*Updated* Third time purchasing, because all of our friends are so impressed by our pups good behavior!!
This has been amazing!!! This one was actually purchased for a friend, because they were so impressed with our pups progress they wanted one for their dog as well. After only a few days of training with this collar and our pup is free to roam outside. We don't even have to use it anymore, but she knows to stay in the yard. I love that is has a vibrate and beep feature. We never actually had to shock her, the beep and vibration were enough to teach her the boundaries of our yard. Our friend has began using it as well and has already began to see progress after only a week of use. We are all sold on these trainers. Truly a MUST HAVE for any dog owner! **Updated to add- I didn't think to mention this before, but I wasn't a fan of the collar that comes with the pet trainer so we used the collar we already had for our pup and it works great. You just slide the actual trainer off the black collar and it can slide right on to yours. (I just though that might be helpful for someone). Quick note- I rely greatly on customer reviews when I am looking to purchase an item, and I know others do too, so I try to be as thorough and honest in giving it as possible. I put a lot of thought into my review and appreciate feedback, [...]. Thanks so much for reading and feel free to ask me any questions! :)

Great product that aids in training.
Great product, works exactly as described on Amazon. I only had to use it a couple of times to get my dog's attention. He had developed a "bad habit" of making me issue commands twice before he complied. This collar fixed that after only a couple of uses. I put the collar on my dog and let him become accustomed to it for a week before I used the "nick" or "shock" options. You need only to "regain" the animals attention and refocus them on the task at hand, not hurt them. I always used the audio option immediately before the shock so my dog understood that if he continued to ignore my command he was about to receive "that strange uncomfortable feeling". After a short time he would stop and look me in the eyes" and then respond to the command after hearing the beep. As soon as he obeyed my command, I gave him positive reinforcement (love and praise and occasionally a treat in the form of his favorite snack). It should not take long for your dog to react positively to you, obey your commands, and not need the collar. WARNING!!! This product has intensity settings from 1 to 100. My dog "Mack" is a 75 pound Pitt Bull that is normally very obedient. When I first received this "shock collar" I set it on level 10 out of 100. I then shocked myself to see what kind of "pain stimulus" Mack would receive. It was a very strong shock! So much that it made the muscles in my arm suddenly contract involuntarily. It was very surprising and I wouldn't suggest that anyone set their dogs collar this high unless you have a very unruly, hard headed dog! I set the shock level down to a 1 (out of 100) setting and shocked myself again. After increasing the "stimulus level" a couple more times and shocking myself repeatedly (I'm a glutton for punishment), I decided that level 5 was just enough to get Mack's attention without "hurting" him. I am an animal lover and I would never subject my animals to something harmful or something I had not experienced first hand. My dog Mack is a registered Emotional support dog, and his willingness to calmly and willingly accept commands is a must! Since he is a large dog that happens to be a misundetood breed (75 pound Pitt Bull) and will be in public at public places such as Wal-Mart, restaurants, grocery stores, and airports. Now the part "the average pet owner" needs to understand is, your dog has feelings and emotions just like a small child (without the benefits of cognitive understanding). If you use this product without also utilizing positive training and rewards, you will turn your dog into a cowardly, confused, and uncomfortable wreck of an animal. Cowardly, confused dogs bite more people than "mean and vicious" dogs. In "dogs world", the only defense they have is to bite. So, I ask you to please exercise caution, patients, and common sense when using this product or any other form of "negative or punative" training with your animals. I highly recommend searching YouTube for training help or do some research at the library. I've trained dogs for "working livestock" in a ranch or farm setting for years, and have had a lot of time to learn from my mistakes, and have had the opportunity to train some extremely intelligent dogs. Used incorrectly this or any other products can be more harmful than one might expect.

