A great tool for scientific education, need an equatorial mount for professionals
I ordered the telescope well in advance for the event of super blood wolf moon eclipse early this year. Unfortunately, the weather on the day is cloudy. However, this telescope works well and the quality pretty much exceeded my expectation. I've operated real astronomical optical telescope worth millions of dollars when I did my intern in college years ago. At its very low magnification level, the image quality is comparable to this telescope when observing the moon. The major difference is in the stability of the support that at the maximum magnification with 5mm objective lens, the image of this telescope is a little bit shaking, but not a big dealer me after I put several rubber washers underneath the foot of the tripod to damping the vibration of the ground caused I assume by the furnace nearby. At low magnification with the 25 mm lens, the vibration is not an issue. It is a great tool to teach the kids as it can easily see the moon surface. It is too cold outside during the winter now that I can not stand in the cold for too long to try other planets. For that purpose, I think I might need to get an equatorial mount which may cost as much as this telescope. Again, this is a good demonstration the value of the telescope is well above its price. I am very happy with the choice and expecting the summer to come soon that I can operate all night. Another feature I appreciate very much the accessories comes together including a cellphone mount for showing-off on the social media and a Bluetooth remote shutter which works well with my android phone. It would be better it the DSLR camera adapter can be also included. I think it is great for scientific education and school teaching. For more professional usage, one would still need an equatorial mount.

Great bargain for the price, excellent first scope
Very well built. I haven't taken it outside yet, but the quality of the mount and tube are very nice. It looks like the longer 'brother' of my Tasco Synta-made 80 mm Shorty. Same focuser, same finder and mount. The mount is very smooth and not that heavy overall, but it looks like it is made to last. This would be perfect for someone wanting to introduce themselves or others to the planets and constellations. It would be better to have a star diagonal (90 degrees) rather than a 45-degree one, but the 45-degree will work for both the sky and for spotting scope viewing Update: I've had this out to look at the moon and some of the Messier objects, and it gives great views. Images compare to those that I get from my much more expensive and larger scopes. It has a very wide field, but the barlow that comes with it works well to give some higher magnification on bright objects such as the moon. I'm very impressed with the quality and price combination for this telescope. It's very easy to carry, set up and use, which can't be said of a lot of "beginner" scopes. This will be perfect for beginner and experienced stargazer alike. Update: I had it out for Sirius and Betelgeuse the other night, and I continue to be impressed with this little telescope. The mount is good for getting outside quickly and wide-angle views, but for precision work it's hard to use. I like the accessory tray on the tripod though, and it's very steady but hard to adjust overall. The tube can fit on lots of astronomy tripods or even a heavy photo tripod since it has a standard 1/4" hole in the middle of the bar. The bar setup can adjust the balance of the tube, which is nice (unusual for a starter setup). This mount would be adequate for planets and the moon, and wide-field or terrestrial use, but it's hard to center things. The finder scope is the best kind you can get, based on the standard Vixen model, and the eyepieces that come with this scope are excellent. The barlow is just OK, but the EP themselves are quality. One of the big attractions of this setup is that it's easy to put together and light and quick to get outside - that's a tremendous advantage.

Great telescope for at home or on the go!
Absolutely love this telescope! I bought it for my fiancé as a gift, and he's been having a great time using it! We also have a young son who I'm betting will love using it too as he gets older. :) I'm really happy it comes with multiple lenses, which allows for more versatility. I like using it to view not only the night sky, but also the mountains in the distance. Also, I really love how easy it was to put together out of the box, and it's quite lightweight, so it's easy to pack up and carry around if you want to travel with it. All around wonderful telescope for the price!

Fun easy to use
Like it. Wish I purchased the 160mm Telescope. It's a keeper. :-)

A little difficult to set up initially and the instructions were worthless. The biggest challenge I had was initially using the strongest lens to look at the moon - it was just too powerful for something so large.

What great product!
What great product!! Far things to see at are closer then my eyes can. Moon is far but big to this product. Hardware can is great but strong to use and great for looking to space with. Buying products would do if not. Good times for the little ones. Recommended I would to friend family.stars are 5? I thinking. Good.

Check everything before you take the scope out for the first time. My tripod came with a broken piece, so I had to exchange it for a new one (painless process). The scope itself is exactly what I was looking for. Took it out over the weekend with my wife and couldn't believe how clear the moon was, even at low magnification. Just for fun we pointed it towards Jupiter and saw four of its moons! She and I are just getting in to astronomy, so while this scope isn't going to make out any deep-space objects it absolutely meets our needs. Looking forward to spotting all the planets and maybe some meteor showers. All in all I was very happy with my purchase. Thank you sellers.

Very nice
This telescope is really good for looking at large objects. I tried looking at distant stars and planets but they only appeared as slightly larger spots of light instead of the actual celestial body showing. However though, when I looked at the Moon, it had way more detail. This telescope is relatively lightweight and easy to use. I took it outside just today and it only required one person to carry it. I also like that it has a miniature scope to see whether or not you’ll be able to see the celestial body. The degree at which this telescope can rotate is pretty nice as well. This telescope is worth its price and it is very child-friendly.

Works great was able to see the rings of Saturn
