Well Pleased!
Love it. The amp-output plugs right into my digital-recording preamp and I'm good to go for adding depth and rhythm to my recordings. Bass sounds great! If I want to impress the neighbors, I can play it strictly through the amp and rumble the apartment building. :)

Great starter bass (short scale) for a 9 year old
This is a BEAUTIFUL instrument. My son wanted a bass for his birthday - he plays guitar but tends to like to play bass lines the best - so, we thought this was a great time to get him this instrument. This Fender is PRETTY. The sunburst color is awesome. The entire set is fantastic - the price of the amp alone makes you realize you're getting a good deal with this set. This is a short scale - my son is 9 - so keep that in mind. I've actually had a blast learning along with him! The tuner is pretty good, and it comes with a gig bag, strap and a DVD. The cables come with the amp. We do have a very positional cable - I'm hopeful it's just the cable, anyway! All in all, great sound, great set, great value.

Great bass for the price
This was the first bass I bought for myself. I did a lot of research on entry level basses before I made my decision. I decided on this one because of fender's proven track record for quality. I was not disappointed. This is an amazing quality bass for what you pay for it. Very solid and sounds great. Correct action/fret height. No buzzing. Easy to play. Looks good. The pickups sound excellent. I have since upgraded to an American fender and a Japan fender and of course those exceed the squier in just about everything. However I still own my squier as it is still a great instrument and I still play it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone starting out on the bass and not wanting to spend a lot of money.

Perfect starting kit
The kit is perfect to start playing the bass guitar. The DVD could be a little bit more comprehensive but I see that more as a plus.

I bought i believe the older version of this like 4 or so years ago and it is a really great bass for biginers to intermediate bass players It has survived falls that should have broke it. It sounds great love the double pickup and the tunabiliyy with booth pickups for diferent sounds. I primarily play jazz and rock and it sounds good my only problem is it can radle when playing maybe do two falling so many times but would recommend this bass to anyone
