Turkish Delight Taste Adventure

I remember reading the Narnia series as a child many, many moons ago. I remember using my childlike imagination trying to figure out what Turkish Delight was, and why was it so special. This was long before PCs were found in almost every home. Those were the days of the encyclopedia rather than Wikipedia and the seemingly endless things you can learn in a very short time on the internet. Anyhow, I mentioned that because I was nearing my 4th decade, with a laptop of my own, and when someone mentioned the Narnia books to me, it reminded me of my quest all those years ago regarding Turkish Delight. Luckily for me, I was able to find it here on Amazon, where I buy most everything. In fact, there are different brands and varieties to choose from. I decided on this box because I figured the assorted flavors would give me more than one type of the confection. Wise move. The pieces of candy are relatively small, and it is all lightly covered in powdered sugar. A few pieces are enough to satisfy your sweet tooth, so even though the box isn't the largest, it goes further than it looks like it would. How would I describe the flavor? The closest thing I can compare it to is the inside of a jelly bean, so no crunch through any kind of shell, but a soft, chewy, fruity candy. Are they good? Yes! Are they now my new favorite? Undecided. I am going to try some more of the various types before I make my decision between "delicious" and "can't live without it". If you are like I was, wanting to try it but not sure what to expect, I think this box is a wise first taste of Turkish Delight. Enjoy!

Delicious Turkish Delight

My kids are reading the Chronicles of Narnia together and I thought it would be fun to get Turkish Delight to make the story more real for them. I put it in my son's stocking for Christmas and he was so excited! It is DELICIOUS. It was hard not to eat the whole box in one sitting. The only part that I didn't like was the excess powdered sugar that puffed out of the box as soon as you open it, but other than that, no complaints. I would definitely buy again.

Authentic and absolutely delicious!

I bought this as a surprise gift for someone, after we had a conversation about childhood treats we missed and haven't been able to find in stores. I needed a nut free version and was happy to find a nice assorted flavors box. He was thrilled to recieve it and dove right in! He said it was better than he remembers, and was excited to try the different flavors. So was I and it was amazing! This 500 year old recipe is incredible, such simple basic natural ingredients...better than the modern day version of gummy candy out there! Little chunks of delicately flavored gummies rolled in confectioners powdered sugar. A wonderful new special treat I'm so glad I discovered. The owner of the compant emailed me as well to express thanks and gave me a discount code for a future order, which was a thoughtful gesture and very appreciated!

Brilliant

Two things before my review. One, I was not bribed, given anything free or in any way coerced to write this my review. This is of my own free will and due to how tasty I have found the product. Two, Other than reading about Turkish Delight and trying to make it once - not good - this is my first real taste of Turkish Delight. That all being said I love this product. The flavors are brilliant. I honestly did not even look to see what the flavors were, I just wanted my delight. I would not have guessed at all of the flavors. For example, the mint I would have guessed was lime. This is a good thing. I did expect the portion to be larger but I quickly realized that a little goes a long way. Pop a few in my mouth and I am satisfied. This product delivered and then exceeded expectations. Great price, fast delivery and a tasty product.

A True Turkish Delight that is sure to Delight!

What a wonderful product!!! Absolutely great communication from the seller. The product...Oh my what a TREAT!!! Perfectly delicious. Not dessicated the way many boxed treats come. These were soft, moist, covered with just the right amount of powdered sugar! The flavors are just right, not overpowering in the least. The size of the pieces are perfect for not over-indulging! I will absolutely be purchasing more of these! Vegan as well, so they fit right in with my Buddhist lifestyle and diet.

Perfect for a Party!

This is THE PERFECT thing to bring to a party or any special occasion. The fruit flavors are awesome and include mint, lemon, apple, blackberry, strawberry, and rose. What I love most is that these fruit delights are nut-free so I can share them with adults and kids without the worry of allergies. I also really appreciate this brand for making sure their treats are Vegan and Gluten-Free, making them even more user friendly. I like that they're a small size, so that I can try all the flavors (twice!) and not feel guilty. I've noticed other Turkish Delight in large chunks and that's not as easy to eat in my opinion.

Lovely, subtle, soft candy

Discourse flowed over the holidays regarding a certain bit of classic literature and whether Turkish delight is, in fact, worth selling out your family to supernatural monarchs. Many book fans had tried it out of curiosity and found it disappointing after all that built-up expectation. The replies from people who had grown up with the stuff, however, intrigued me: If you're used to modern levels of excess sweetness, and aren't used to flavors like rose, it might not be for you but plenty of people have loved it for centuries. Gently sweet and comes in rose flavor? You have my attention, internet. So based on a little bit of asking around, I selected this kind as likely to be close to what Lewis was talking about, and figured I'd try more elaborate ones once I had a baseline idea what the candy is like. It is like gummies. If you like gummie candy, you'll probably like these. They are natural tasting and covered in confectioner's sugar. They are soft and lovely, and whereas without supernatural intervention you're not likely to betray your siblings over them, that's probably just as well. I liked the orange ones best and the green ones least, but they all got eaten. They also lasted longer than other reviews led me to believe, so I might have received a very fresh box. I will certainly be trying the other flavors in future.

excellent flavor, beautifullly packaged, loved by adults and children alike

I purchased two boxes of this Turkish Delight to reward my third graders after reading "The Chronicles of Narnia". The candy is cut into rough centimeter cubes and dusted in powdered sugar. Both the children and our school staff loved the flavor and texture of the candy. The kids would have like a "color coded flavor chart" so they would know what flavor they were getting since I didn't let them have several pieces each. Aside from that, we didn't see any other areas for improvement. Highly recommended!

Delicious! My students loved them and now we know what Edmund was eating in the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

These were delicious! I got them for my 7th grade homeschooling class of 5. The 3 boys mostly refused to try them. I think one did. That left the rest for the two girls and myself. We both loved them. My 10 year old son also really loved them. We had read the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe this year and wanted to find out what this strange sweet was that the White Witch gave to Edmund. I don’t think I would thirst for more, but they were good. I was expecting very icky sweet and they were not that despite the powdered sugar that encased them. They were, however, a real mess, and somewhat difficult to tell what flavor they were due to the powdered sugar mask. I would buy again for an illustration of what the sweet is, but it isn’t something I would regularly buy. I am glad I bought them, though!
