I was really surprised when I received the Vastar tripod adapter as to how small and light it was. This was the good news. The last thing I needed was something bulky or heavy attached to my phone and then to the mini tripod which I have. My wife and I take trips to Cancun and like to film our experiences and conversations especially in the restaurants. With this adapter I can easily attach it to my mini tripod and have the phone placed on the table to film us. The adapter rotates easily and locks securely so that you can position your phone in either the horizontal or the vertical position. Another bonus is that even without attaching it to a tripod you can use the adapter as a handle to hold your phone while filming. I don't like to use a selfie stick, and smart phones are notoriously difficult to hold as a camera. I always seem to be getting my thumb over the camera lens. With this device I can hold the phone securely as though it actually was a camera. I'm not really sure what the top hot shoe portion of the adapter is for. It possibly could be to hold lights or a microphone etc. Although I really do not see using it on a smart phone for my application. This is a simple device that holds your phone securely and can be attached to either a regular size tripod or a mini tripod. It makes using your phone as your camera easy.

Tablet Tripod Mount is every easy to mount and use

I love my new tripod mount holder. It works great. I mounted my Ipad 4th generation Ipad and my 1st generation Ipad, both mounted fine. I also mounted my Amazon Fire with no problem. I did however have some minor difficulties mounting my Galaxy 6S Edge, but I finally did it. As far as I can tell this iPad tripod mount should work fine with any tablet. I have a standard tripod nothing fancy. I had the Ipad mounted in just a few minutes and it worked great for taking videos.

Sturdy and easy to use

I used the Vastar iPad Tripod Mount Universal Tablet Tripod Holder Adapter at a volleyball tournament after receiving it. The universal adapter provided easy mounting to my existing tripod and the simple locking mechanism held my Samsung 8 inch tablet tight all day long. Not only is it easy to use, it's pretty durable too. During the day-long tournament, the Vastar iPad Tripod Mount Universal Tablet Tripod Holder Adapter took two direct hits from errant volleyballs and maintained its hold on the tablet.

This is awesome, and you can't beat the price.

Perfect! We used this along with one of our tripods to set up a PhotoBooth at my baby shower. (A bunch of props & signs in a bucket, hung one of those gold foil fringe curtains, set up the iPad with an app in this stand & BAM! What fun!) Only con is that the iPad stays horizontal, but for the price, I can't argue. Also, it doesn't come with the screw to hold it in place, so make sure you have one.

Pretty cool mount for iPad

Pretty cool mount for iPad. Made of plastic but given how limited I plan on using it I don't see it being a problem. I pretty much got this on the off chance I may use my iPad for additional video footage when doing home made projects so I was not expecting rock solid build quality and for the price it's well worth it. It adjusts easy and fits snugly even with the case on.

Tablet Tripod Mount works great with Surface Tablet

I received my tablet tripod mount a couple days early. Packaged fine and undamaged. I have a Microsoft Surface, the very first one. I wanted something to hold my tablet on a tripod to video me demonstrating various things. The Vaster fit perfectly. I like the fact that you you clamp it in as hard as you want and then secure it by turning a knob on the back. No springs to mess with. Really easy to get on. If you clamp it tightly, it will hold in the vertical position, but I hesitate to leave it in the vertical since it is possible for the tablet to slide out and fall. In short it works great and you can not beat the price.

This is the best mount I have found for my iPad mini. And it is one of the cheapest too! It is surprisingly well built, easy to mount your tablet, and it holds it very securely. After a year of use, mine finally broke after the dog knocked over the tripod. I immediately ordered another one without hesitation.

great solution for a bargain discount price

if you need to do a few quick ipad filming of kids at school plays or at ball games this is clearly a low buck solution. assume it wont last forever, but then i dont have a 100 hour recording need. just something that can be quickly to a AmazonBasics 67-Inch Monopod for an exra low buck solution for those like to have for a few minutes.

Works well with Osmo Pocket

Bought this immediately when it got discounted. It works well with my Osmo Pocket while it’s inside the PolarPro Tripod Mount. That’s why I bought this instead of those more expensive Osmo Pocket cell phone mounts. I didn’t want to remove my PolarPro Tripod Mount and I like how’s there’s a quarter thread on the side and bottom and I like the cold shoe mount. Does the job for a great price.

Great next to a piano.

It works and it is simple to use. Parts are plastic so I would only trust this on a stationary tripod setup. Ours is used to hold iPad near piano for remote lessons. I wish it could support portrait orientation in addition to landscape.