Gets their attention
We just rescued our girl Mille from a local shelter here. Absolutely fantastic dog. After having her for about a week, she decided to start jumping our fence to go say "hi" to all the other neighbourhood dogs and people lol. Of course it isn't safe so we decided to try this Petrainer. IT WORKED! I swear we only had to zap her a couple times and she got the picture. She never once yelped or cried or acted like it was painful. My husband and I both tried it on ourselves before using it on her and it gets your attention obviously but it doesn't hurt. It feels like a static shock. There are multiple settings on it. Noise, vibrate, and shock. They all have settings that range from 1-100. On Mille we never went over 50 but she is a smaller ( 25-30 lb) dog. You may need to go higher on the larger breeds. We have used the Vibrate mode for behaviour training, like jumping and to come mainly. Worked perfectly. I would recommend this to anyone with a stubborn dog like mine. I don't feel that this is a cruel form of training at all. I know some question it. My thing is when their safety is at risk you have to resort to other things. I didn't want Mille to get hit by a car or attacked by another dog that didn't want her in their yard. I had no other option. Mille goes for 3 walks a day and the dog park at least every other day. Very well exercised but she just couldn't resist jumping. Now she can though, she knows its not worth it. Anyway, the collar is great. great material and she is comfortable wearing it. It comes with different size prongs for different sized dogs and a charging cable ( which we only have to charge every couple days and just do it over the night when we do). All in all its perfect :) If you have found my review helpful please click "yes". Thank you!!

She barks when the phone is dropped because it sounds like a knock at the door
This is the second one I have purchased. The first one got lost in one of our moves, so it needed to be replaced. My dog has a tendency to bark at people who are outside a block away when she is looking out the window. She barks when the phone is dropped because it sounds like a knock at the door, she begs at dinner time, and she is just plain ole stubborn, so I am using this again to help break her of these habits. I start out using the sound first, then go to the vibration. I typically do not shock her unless she is being extremely stubborn. The only downside to the collar is she does not like it, so the minute she sees it, her tail goes between her legs and she starts shaking. I have started putting it on in the morning so that when she does behavior that is pleasing, she gets praised and/or treats when the collar is on so it is not associated with just negative feelings. I have not had the collar on the last 2 days, and last night she laid down on the floor while we ate, and did not beg at all, so I believe the collar is working.

ipets backed it up
the collar quit working after not-too-long a period of time - I contacted the company, ipets, that makes the collar and they responded immediately with some trouble-shooting ideas - when the collar still did not work, they sent me a new collar and remote, no questions asked, no charge - the collar (receiver) does work very well at a solid distance, and I have no complaints about the operation - the battery seems to hold up well in the collar, which surprises me since it is activated, i.e. ready to receive a signal/command anytime the dog is in motion - I use the collar while I am hiking in the woods, and the dogs are in constant motion, so the collar is activated the whole time - however, it has still only been necessary for me to charge the collar every few weeks - the vibrate and shock modes both work very well - shock mode is not effective while the dog is on snow due to lack of grounding, so my dog has learned to respect the vibrate mode as well since he figures a shock will follow if he does not pay heed to the vibration warning - good collar for the money, and if it fails to work, the company replaces it with no questions asked - subsequently, it rates five stars from me from this specific seller -

Works perfect
I am definitely one to read reviews so i wanted to post one for some one else. One lady talked about not turning the shock up too high because she felt the level 3 was good for her dog. Now i did the same thing manys others did and i am sure you will do... Is shock myself to know how it feels and the level. It wasn't bad but i did not have it set on a high number.. It was still enough to feel it. This divise also comes with a beeping noise and a vibrate setting. It took me a bit to figure out how to work the remote. Maybe i am a little slow in that department or maybe because the directions were not totally clear. You do have to charge it when you get. The hole for the unit is on the side so you have to remove the collar to get it. Now lets get to how this works.. My dog is a 6 month old full pitty.. She is kind of a baby that doesn't always listen. I put the shock on 3 and it did nothing.. I had to tighten the collar and put the larger prongs on the divise. Then ibhad to crank it up past 30 for her to have any reaction. I could see her muscle move in her neck.. Lol but she looked at me like... Ya.. What?? It did nothing!! I cranked it up more and she now has some reaction to it. She shakes her head and then runs around. The vibrate option however seems to be the best for her. It more or less scares her a little and i know it is not hurting her. I only have to push the little y buttom once or twice now and she comes running when i call. The charge lasts about 2 or 3 days depending o. How much you are useing it. I worked her into it slowly so not to scare her too much. I want her to know what the purpose of it is.. To listen me. I know as she gets bigger i will need a bigger one. This shock collar is kind of small but she is only 6 months old so its perfect. I read reviews about it being plastic and breaking.. My dog has not broken hers and it seems to be perfect for her at this point. Its not super heavy so she doesn't mind wearing it. She cant reach it to chew on it. So like i said.. It is working very well for my puppy. If you have a larger dog you may want to consider a stronger or larger unit. I think for a beginner this is perfect. I hope this review helps the next person. And i would buy again.

