A capable shredder for home and small office use
I have now done several large shredding sessions with the machine, going through about a two inch stack of paper in each session. That about fills the basket. The shredder has worked well and consistently so far. I do not challenge it with more than about 6 sheets at once, because I hear it working harder at that point, and would rather not push it to overheat. It made easy work of paper, staples and credit cards. I have not tried a CD yet. It is not nearly as loud as other shredders I have used. It did shut down after an hour of continuous shredding, as the manual indicated it would.

Well made shredder so far
Ok........ So this thing seems to do pretty well so far. My husband had paperwork as far back as the mid 90's that needed shredding. I finally decided to buckle down and get it done. The shredder allowed me to get it done all in a few hours on the same day. It was quiet enough that I could watch TV while shredding and I didn't have an issue with it over heating. It has a fan and it would kick on if it started to get hot. Very happy with it and worth the money.

Does the job
When this item arrived I sat down with a big stack of papers that needed shredding and went to work. Shredded for 35 minutes strait feeding in stacks of 8 to 10 sheets non stop and the unit just ate it all up ! Didn't get hot or slow down so I would say it passed it's trail by fire

Fast, never overheated, chopped staples, cards, and CDs
I've had it for a little more than a week. Shredded about 15 bins worth of various media: whole envlopes with mailings sealed inside, stapled stacks of paper, plastic credit cards, and a few CD-Rs. It's fast, and it's taken large chunks of paper with no problems. It's never overheated, though when I use it heavily the fan does kick on, and turns off by itself. I have no idea how it'll last, but so far it's been great. I spent a little more on this model to get speed and higher amount of simultaneous pages. So far, been a good investment, it's taken everything I've fed it. It's also got an easily-accessible physical power switch. So you can leave it on Auto, but turn the power switch off and leave it plugged in, without it vamping energy for the month at a time that it doesn't get used. This is a nice touch.

It works absolutely great for shredding sheets of paper
Now when I get those credit card offers I can shred the entire thing without opening it. It works absolutely great for shredding sheets of paper, envelopes, labels, credit cards. The machine will get warm in about the same amount of time it takes to fill up the bin with shredded paper, and then cools off and is ready to use again in about the time it takes to empty. My old shredder could only take a few pieces of paper at a time and would overheat and then have to sit for a long time before you could continue shredding. That is not a problem with this shredder. My only complaint is that it is messy to empty the bin, and if you are doing a big job with multiple dumping of the basket you will need to sweep or vacuum when you are done. I highly recommend this product.

The Little Shredder That Could and Did and Will!
I am *impressed* with this little shredder. We had several months backlog after unexpectedly having to cancel our quarterly shred service. I was expecting to spend hours catching up. Boy, was I wrong! This little dude ate envelopes full of credit offers, balance transfers, and every other annoying POS junk mail we get. I got through it all, including one time to empty it, in less than an hour. Never jammed, never overheated. I can't say enough good things about this little guy! Just buy it!

When something went wrong Bonsaii made it right
I had this shredder for about 6 months and would use it about twice a month for about 20-30mins. Occasionally the runtime would go +30 minutes but even then I never had any overheating issues. It’s more likely you’ll need to empty out the waste basket before needing to let the shredder cool down. Things were going smoothly until my last seemingly normal shredder session. I was shredding my documents as usual when I heard a crack and the shredder ceased to operate. I observed cracks in the top of the shredder and when I looked in the waste basket I noticed there was a large chunk of plastic from the shredder inside. Needless to say the shredder was kaputt. With the shredder being less than a year old, I decided to reach out to Bonsaii in the hopes that something could be done. Within mere hours I received a response from a Bonsaii representative. What surprised me more than their prompt and courteous customer service was how quickly they were willing to offer a solution; a brand new shredder at no additional cost to me! Providing stellar customer service is easy when things go perfectly. However, it’s a true testament to a business’ character to continue to do so when things go wrong. I just received the replacement shredder and I’m back to shredding. Thanks Bonsaii!

Not your economy model.
My material to shred is usually generated at the office, where there is a venerable shredder of the "home office" type. When it became necessary to have a shredder at home, I searched the reviews principally here on Amazon. This shredder met my expectations 100%. It is a cross-cut shredder, which has a durable motor with an extended duty cycle. Most of the shredding we will do is regular office bond paper. Regarding the occasional comments that it does not satisfactorily shred its advertised number of sheets, rack it up to marketing. The instruction manual, if read, actually addresses most of the non-positive comments made in reviews of this product. Limit the sheets fed into the shredder to 8 at a time, if that many. Don't forget that the on-off switch is behind the unit. Better to fold wide sheets than to expect the motor to pull them through the throat askew. The unit is heavier than most of the shredders I've encountered, but I knew how much it weighed when I ordered it, and I ordered it with the belief that the "heavier" would equate with "more durable". The casters help if the shredder needs to be re-located. Finally, it is a quieter shredder than the one I use at work; not at all a bothersome noise in the home office. I expect to get good service from this shredder.

Great Shreader
Have owned many shredders, this is by far the best one. Had a large shredding project and my other shredder which was not a cheap one would overheat frequently and take a long time to cool down. Bought the Bonsaii C149-C based on reviews. Continuous shredding on and off for hours at a time with only short breaks and it never overheated once. 18 sheet capacity is a bit of a stretch, 8-10 at time is more realistic but that is far better than most shredders that can barely handle 3-4. The shredding speed is slower than I was used to but motor more powerful, a trade-off I can accept. My only wish would be for a larger bin about 3x the size. This is a great machine and though more expensive well worth it compared to the frustration that comes with cheaper shredders that overheat constantly. Highly recommended.

Great shredder for the buck
Right out of the box I put this baby to the test. It does what it says it can do and more. I ran it for an hour straight with no problems. Let it cool down a bit (but did no need it). I was a bit scared when it hit a dime glued to my junk mail. It kept on going . I was going to spend $109.00 on a professional shredding service but went for another $50.00 and bought this machine. No complaints here. I did about 100 plus pounds of documents in total.
