just after the warranty ends.

Highly Recommend

Works great. Got it for my fiance's work laptop. Lasts at least his 9 hour shift. He never uses it longer to give you a great time estimate on how long it lasts. Very easy to install. I'd definitely purchase again. Great value for the money.

Laptop Battery

Purchased this battery for an older Dell laptop computer. It arrived packaged well and was very easy to install. I think the price was right. I cannot attest to the battery life as it has only been installed one week. It arrived about 50% charged and was completely charged within 2 hours of connecting it to power.

Glad I got this, it last for me on balance performance is 4 hours, and gaming hours about 2 1/2 to 3 give or take it all depends on the computer you got.. Mine is a dell..... The game I got is War of Warcraft, that game alone takes up a lot of battery time. When its needs to be re charged it warns you about 20% is left on the battery life.. well that's what mine does. Other then that I have no problems with it, and its been a month

Good battery

So far so good. It came with about a 70% charge, which I allowed to discharge (took @4 hrs). After it when to hibernate, I plugged in my laptop and allowed the battery to recharge to 100%. If I notice any different performance going forward, I'll update the review.

It's working well for me, so far...

The instruction are a little confusing, but you can figure them out with a little time. You have to do a "burn-in" by fully charging it, then discharging it by letting the device run on battery until its charge has been depleted. You may have to enter into the setting for POWER in the OS and adjust them so that they will not interfere with the discharge process because you are trying to drain the battery as much as possible. When your device shuts down due to lack of battery charge, you charge it back to full capacity and operate the device as you normally would. This helps prolong the battery life if you perform this maintenance at least a couple of times per year. Batteries don't last forever, but this exercise should help prolong it's life. I just checked my laptop too. It's been off for about two weeks and has only lost 5% on a 100% charge. I think you should disconnect and store your charged battery if you are planning a prolonged stint of no use so that you can preserve battery life as well. No problem with this battery, and it comes with "feet" that raise your laptop off of the surface just enough to get more air to help prevent excess heat build-up. Good stuff.

This battery was just what I needed. Now when I accidently unplug the computer I don't have to restart. I used my computer on battery about two hours and still had 40% left. If I get at least two to three years of use, then It will be worth the price.

Wow what a difference

Wow! All this time I’ve been living off the charger. My battery was completely drained. If I took my laptop off the charger it would turn off immediately!! Now with this new battery I can live off the plug. Can’t believe I waited so long to buy this. Your search ends here. Buy this!

Replacement Dell battery that saved the day

somtimes the desciption for electronics products like this says " fits xyz" or "for use with xyz" but then when you get it it doesn't fit or latch the way it should. In this case the product was exactly what was advertised - it fit the Dell model computers we had which were in the lilst of compatible models. The listing for the product on Amazon also gave lots of pictures at different angles for us to compare to the batteries we already have to try to see if they were the same - very helpful.. The only difference is that the top of the battery had 3 ridges on it just like the batteries we had (the picture on the website showed a smooth surface) This was also a life saver since Dell no longer supplies batteries for the model Dell laptop we have - and the original batteries that were supplied with the laptops went bad pretty quickly. Very reasonably priced (had seen used batteries of this type for 3 and 4X this price) and it arrived the same day we ordered them (for the addition $10). Great service, as advertised, and works great.