I must break you
I have a 8month old weenie dog by the name of Winston. The kid is amazing cuddle playful the while nine yards. The issue little dude walks outside like a retarded gang banger. He pulls super hard (he has his dads shoulders) he eats everything in site (again got it from his dad) and go wild when he sees cats and other people. I had to convince my wife to get this life saver because she thought I was going to shock the kid. After showing her that is has diffrant modes we got it. Let me tell you guys it was night and day in about 5 minutes. I watched a video on YouTube and they gave some helpful tips. That was it now he walks next to me only strays off to pee and poo and fnally comes when I call him. I do not use the shock function only the jvibratiin function. And the kid has responded very well. I do follow the instructios of only 15 minutes at a time. And its just brilliant. Do not hesitate this is a painless and super effective training tool that I wish I would of bought a long time ago. UPdate: we have gotten a bluetick coonhound and are currently trining her with this. she is responding super well. she is on the larger side and it just goes ti show that the item is versitile from a mini weenie to a hound.

Works. 15 mins of work 2 week worth of improvement
I have 2 German Shepards. They are 2 months and 10 days old. They have the hardest heads of any dog I have ever seen. You call them and they just look at you. They are also the smartest 2 dogs I have ever seen. They know their names, can sit, are nearly house broke, but will not come when you call them. I put these collars on them and in 15 mins they have a new out look when I call their names. I did not have to "shock" them!!! I use the beep when I called their names and the vibrate to move them along. I'm amazed at how good they work! Try the shock on your self before you use it on your animal. I'm 6' 2" and 235 lbs and the shock at 100% hits me hard. I have it on 10% for the dogs and the vibrate set to 50%. Works like a champ. Don't let your kids have the remote. Don't use it when your mad. It's a training aid not a punishment tool.

Sanity Saver!
So far, so good! I purchase this for our 5 month old German Shepherd puppy. When we adopted her in early September she was so hyper & out of control we were pulling our hair out! Well, she just finished a 30 day stay at a local dog training school that she did very well at. She came home from her "puppy Boot camp " a changed puppy! Except for one thing: she still wants to chase our 4 cats around the house knocking down, breaking & plowing over anything in her way! This is a non-stop thing for her too. If she's not actually chasing the poor kitties, she's thinking about it (pacing, whining, barking, etc). We purchased this collar for the varying levels of sounds & vibrations. We started with the sound & just made it beep when she started her kitty stalking & we use the vibration if she starts the chase. (We do not use the shock feature) When we push the beep or the vibration it makes her snap out of her "Must get Kitty" trance & listen to our command. This collar is a sanity saver for sure!😜

My dog is an a-hole, but with this collar, he's less of one.
I am shocked at how well this collar works. My dog (who I consider untrainable) responds to this collar incredibly. I have never used the shock setting on him, only the beep, or the vibration. My dog barks at a leaf blowing down the street, so the fact that my backyard touches five other yards with dogs (9 dogs total) should tell you something. He used to run the fence line and bark, bark, bark at every dog, zipping back and forth. His constant barking only makes all the neighbor dogs go crazy too (my dog is the instigator). He will sit on the deck of the play set and look down on all the neighboring dogs and demand respect. I suspect they're dropping f-bombs back up at him, but he doesn't care... that is until I press the little button on the remote and he hears the beep. I am seriously floored the way he immediately stops barking, and runs direct to the back door to come in. I work from home, and the same goes for inside the house. He starts barking at a bunny who dares to cross our lawn, I give him a beep and he stops. There have been a few times where I forget to put the collar back on him (I will say he knows when the collar is not on) and he is at the back fence barking. If I just put the collar to the back door and press the button, he hears the beep all the way at the back of the yard (maybe 150 feet?) and stops barking and comes running. This may be the best purchase towards my insanity I have ever made.
